Worth it! 🥐
Wildly popular local gem that mostly lives up to the hype! Best items on the menu to me are the Smoked Salmon Tartine and the Pressed Ham & Gruyère Sandwich. The standard baked goodies like the Almond Croissant are also delicious. Great neighborhood in the Mission to walk around and enjoy before or after brunch too!

Went for brunch and not disappointed. Bustling place. Loved seeing the bakery. Efficient service, fantastic espresso and tasty food.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, amazing ambiance
Great ambiance and amazing food! My favorites were the smoked salmon tartine and chocolate chip cookie. They sell a collection of their cookbooks and merch at the front of the store too.
Be the first to ReplyCooler space than the other location!
Great bakery items but the full brunch menu is fantastic. Great coffee and lattes too! The ambiance and space is much bigger and cooler than their bakery location IMO.
Be the first to ReplyAll Time Best Breakfast
Our son had heard about Tartine and we went our of our way to go for breakfast on our first day in San Francisco. We were glad we did. We went early and got right in without a wait. All of the breakfast items exceeded our expectations. The Avacado Tartine was the best we have ever had anywhere. The bread was so good we bought a loaf of Sour Dough that we enjoyed for the next few days.

Used to be great. :-( We ordered my favorite melted cheese sandwich which used to be delicious! Now, you’d be hard pressed to find any cheese on this sandwich. Really a bummer!

Sat for a coffee and cookie. Cookie was big and amazing taste. Coffee was also nice taste and quality. Calm relaxing atmosphere. Menu had a good variety.

This place actually lives up to the hype. We had a great time and just kept ordering and ordering. Coffee drinks were amazing, as were the bread and pastries. It’s a beautiful light airy space, too. The Baklava Babka is to die for
Be the first to ReplyGood food --- but not interested in online ordering while in the restaurant
Arrived and was warmly welcomed and seated around 11 am on Friday. We sat by a window enjoying the open space with an expansive view of bountiful loaves of sourdough bread and pastries. We scanned the QR code for the menu and noticed it wasn't typical brunch fare, the options were limited but interesting. We had the sourdough bread with butter, the beet humus, whipped ricotta, side of egg and coffee. Tasty and pricey. Now for the strange part. We waited around quite a bit for someone to take our order and finally nabbed a waitress who told us we had to order online on our phones. Uh, so this is the new normal? Ordering through your phone while you’re sitting in the restaurant? Click, add to cart, click, add to cart, oh, hold on…I have a question, look around, where is that waitress again? It was like ordering take-out from home but you're in the restaurant. AND... you’re invited to click on 3 different tip options and pay by credit card. Scratching my head here on how to gauge the level of tip when I haven’t received the service, or do I rate my own service on how long it took me to go through this online ordering system. The food arrived shortly after but the whole dining experience was just odd. I’m all for efficiency but if I wanted to order my food own phone on an app, I’d have stayed home. Part of the enjoyment of dining out is learning about the menu options through the staff and maybe even have someone ask about my meal. Oh, but the app did thank me for ordering… or was that my friend who asked me to help her with her online order.
Be the first to ReplyPricey but good
Friendly attentive staff, very short menu with lots of add ons available. Very good food, pricey. Interesting industrial ambiance.
Be the first to ReplySolid pastries and breakfast with dine in and take out options
Great breakfast spot. We arrived at 9 and there was a long line to get into the seated dining area. We opted to order takeout and eat on a bench, though the dining line moved quickly since they were just opening up. We ate the ham + jalapeño croissant and an omelette with avocado. Both were 10/10 amazing - the buttered bread that came with the omelet was surprisingly the favorite. We also took a chocolate sea salt cookie and chocolate babka to go which were great as well. Staff was kind and the ambiance was bright. A tasty experience.

Great service and speedy ordering system using QR code. The bread was absolutely delicious, so was the tomato soup. Two of us ordered the turkey club which came with crispy chicken skin(great idea). One had the cheese sandwich that came with chutney and finally one had avocado toast. Everything was great with the exception of excessive lemon in the mashed avocado.

