Be the first to ReplyMega Evening With My Closest Friends 😉
VERY positive experience indeed! My visit with my friends was totally brilliant. Great food and I'm not talking just sushi! And also some truly amazing cocktails plus service was another level in my humble opinion ❣️ I will definitely visit again soon 😄
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced mediocrity
Please you have to take my review as a real reflection here. If you go here and spend your hard earned money, you are rewarding mediocrity. You are literally paying for location. I have dined at Japanese restaurants all over the world and elsewhere in London. This is truly poor quality and the prices are ludicrous. I am happy to pay up for value but this isn’t it. Food - very mediocre. This is really poor Japanese food. The chefs clearly do not know what they are doing. Ingredients actually were quite poor which no doubt didn’t help the chefs. I suspect the owners are price gouging, trying to squeeze out as much profit as they can. Drinks - overpriced cocktails. They were tasty but so full of ice relative to liquid, you were paying £15-20 for two mouthfuls. Staff - 4 different waiters served us. All got what we asked for wrong. They all lacked energy, any interest, or knowledge or capability. You have to feel sorry for them. They are clearly not invested in through training or motivation. Please avoid.
Be the first to ReplyGenerally nice place
Don’t know what to say probably after reading and looking pic I expected something more but generally it’s nice place probably evening time even better The service is low, because when you need the server it is very hard to get them.Food prices very high but that is London for you 😂 not sure if I return
Be the first to ReplyBest experience in central London!
Delicious food, top level service and cocktails to die for. Will be back soon for sure! It was a special occasion and everything have exceed our expectations!
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambience seamless service
We didn’t book but were able to wait for a table, The cocktails were amazing, highly recommend the Tom Yam. The ambience is amazing, buzzing but not stressed! We ordered food to share, were given great advice not just on recommended dishes but also on amounts to order. The blackened cod is to amazing! Relaxed service but attentive. Wine glasses frequently refilled but seamlessly done. Would definitely go back for another visit.
Be the first to ReplyAfternoon Tea
I came here for the opening of Afternoon Tea. What a delight. Such a cool combination of unique food options. Wagyu katsu sliders, taquitos, sushi, Battenberg. Had such a lovely meal.
Be the first to ReplyDon’t waste your money!
I don’t often write reviews, but I think this one is necessary. We decided to go to the Covent garden location on our honeymoon as we couldn’t get in to Heron Tower. This place came highly recommended from friends so we decided to splurge as it was a special occasion. The place itself is stunning, but the service was terrible. It took 25 minutes and asking two different waiters to receive water. For this price point, I would expect a lot more. We decided to do the tasting menu. Again, at this price point we were expecting outstanding food. However, meals were dumped on our table with no explanation. The food was average at best; one cut of pork was cooked medium well, and the other cooked rare. Perhaps we caught them on a bad night, but I would not recommend this place to anyone. The dessert was nice, and the cocktail was nice once I finally received it. I was not aware we could ask to remove the service charge as we are from Australia. Had I have known this, we would have absolutely asked for it to be removed. Save your money and go to literally anywhere else.
Be the first to Reply21st Birthday Celebration
What a place to come to celebrate a 21st birthday. The decor was stunning, from the plants to the flooring all whilst overlooking Covent Garden. We were seated in one of the booths which created privacy for our table. The mixture of food and flavours were amazing. I would highly recommend the steak as that was a firm favourite of all of ours - the flavours were incredible with the dipping sauces. The best combination of flavours and I can’t wait to visit the Heron Tower SushiSamba next time.
Be the first to ReplyImaginative dishes
I was skeptical about this place as I’ve been to Sushisamba at Heron Tower before, and it has ridiculously presumptuous and arrogant maître d's – if you are not a Hollywood/Premiership celebrity, forget a window table (and the view is the reason why you are there, ready to pay inflated prices). So, I was a bit uneasy when the website asked me to pay £40 deposit at the time of booking a sister, Sushisamba Covent Garden restaurant. But at the end it was fine. There is no view and the ambiance is rather average (with open kitchen you get some noise and smells), so the focus is on food. Sushi for appetizer was average but the seafood stew was excellent with unique combination of flavors and a decent amount of different seafood. Some portions are actually (almost) good for two, so if a couple is not extremely hungry, the damage to your wallet may be limited if you play it right (drinks come at a premium of course, but this is central London).
Be the first to ReplyGreat food but music was too loud
The music is too loud in this restaurant. When we asked for it to be turned down just a notch, the answer was an unhesitating "No". We shouted ourselves hoarse, two errors were made with our order (I am sure it was because we couldn't make ourselves heard over the music...). Eventually the manager arrived and switched us to a table that was marginally further from the speakers (but beware, the speakers are placed at very regular intervals and it is very hard to find a place where a speaker is not practically pershed on your shoulder). All in all, not for those who like to have a conversation. Otherwise, a smart place in a lovely setting, with very good food (just a shame we didn't quite get what we ordered).
Be the first to ReplyBad Service - Waiter over charged.
