Great chooce
Dined with family and friends on a casual night out. We had a range of starters that were very enjoyable. We all had bowls for main. Mine was fried chicken with rice etc which was delicious.
Be the first to ReplyCash only which is very inconvenient for customers
Food was ok, but didn't take credit card, cash only at the end which made it super inconvenient for me as I was not aware of it beforehand. This is not a cheap restaurant and should at least consider to accept Visa card to make it easier on customer.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding Asian food
My wife and I ate her for her birthday dinner last night. The service was very good, but the food was excellent. Everything we tried was superb. We had the Cynthia role to start, which was fresh, crisp and tasty. Next, we had the pork belly and fried chicken baos. Again, fantastic. I complimented the chef on the food and he gave us a complimentary dish of garlic potatoes, which was excellent. We thought about getting this dish but opted for the chicken bao instead. We got to try both. For dinner, my wife had the yao yao ramen. The broth was like silk. I tried it and have to agree. I had the grilled salmon ramen, which was very good. We also had the ribs, which were outstanding. The meat falls off the bone and taste is fantastic. The restaurant only accepts cash but does have an ATM. I cannot recommend this place enough. I will agree with another reviewer on another platform that the place is a bit cramped, but in NYC that is to be expected. I don't think it merits taking off one star.

Half the menu is cold food: Maybe that's the secret to the pea shoot bok choy salad being served perfectly chilled. In a warm room on a chilly night, you realize how much the temperature of the greens adds to your enjoyment. We waited longer than estimated for our table, but didn't wait long for our orders. Server forgot a couple of items (she memorized instead of writing down about 10 items), but this was quickly remedied. Did not love the fois gras special, but that was the only dish (poke, maki, taco, ramen...) I wouldn't order again. Some seats in the very casual small place are stools - I was tired and happy to sit on the banquette side. Good value. Cozy space, warm people, delicious.

Me and my girlfriend came here for on a trip to New York. I ordered the chilli Pork Ramen. I was absolutely delicious, the right amount of chilli and the pork was cooked until it was falling apart beautiful. My girlfriend thought her Sushi was good rather than great but I wasn't able to try that.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Food, Warm & Inviting Atmosphere, Friendly Service
Bottom line first: Would definitely return...even with a wait for a table.
And we did, wait that is, at 9:00pm on a Wednesday evening for about 20 minutes! But they had a good system, they took our phone number and we went for a walk. It was worth it.
The menu was varied, I had the raman, my companion had sushi and both were very good; my noodles were al dente, the soup was tasty, the meat was tender while the sushi fish tasted fresh and the rice was pretty good.
Our meal lived up to the high rating, so I will add my own.
Sshhhh, let's keep this a secret!
Well, had 2nd thoughts about writing this review of Suzume, a quaint Japanese restaurant, after visiting as this is one of the small out of the way joints, you hope many people don't find out about, so you won't have to wait an enormous amount of time to get a table the next time you visit! But alas, the word is already out, and what Chef Josh delivers is pure heaven on the palette; so yes, folks are flocking to this place. Great food, friendly service at a moderate cost. A range of selective sushi starters and some very unique entrees and other dishes to certainly have you coming back for more. And oh the "Spam," remember from days gone by, had no idea it could be so flavorful and delicious, but served as a spam musubi made with pineapple, teriyaki & scallion, blew my socks off!. Man oh man, sooo good! So either go early or late if you don't want to wait, but do go, as it is certainly worth the vist. BUT, one important item to keep in mind, they ONLY ACCEPT CASH. But now you know, so just GO! :)
Be the first to ReplyGet the salmon Ramen
I tried the salmon ramen last time on a whim, and now this restaurant has escalated into my top favorites in the neighborhood. It's wonderful, not as greasy as other ramen, and the piece of salmon is quality. It's a tiny cramped place, so don't bring friends.
