As a home baker, the star of Tartine Manufactory is the bread, and it absolutely does not disappoint on that front. You can select from a variety of freshly baked, rustic sourdough loaves, which are brimming with all kinds of toppings and additives. There is a lovely pastry case, where a varied assortment of flaky and decadent treats are on offer. I came for the bread, but I stayed for the lunch. I was able to order a few slices of bread and butter (such a great idea) and had that accompanied by a soup and a salad that was so much better than it had any right to be. Though I came at peak lunch hour, the line moved briskly and service was efficient. The atmosphere is fun- it's got that kind of industrial open concept thing going for it. If I were a local, this place would be my haunt on Sundays, or maybe even for a cheeky coffee break here and there.
Be the first to ReplyVery noisy.
Lots of kids out of control. Ham and Gruyère sandwich contained sliced jalapeños and not green tomatoes. Potatoes were well cooked and crispy but, the aji sauce was dull and bland versus fruity. It was not pleasing. The food was served before the coffee. Coffee should have been served first. Servers were not proactive but, had to ask for items. To pricey. Enjoyed Tartine on Guerrero more.
Be the first to ReplyLine moves pretty fast and then you can grab a table.
The salmon tartine was absolutely delicious! Very cute ambiance and recommend checking out Heath Ceramics next door before/after.

I was in the Bay Area and oh so close to Tartine! I had to go as I am into baking and have the famous book by the owner. I was not disappointed, everything I ordered was excellent. I would return in a heartbeat. I was like a kid in a candy shop. It was so exciting to see all the bread being made and shaped that I had read about. Everything I tasted was five stars. Sorry no pics of my Vanilla latte, croissant, apple pastry, chocolate chunk cookie, and bread. I did get video though. Enjoy !

Absolutely incredible food + atmosphere! This was probably the best breakfast sandwich I've had, and the chai latte was great as well.

I've seen a number of large trucks park and get deliveries in and out of here. I was so happy I was able to find parking. I just need to get here at 8:45 on a Saturday morning! Lol everything was very well labeled and I really like how everything is open and while you're waiting in the dining area, you can actually watch the Bakers fold and prepare the bread in little baskets!! I'm guessing the yeast has to Have time to rise so that's where the rolls get to do their magic! The server was incredibly friendly and polite, and everything was very open and well lit! I also liked the fact they had a full bar in the dining area as well as nice open, lighting from windows all the way around, as well as some track lighting. There was also a coffee bar on the other side of the café area, and both areas seem to be busy. Very nice, busy atmosphere, with a delicious smell of fresh baked bread and morning pastries!! I will definitely be back!!
Be the first to ReplyI wish I could give this 10 stars for the bread.
Really has no business being this amazing. I thought, "eh, we'll try the bread and jam, seems like it'd be a nice appetizer." SOOO amazing, every bit of it. Ambience, servers, food and coffee were just as great!

I have loved Tartine for 10+ years but had not been to this location. This space is great. There are tons of tables and the usual selection of amazing pastries and baked goods. My personal favorite are the ham and cheese croissant, the bread pudding, and the morning bun.

We were just visiting in SF and a friend recommended this place. Loved the food, ambiance, and service was amazing. There was a line when we got there, but it moves fast.

In my opinion- this is the second best bakery in San Francisco. The Brunch here is simple and fantastic. My favorite treat here is their morning bun and is NOT TO BE MISSED- it's flaky sugary sweet on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside with just a hint of citrus. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Tartine has not lost the hype- every dish we got was absolutely incredible and the wait after putting our name down was not long at all. It is a bit pricey but we got the: - bread and butter (baked to perfection)- french toast (amazing balance of sweet and nutty)- potatoes (to die for)- brie grilled cheese sandwich (just wow) - coffee (so smooth) - avocado toast (very refreshing)Id get all these things again and bring back everyone I know.
Be the first to ReplySlightly overpriced and overrated.
The food was ok but not match the hype. Love those cute lanterns on the ceiling. Wish they can work a little bit more on the food. The winter citrus was quite bitter and lack of sweetness. The grapefruit was not sweet causing the walnut becoming the only source of sweetness.
Be the first to ReplyMy sister chose this place for breakfast.
There is no parking so keep in mind you will have to circle around to find an open spot. You scan the menu and pay for your food on your phone. The total includes an automatic tip. My friend actually took off the tip before paying. I wish I would've known there was that picture. He said where there is a tip. You just press custom and you can pay your own amount or choose not to. The items were very expensive. For a small bowl of roasted potatoes and it cost $12. My Brie sandwich was $16.25, all by itself! Next time I would grab their delicious bread and pastry to go and fix my own breakfast sandwich.

