Outstanding Experience
Our party of four had a varied and delicious dinner! The menu offers a wide variety of options in terms of sushi, ramen, and grilled specialties. Service very friendly and efficient. Cannot wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyStumbled in for lunch
Totally got lucky landing here while actually searching for a different restaurant that ended up being closed. So I saw the ramen sign and decided to try it out. I mean, it WAS raining and cold that day so a bowl of ramen sounded very enticing! Not too crowded when I was there for a late lunch so service was friendly and fast! I ordered the Black Garlic Tonkotsu and a Japanese old fashioned from the bar. For me, the best thing about ramen is the broth and the noodles... Everything else is just icing on the cake to make it even better but I would be satisfied with just a good bowl of noodles and broth. Saying that to say, I can't speak on the ramen egg because I did not eat it. But it surely looked like a proper, well seasoned ramen egg that a lot of people love. The noodles we're cooked perfectly with just enough chew and the broth was fantastic. No complaints either on my old fashioned made with Japanese whiskey. It was an awesome way to warm up on that cold and rainy day. I will definitely be back.

The Tan Tan Ramen is, by far, the best ramen I've ever had. The broth is made with pig feet and neck and simmered for over 18 hours - rich and delish.
Be the first to ReplyVery happy Happy Hour
Awesome happy hour with awesome food!! This restaurant in Sacramento is a short walk from the Citizen Hotel, The food was cooked beautifully and well seasoned. I would recommend it to anyone. The service was also excellent! I had Fried tofu, shishito peppers, tempura eggplant and Poke salad. Yum!

I had found this restaurant on line last month for my husband and son to go to before a concert at the Crest. When he came home he RAVED about the food. I've been begging for him to take me ever since! Well he took me last night and it was incredible. We went for happy hour and the food was amazing. We did a ton of small plates and not one thing was average. The Yakitori is wonderful, so many things to choose from too, we had the chicken heart, beef tongue, pork belly, and scallops wrapped in bacon. Each one delicious and melt in your mouth. We also had the salmon sliders, these are not to be missed! Instead of a bun it was swaddled in a rice bun, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, whatever sauce was on it, I want a gallon of it! The poke salad was outstanding, the poke sat on a bed of seaweed salad and spiralized cucumber, very refreshing! The salmon truffle carpaccio was insanely good. We also had the truffle meiji fries, not really fries but tempura dipped mushrooms, it was hard not to eat them, although at this point I was really full. Their menu is so diverse it was really hard to choose and I really want to go back......daily!
Be the first to ReplyWhen I tell you this ramen was INCREDIBLE!!! And I don't even eat eggs!
Despite the risk of ravens copiously pooping on my new car, a friend and I stopped in for what turned out to be hands down, the best ramen I've ever had. The space and atmosphere were nice. Service was attentive and quick. Before taking the first sip of an Asahi I felt compelled to order (literally EVERYONE else in the restaurant had one), I was presented with a Japanese staple that transported me right back to Shibuya. I ordered the Black Garlic Tonkotsu with extra chashu (tcha-sieu...bbq pork). The bbq pork I normally order in ATL is a red glazed tangy favorite, but this was more like roasted pork belly. Delicious at any rate. The star of the dish though, was Ajitsuke!!! This soft boiled egg was unlike any other I'd ever tried. It was marinated in shoyu (type of soy) sauce. Umami in your mouth! Despite the commotion on the street, both human and avian (yes they pooped all over my new car), I'll be back and bring more friends.
Be the first to ReplyModern Izakaya, great seafood, Japanese Whiskey, happy hour, NICE!
"Well, Jerry, they're Japanese. I mean, that TV you watch, that sushi you eat, I mean, even that kimono you wear. Where to you think all that money goes, hmm?" - Kramer, Seinfeld Da Scene: In Oakland, were close to plenty of great Japanese spots, but were inland in Sac for a wedding, staying at the Citizen looking for a late lunch. Literally 1 block away, this is a nice open & modern space, large menu, full bar, even a happy hour. Note: Find a good selection of Japanese Whiskey here, even the elusive Hibiki 17! Da Grub: We tried bites of several things to get a feel for the place, tapas style: Ahi Poke Salad was a perfect started size for two, generous portions of ahi, lightly seasoned to let the tuna do the talking. Omakase Chicken Yakitori included perfectly grilled skewers of hearts, gizzards, and thigh. We were too early for the duck or pork belly so went with Ankimo and Miso Clams, both excellent. Then something odd - Roasted Bone Marrow in an Izakaya?... yep, if it's crowned w/ delicious dollops of Uni, wha, wha? Yeah, dat's right. This was good, as decadent as it sounds, but somehow needed a bit of sweet against the savory - like carmalized onions or a compote. This dish deserved a couple of slices of grilled Acme, not the small rounds it came with; the only small disappointment of the meal. Da Service: Prompt, gave opinions on menu, pointed out happy hour offerings, checked in enough, and brought the check at the right time. Casual but professional and friendly. When in town again, we'll be back to try the raw bar, ramen and dinner offerings. Love the full bar in a Japanese spot. Kanpai!
Be the first to ReplyMushroom Toast dish was amazing
So delicious- noodles for everyone! All of it outstanding! I ordered mushroom dish- can't remember the name- but it came with toast to spread the mushrooms on - the mushrooms were in a delicious butter/wine sauce - so tender and full of flavor. Try it!

Went for lunch with a coworker. It was cold and rainy, and we were wanting something warm. RAMEN!! I had the Black Garlic Tonkotsu ramen...and it was fantastic! Hit the spot for lunch and warmed our belly's. It was busy during the lunch hour, so we ended up sitting at the bar.