Service here was not great, my main issue was the waiter who took our payment, we asked to split the bill, he decided on what we should pay, it wasn't a lot extra, but he rounded it off to the nearest pound, it is not the waiter decision to do that, when he did it, he was avoiding eye contact, which made it very awkward, we was discussing this between us, looked at the waiter, he just looked away, basically ignoring us, we paid, as we needed to leave, but should of complained to the manager really, we are already paying a lot of money for the food and tip on top, which I personally don't think the staff deserved it as we had to ask multiple times for our drinks, trying to get their attention while they stand there talking to eachother. Most of the food was ok, some dishes betters than others, some dishes not worth the money, but over all, for what you are paying, the standard needs to be much better with service for sure. It's a shame, as the venue is beautiful.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food but music too loud
We had a late dinner here (10:45 pm). The food was excellent, as was the service. The restaurant decoration is attractive and it’s a nice space. However, the music was very loud and probably better suited to a lounge. We found it quite disturbing. If not for the music, I would have given a rating of 5.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food awful service
Food was amazing and restaurant was pretty. However service was awful especially for price point. We had no reservation so the girl suggested going on a waiting list and I would receive a text when my table was ready which I done. However I went online and was able to book a table for the exact time as long as I paid £40 reservation fee which is credited off your bill and got took straight to my table. So definitely not worth going on waiting list. Waiter came over for our drinks order then never came back, we waited 20 min to place food order. No one was attentive or even made eye contact. A very unwelcome atmosphere. We both had empty glasses but it was impossible to order more wine or water. Thankfully there is lots of little wine bars nearby that are welcoming.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location and ambience but quality of food is not consistent. Some dishes are outstanding and others are below par
Overall, it was very good but, some things were way below acceptable. At this high price point I’d expect a more consistent quality. We ordered the Kobe ribeye but, were quite disappointed as it seemed to be a poor cut of meat. We had it cooked medium rare as the staff suggested. What should have been a smooth, buttery taste ended up with more than a few chewy bits of what seemed like gristle. The white “gristly” bits can be seen in some pieces in the photo. I have never had something like this in any Kobe steak anywhere else. Considering the price, this should have been perfect but, it was far from it. Had this been priced 60% lower than it would have been OK but, certainly not at this price. The tempura shrimp could do with being a bot more crisp. Other than that, everything else was good - we had the taquitos, tiraditos, ceviche, skewers. The service was very good with attentive wait staff.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Food
Food was simply exceptional. Everything I tried was great: chicken, shrimps, veggies. My biggest surprise was asparagus as I was never fond of it but this time I really enjoyed it. Yummy!

Be the first to ReplyTruly brilliant service and food plus cocktails to did for
Honestly many high end london restaurants lack in the service element Sushi Samba CG does not they could not have been more welcoming or keen to ensure we had a great time. The food was exceptional. Beautifully presented and yummy. The surroundings gorgeous esp in summer with the glass side. The cocktails were next level and im very fussy, I don’t leave many reviews but I go to these kind of restaurants a lot and this place stands out and it felt like a real treat Yes it is expensive but no more so than other restaurants in this bracket, I think you know before you go and you shouldn’t go if this bothers you.
Be the first to ReplyFresh, tasty and extremly overpriced
I guess that is what you get in London but don't come here if you're hungry. The prices are out of this world, we ended up having edamame, broccoli and 2 types of sushi. For example a plate of asparagus was 14 pounds, 6 pieces of sushi for 16-22 pounds. However, everything was very tasty and fresh. The location is great and it is beautiful there, the service was also exceptional.
Be the first to ReplyOutrageously overpriced
Sol wrote a review for this restaurant and the manager responded to me saying that their prices are checked and compared monthly. The manager also commented that they would be interested to hear my comparisons. So firstly in my initial review I mentioned that I had had a vodka and tonic there but it was in fact a single monkey 47 gin and tonic. The shot of monkey 47 at sushi samba was £19 or £19.50 I can't remember without going to my receipts. Ive had a look round other bars in Covent Garden and the nearest to that price was £14 for the same size shot. So, sushi samba manager…...looks like you are indeed charging much more than you need to. I really don't have the time to do more research for you but people hopefully will be informed. Please read my earlier review for this place. Gordon Ramsay The Narrow Written 05/08/22 O Amazing lunch. +
Be the first to ReplyAmazing first time at Sushisamba
Went there in July for a business team event of approx 6 person . The experience start once you go the well decorated stairs and welcoming hostess to our seat . We were given the attention needed whenever we asked about the menu and recommendation for non - veg and vegan . The food was just exquisite and beautiful so insta friendly :) . The alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks were really good and well represented too. We spent our time taking pictures . The desserts such a success among everybody so good and beautifully made and thanks a lot for the candle on celebration of our team’s farewell .
Be the first to ReplyJapanese cultural experience at a price…?…mmm
We had spent all day walking around London and getting ripped off for food. Our daughter loves Japanese food so we managed to negotiate our way to the sushi bar. Food portions are small but tasted OK. Prices are very high and certainly not value for money. Staff generally too busy gossiping with each other but some with good service skills. ‘Ambient’ music provided by a DJ and deck so the general level of conversion was shouting level… not a memorable experience for the price..
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and food just ok
Had a table booked for over a month but when we arrived got the worst seat in the place - in the corner of the kitchen area next to a toilet. Service was intermittent and slow with more than 1 waiter serving us. Ridiculously overpriced and had better sushi elsewhere for a third of the price. They couldn’t wait to get us out with 3rd waiter taking payment very abrupt and unpleasant. Save your money and don’t bother

We had a fabulous time, just couldn’t fault the service excellent food amazing, will definitely be going back.
Be the first to ReplyBirthday drinks
We didn’t have to wait too long to be seated at the bar for a drink. They didn’t have all the ingredients for the drink we wanted, but the barman Nathan said he could do a variation, which was very nice. I mentioned we were celebrating my partner’s birthday and then a short time later a small chocolate cake was brought out, which was lovely. Overall all the staff were friendly, but Nathan in particular was fantastic. Highly recommend if you want a drink in a lovely space in Covent Garden.
