Excellent and nothing fancy
This is a small place, a hole in the wall on a still-gritty strip of Sunset Blvd. near some very nice hotels. Iโve been coming for more than a decade, whenever I visit LA. The sushi is always outstanding. A longtime favorite. Never disappointed. Owner operated mom-and-pop.

Had hot sake, maguro, spicy tuna with crispy rice, sashimi combo, miso soup and edemame.
All was excellent except the spicy tuna as it had little taste to it.
Excellent sushi and would give this restaurant high marks for quality sushi.
Place it right behind Nori On Santa Monica Blvd!
Really good sushi
We went here with a group of friends and reserved the private dinner room which is great if you want to have an intimate meal With friends (but donโt expect anything fancy).
The sushi is really high quality and they have a lot of options. Also great sake!
Possibly the best Sushi in LA
Neighbourhood sushi spot, Possibly very much attended by locals. This place is small and intimate, you could possibly walk right by. I have spent lots of time in Tokyo and this is right up there with sushi I have had there. I have been going here for 15 years, I am from Europe, I get a warm welcome back every time. The sashimi is incredible, red snapper, Spanish mackerel, love the lobster rolls and the jalapeรฑo tuna. The salads are incredible. It's not fancy or hip, but feels all about the food. Dinner can be expensive, lunch is great value.
Be the first to ReplySmall Sushi Spot, Amazing Sushi & Feel
Loved this small sushi spot on Sunset Blvd, just a few minutes walk from The London Hotel (where we stayed and also recommend.). Mom & Pop style place with a great feel and we all agreed some of the better sushi we have ever had. Slower service because not a lot of employees but all the better to slow down and enjoy the quaintness of this place.

It's easy to walk right by Take Sushi on Sunset Boulevard, but you shouldn't. This is a very small, family run restaurant. We were a party of four and when we walked in, there were only about 5 tables for two plus the sushi bar area. We asked if there was a table for four, and they asked us to wait a few minutes, as the scurried about in a back room. We were taken all the way to the back of the restaurant to a room with one table, but enough chairs to seat about 8. This is probably where the family eats.
The food was great. I had shrimp and vegetable tempura, served with a salad, rice, and miso soup. Everything was tasty. I washed it down with a sake--there are sakes on the menu ranging from about $8 up to $65.
The place was almost empty when we walked in on a Monday night, but it shouldn't have been. This is a great place, and hopefully is filled up at other times.
