Service is great and I love buying bread whether it's the olive or oatmeal - if I take it to a gathering, it's always a hit.

Adding another review as the pies were so good! I highly recommend trying the banana cream pie. It was very good and was a great size for sharing. We also got the coconut cream pie, but I prefer the banana cream!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot, great food and pastries.
Arrived on a Friday afternoon, right at 12pm. The wait in line was under 15 minutes to order at the counter. The menu is definitely enticing with a range of soups, salads and sandwiches and plenty of beverages. Banana Tart is highly recommended!

Went here around 3pm but I believe they were sold out on most things. I was able to try their regular croissant, chocolate croissant, and tres leches cake. The texture of their croissants is amazing. Super flakey and soft. I preferred the chocolate over the regular as iI found the regular to be lacking in butter. The tres leches was pretty good flavor wise, but it wasn't as moist as I would have liked. I'll definitely have to come back to try their other items!

This spot is a mile away from my house, I've had it bookmarked for forever, but I just now came around to it. PRO TIP: The line is totally worth it. I got the must have Banana Cream Tarte, Almond Frangipane, and a Tres Leches cake. The Banana cream was my favorite! So light, creamy, and fluffy. The different textures from the crust was ahhhhmazing. The tres leches cake had a little flakiness to the bottom of the cake and the cake itself was moist and not too sweet. Perfection if you ask me. I totally want to come back and try their menu. Their pastries and baked goods are delicious I can only imagine their food is just as good.
Be the first to ReplyThe line can get pretty long during prime lunch times.
The service was quick no frills. Morning buns: flakier and more citrussy! It never fails to disappoint with the sweet crystals and flaky pastry combination. Sandwiches were pretty good. I would love to try more of the pastries next time. Much smaller location than the one in Los Angeles. Parking is difficult.

We only came here because we just watched a "Feeding Phil" Episode. I think it's overrated, I ordered the ham sandwich in a croissant, it was OK. I have had way better.
Be the first to Replyl just paid $7.
33 for a baguette REALLY ??? I paid half the price for the same baguette (actually it was 1/3 larger) from JANE THE BAKER .
Be the first to ReplyI have eaten at Le Taillevant.
3 Michelin Stars on Rue de Friedlander in Paris. Tartine is at that level. The details of the experience sit as a dream. I had the Babka and the Hash. My wife had the croissant with Ham, Cheese, and roasted Jalapeño. And the bread, butter, and the Strawberry jam with a little spice. Accompanied by creamy lattes and great service? It's a wonderful experience from start to finish. I was even warned the ordering was an ordeal. Untrue. Smooth, charming, and charismatic systems, processes, and people helped us. There was even a vintage Izod sweater on display to remind us that we were somewhere we would remember. No doubt about that.

It's disappointing when a hyped up place doesn't live up to its expectations, but luckily that isn't the case with Tartine. You won't regret waiting in line to try the baked goodies here. I came around 8:30 on a Saturday morning and only had to wait about 10 min. It's a small bakery with just a few tables so most people take their orders to-go. If you come here, you have to try their bread whether it be as a sandwich or a loaf off the shelf. Their Country Loaf ($14.25) is the one of the best sourdoughs I've had. It has a nice crunchy crust and is perfectly soft and airy inside. I also liked their Pain Au Jambon ($6.95) aka ham and cheese croissant. It was light, flaky and cheesy. A more filling option is a slice of Ham and Potato Quiche ($9.50). The filling was fluffy and flavorful. For something sweet, go for the Morning Bun ($5.95). It's cinnamon sugary and has a hint of orange zest that gives it a unique flavor. If you really have a sweet tooth, the Banana Cream Tart ($10.95) is a must. The caramel in it makes it extra good. There are three locations in the city but this is the original one. It's definitely worth a visit when you want to splurge on some treats.
Be the first to ReplyBest bread I have ever tasted in my life.
Get yourself the book of the owner and be able to make it yourself. Their bread is still slightly better because of the professional steamed ovens but you can come very close at home. Also tried the croissants, which where very good. Not as light and buttery as the once in France but more dense and tasteful.

Damn, I forgot photos but the baked goods are good!!ALMOND LEMON POPPYSEED TEACAKE: almond, lemon zest, poppy seeds. Just wonderful, not too sweet, perfect touch of the lemon zest, and a good grab and go. PAIN AU JAMBON: ham and gruyère croissant. Toasty, crunchy, flakey and a bit Smokey on the croissant itself. Amazing! A thin slice or two of ham between! Delicious baked good! :)

However. The best bakes goods, European in taste, is served up here.

Tartine is a classic, you can't really go wrong with anything here. Be prepared to stand in a line any day of the week. Their pastries are obviously stellar but I'd also recommend their sandwiches and quiche - pro tip ask for your quiche warmed up and eat immediately!
Be the first to Replynot bad, really tasty and flaky croissants.
chocolate croissant we ordered had too much chocolate for my liking but kids loved it.the only thing I'd complain about is how long it took for my coffee order, 10 minutes at least. my kids finished their croissants by the time I got my coffee. there is 1 coffee station so during busy times, orders back up. for such a popular place, maybe a larger coffee operation is in order.
Be the first to ReplyWe ordered a bit of everything and loved it all.
This place did not disappoint and we will be back for the cinnamon sugar roll and savory brioche. So good!

Be the first to ReplyThis place has amazing pastries.
There's usually a long wait so expect to be standing in line for about 15 minutes, and make sure to bring cash. I got the chocolate croissant and it was so fluffy and crispy on the outside! I definitely want to come back and try other baked goods.

The options here are eye watering, unless you have a gluten allergy then maybe this place isn't for you. If you are not one of those unfortunate fellows, you are in for a real treat. All lovers of bread, and flakey crusts will feel as if entering a temple, or similar holy place. There have been show segments and entire episodes that worship this place, so i need not go on. Take the risk, find out for yourself.
Be the first to ReplyGreat, delicious pastries.
Efficient service. You often see a line out the door but it always moves quickly. Bistro aesthetic is perfect for eating there. Ply a couple outside tables. So good I can only go a few times a year.

It's crowded but for good reason! Their baked goods are delicious! The staff is nice but terse since they are so very busy. I recommend the almond croissants! Yum!

I ordered the 6 inch chocolate soufflé cake for a group of 5, and we loved every bite! The cake was so creamy and soft that the minute we removed the plastic wrapping along the side, the cake deflated slightly in the best way. Ate with espresso and it was perfect!
Be the first to ReplyBusy french bakery with all the classic pastries and coffee.
Just a few seats indoors. A bit loud at times with background music.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, including breakfast.
Incredible pastries. Coffee is good but I've had better.
