SADD TO SEE TA-BOO CLOSE
TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTING TO SEE THE END OF TA-BOO AND WE SHALL ALL HOPE IT WILL APPEAR AGAIN IN PALM BEACH BEFORE TOO LONG.
Be the first to ReplyGreat dinner
What a fun place for dinner. Service was perfect (thank you Trel). Food was great. I had the grilled shrimp with penne. Shrimp were cooked perfectly. Loved the ambiance.
Be the first to ReplyLunch at the barโฆno rush, great crowd, great drinks great food
Great time at Ta-boo for my daughters birthday with my uncle. High season, scored seats at the bar. Great people watching. Great wine & local beer list, & they know how to mix a cocktail, too. The calamari & black bean soup are always good. Was happy to see the menu getting back to pre covid status. Cant wait to return!
Be the first to ReplyBad service, unsatisfactory food
We drove 45 minutes to dine at Taboo Palm Beach, and were looking forward to a great dining experience. Instead, we had sub-par service and the meal was disappointing. We enjoyed the gazpacho, wine and cocktail were good, bread was good, however the salads were warm to the touch, not cold. A $49 seafood salad was warm and underwhelming. The steak frites, oh my. The requested medium cooked steak came out raw, literally like red jiggly jello and cold. The waitress finally came over and returned he steak to the kitchen. After about ten minutes the steak came it cooked ok but was tough. The salad was warm and wilted, and the fries never arrived even though the waitress had said sheโd bring them out later. No manager ever came by however the waitress did offer to delete the steak frites from my bill. I would have gladly paid more for a decent meal.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent restaurant!
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner. The service was excellent and the food was very good. We had a nice table for two and it was quiet and romantic. I canโt say enough good things about the restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyComplained for tip out loud
I went here for dinner with family and explicitly asked to not present the the bill at the table as I was inviting for dinner the family. I paid and this average waiter just came to the table screaming out loud the total bill and complaining about the tip. I kindly asked to love away explaining the dinner was a surprise and he kept screaming. Food average good. Worse experience in service. They are probably used to huge tips even when not deserved Not recommended
Be the first to ReplyTired, dated, amateur service
No wonder it had lots of empty tables when their neighbors were fully booked. The food is just ok โ looks like the Taboo of old is history. We wonโt be returning.
Be the first to ReplyVery Disappointing
This was very disappointing Food wasnโt what I would have expect and service was less then expected. Would not attend again
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing
We have eaten at this restaurant a few times in the past but our recent visit was very disappointing. Rolls were stale, mussels were dry and stringy, French fries ridiculously salty, the bread on my husband's turkey sandwich was dry and the sandwich uninteresting. Key lime pie ?? gelatinous gloop. All this unimpressive food with a big bill. Give this restaurant a miss, there are plenty of others in the area where you will get better food and better value for your money. This was a birthday celebration, what a pity we chose Taboo.
Be the first to ReplyLegendary Restaurant Doesnโt Disappoint
We had an excellent dinner experience in this famous restaurant located on ritzy Worth Avenue. We went on a Wednesday night for an early dinner around 5:30, as the shops were closing during the off-season. This is a restaurant famous for itโs bar scenes, which was quiet this night. We had some terrific bread and dipping olive oil to start. We had a large plate of delicious calamari, more than enough for two. I enjoyed my meal of chargrilled shrimp and penne. It was cooked perfectly with a generous portion of shrimp. My wife ordered a salad with chicken and enjoyed her meal. The highlight of the dinner was dessert: Taboo Lust: a walnut cookie topped with coconut pudding with fresh-made whipped cream. If you like coconut cream pie, this is a must.
Be the first to ReplyTABOO WORTH AVE PALM BEACH ROCKS!
Fantastic place on Worth Ave Palm Beach Fl great atmosphere, location, staff food and more!! Mr Sunshine Eddy Shipek loves Taboo!!
Be the first to ReplyExpensive Meal/Average Food
I took my family for a treat on Worth Avenue. I've had very good experiences on the street in the Via areas (Pizza Ala Fresca).
I ordered the encrusted Pompano. There are half a dozen seafood restaurants in the area that are head and shoulders ahead of this one (Guanabanno's Jupiter, Reef grill, Caper and Cod). Save your money and go elsewhere as the meal was bland and unimpressive with a big bill at the end.
Great lunch place
If you want a combination of a lovely decor and ambiance, good food and excellent service, this is it. Thought that it would be touristy abut it seemed that many locals were also enjoying lunch there too. There is also an interesting history with this restaurant and was the favorite of many notables.
The greeter was friendly and accommodating and our food arrived promptly so we had time to sit and talk and get back to our shopping and exploring on Worth Avenue. Such a fun day.
Great lunch place
We went here for inch today. Loved it. Remember we coming to this sane restaurant a year ago on our last visit, and enjoyed it then too. Casual lunch, and it was perfect. We all somehow had the same dishโฆ. The chicken sandwich with Brie. It was yum. It comes with fries which, though weโre not crispy, weโre fresh abs delicious.
Be the first to ReplyLunch in the garden room
Sorry to say that one of our favorite places has deteriorated to the point of no return. Bread was stale, both rolls and sandwich bread. Manager apologized when told but admitted that no fresh bread is ever on hand these days. Coffee was served at lukewarm temp. Chicken salad was terrible, not at all like the description on the menu, tasteless and without even lettuce on the sandwich. Even the air conditioning was turned off. Restroom door squeaking throughout. No effort to improve anything !
Will not return or recommend.
Lovely late lunch
I'd last been to Ta-Boo about 20 years ago and it seemed different than then but my memory can fade. We went for a late lunch and our table was ready immediately. I would have liked to have sat at the bar but though it is a large bar all the seats were taken. Service was a bit laissez faire but adequate. I would also say the cocktails we started with were just ok. The bottle of white wine however was nice and not overly priced. All of our meal items was in the "good" range. We both had salads with a protein added. These were totally large enough for lunch entrees.
Be the first to ReplyAlways a fun stop for lunch!
I've been going to Taboo for almost twenty five years, whenever I visit Palm Beach.
It's a lovely little spot....quite lively...in the heart of Worth Avenue.
We have always been for lunch & love the crab stack, the brie & pear thin pizza, crab cake, tuna martini....& of course the great wines. Everything is always well prepared & predictable.
This is fun spot for getting together with friends or people watching.
Can't wait to visit again!
Great Thanksgiving dinner
Great Thanksgiving dinner! Everything was delicious all the trimming and the turkey were perfect! We love Ta-boo and weโve been going for years but we have never done a holiday meal there and we were very happy with the food the service and of course the style itโs fantastic! Great waiter Sebastian!
Be the first to ReplyNot a Palm Beach ladies that lunch place any longer
Iโve been going to Ta-Boo since the late 90s. It was typically the go-to lunch spot of Palm Beach. Now is it not only tired but the food and service are abysmal.
We had lunch here last weekend and every bit of the service was awful. We had to flag down our waiter to get basic water, find him again when he forgot to bring drinks- then one women ordered a Nicoise Salad w/green beans.
Salad arrived with a runner- no olives and no green beans, she thought they brought the wrong dish. No waiter in sight, so she finally was hungry and ate it. When he finally reappeared, he challenged her and said Nicoise is a part of France and the salad is not named for olives- WHAT? It was insane. we are at a nice restaurant and he doesnโt realize nicose salads are made with olives?
I will never go back. Itโs just a touristy place with gross food and bad service.
Ok as a last resort.
You eat here because you canโt get a reservation anywhere else. Itโs not absolutely horrible and the service is decent. The food and atmosphere are mediocre at best.