If I could I would give Tartine 6 stars. I am a bread lover and for me that was the best sourdough bread I ever had. My hub and I went for a breakfast. I had a delicious avocado toast and by hub a ham&cheese croissant, no words to say how delicious. We also asked for a almond croissant and an extra bread (with butter and gooseberry jam), all yummy! Service is great too.
Be the first to ReplyGood, but not amazing
Enjoyed friendly service (a little chaotic as many places are during these trying times) but we finally got correct order. The omelet was good (although not special) and the citrus morning roll was flavorful. We ordered two croissant sandwiches that were very good. Went without reservations and were seated within 15 minutes.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing! MUST do for breakfast in SF
AMAZING
Since I wrote to them to make a reservation the service was amazing, the actually advise that due the pandemic only it is allowed to sit outside, we ordered a couple of things from the Manu everything was crazy, the scrambled eggs burger is from another word!! and the smell of fresh bread while picking the products is an experience for the senses.
It is simply the best
There is nothing for breakfast or brunch that compares to it. It is simply the best. If you don't go there while in San Francisco you are missing a great meal... maybe your best meal there.
Be the first to ReplyA Brunch Must!!
It is a MUST to come here while in SF. I loved it so much I made sure to visit again before my trip ended. They have done very well with keeping things safe with COVID reopenings. Definitely recommend their almond croissant, best I have ever had!
Be the first to ReplyPricey but a Great Indulgence if the seasonal menu is right
I have enjoyed dining in this place for the past two years on my annual visits to San Francisco. Drawn by the success of their bakery a few blocks away, this restaurant provides a more spacious and comfortable dining area with a wider meal menu that is often as creative and delectable as their bakery creations.
The overall ambiance is comfortable and chic but it can get really loud once the area gets filled. Its popularity has become widespread so waiting for a table can take a while (without a reservation). There is limited spacing between tables so you may occasionally have the unfortunate experience of having presumptuously obnoxious characters seated on an adjacent table. However, their seasonal menu usually offers a unique dish or two that makes it all worth any of these minor side-inconveniences.
Serving sizes are modest but their presentation and overall flavor are usually impressive enough to make lunch or dinner worth savoring. Though not everything on the menu may fit this description, carefully filtering through the menu items with a few guiding inquiries with your friendly server can go a long way in choosing that dish that will leave you wondering how its flavor was even conceived.
The Manufactory also sells, in a separate store-section, many of the noteworthy Tartine bakery pastries but this section is only open for a portion of the day (i.e. closes in the late afternoon) and offers only a limited variety compared to their bakery location.
Overall this remains an ideal place for a small group of friends, or a calm treat with a loved one.
Very tasty but you will pay
The food was excellent but it was expensive. I highly recommend the bread and butter. Everything we ate was delicious! A foody would love this restaurant since it has a wide variety of tasty items to choose from. And have a cocktail- they were also excellent.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced cuisine in a trendy space
We invited our best friend to Tartine Manufactory to thank him for taking care of our things and spend quality time with him. We enjoyed our meal at this trendy restaurant but, unfortunately, it is quite overpriced; hence, be prepare to spend a lot of money for the experience but know that there are plenty of restaurants and cafe out there in San Francisco and the rest of the world where you can savor fine dining and awesome ambiance for much less.
We enjoyed the small plates (house-smoked trout was tasty and little gems rather refreshing), entrees (rigatoni with meat was tasty and rich but the two orders of wolfe ranch quail was quite bony) and desserts (tres leches cake was so-so, chocolate soufflé cake was sinfully delicious, and orange brioche morning bun sundae was fantastic). The cocktails were delicious but also overpriced.
We found the receptionist quite nice and the wait-staff very informative and lovely. We were able to reserve our table in advance for this Thursday dinner. We will not return because we'd ather invest in other fine dining places that are more reasonably priced; for example, we can get a better foodie experience at the number one restaurant in Tallin, Estonia for 50 euro/person instead of paying $100/person for this Tartine Manufactory outing.
Nothing special
Tartine is known for their great pastries and they have that at Tartine Manufactory but their breakfast menu is nothing special and fairly expensive. Parking in the area is a nightmare on a weekday.