I bought a loaf of bread over there, which was kind of mediocre, they charged me an outrageous $13+, which after tax almost got up to $15 bones, and of course they have the audacity to expect you to tip on top of that.a total SCAM
Be the first to ReplyGood food, good portions, and fast.
Big complaint, they are encouraging everyone to use QR codes including to place their order. Instead of spending time with your friends everyone is on their phone trying to place their order. Gets even more challenging and frustrating when someone has food allergies. Would definitely rather order at a counter than use said QR codes.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for lunch.
Ambiance is great and service is very fast! One thing that is frustrating is the use of QR codes - I know this is getting really popular but I would rather order at a counter for the purpose of quick service.I ordered the turkey sandwich and a flat white. I was not blown away by the sandwich, but the flat white was really good and so was the bread. I would come here again for coffee but not sure this is the best lunch place given the high prices and limited menu.

We were lucky enough to get seated right away on Super Bowl Sunday. I love this place! The hash was amazing and I love the pastrami sandwich. They're bread is absolutely insane. I wish I knew how they make such incredible and consistent loaves. Their banana pie was also incredibly good, although I was disappointed with the Tres leches cake, and the apple hand pie. Those were not very good to be honest. Still, this place is consistently awesome and I love that their menu changes. I will be back.

I love the bread at tartine so I figured tartine manufactory would be equally as good, but unfortunately I was a bit disappointed. The food was very average and the portions were pretty small given the price. It ended up being close to $50 for 2 toasts and an iced tea. I'd probably come back to try some of the other dishes, but don't think i'll be trying any more of their toasts.

Walked in Sunday afternoon to pick up some bread, but they were completely sold out. The great thing about this location though is that they will have some for you to order in the restaurant to dine in. Amazing bread with amazing butter, and can't go wrong with any of their pastries. Favorites are morning bun and plain croissant for perfectly crispy buttery layers.

Lovely location a bit off the beaten path for breakfast/brunch. They're the sister restaurant to the famous Tartine bakery in the Mission district, with a focus on bread and pastries, which they also sell from a bakery counter within this space. This is a beautiful, airy open-plan converted industrial space w/lofty ceilings, seating around 50. Came on a Sunday morning at 9am and was able to grab a spot for 9 (five adults, 4 children), at one of their larger communal tables. By the time we left an hour or so later the entire space was full. I heard that usually the wait can be out the door so glad we got there early! Menu is accessed via scanned QR code a food came out about 10 minutes after we ordered. There was a smoked salmon tartine and French toast which I didn't try but my friends enjoyed. I tried the crispy bacon, eggs and brisket potatoes hash $21, and the coddled eggs $21. Brisket hash had these terrific crispy potatoes and perfectly poached egg. The coddled eggs were creamy with a little punch of umami from the fish roe, a delicious complement to the fresh toasted bread. Also got a couple pastries to go--ham and cheese croissant and chocolate croissant--both were perfect examples of French pastry! On the pricier side for pastries but the overall quality and experience was worth it. Fantastic service all around too!

3.5 stars. Great quality here...I've always come for the baked goods and decided to order some fresh made food for lunch. I expect to pay a little more being that it's SF and also due to it being Tartine....but the egg sandwich put me over the top. I ordered it with bacon as well without looking at the price and it came out to $17...DAFUQ?! If anybody has been to eggslut or egg head in the south bay you know you can get a damn good egg sandwich made in the same likeness and better flavor for considerably less. Otherwise, come for the baked stuff (but especially the tarts) and you won't be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic lunch! Staff were super friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was clean and calming despite that there was an active bread factory only few away from dining tables.Treat yourself to the chicken club

I've been wanting to check out this spot for brunch so I took my friends here and it was a yummy experience. The space is really bright and beautifully decorated. There's a line on the weekends so definitely prepare to wait or get here early. Here's what we got: * ham quiche * sandwich * little gem salad * pistachio French toast * vanilla tart * tartine's famous banana cream tart I personally really liked the ham quiche and thought it was just the right amount of food. However, the desserts were on the sweeter side.

If you're trying to come for a sit down on a saturday, expect like a 1.5 hr wait....so we said no thank and did the to go line instead which is much more worth it. They have the same exact menu and there's benches around to sit at and eat the food. We've been to the original bakery and thought it'd be cool to check out this location. The food here is really really good but also quite pricey. Highly recommend the breakfast sandwich with bacon. And the turkey club. Don't forget to grab a chocolate croissant and/or morning bun which is what they're known for.

If you love pastries or are a baking nerd this place is a must. The smell of this place is out of the world. From the smell of the natural fermentation process, hot and toasty pastries coming right out of the oven to fresh brewed coffee, this place screams amazing breakfast. I have never ordered so many carbs in my life. I got the jalapeño ham and cheese croissant with and without egg. I recommend the one with egg because it's more hearty and toasty than the regular version; although neither would disappoint. The morning bun at this place was also amazingly caramelized and sticky but not overly sweet. The country sourdough is the most crusty yet delicate slice of bread I've ever put in my bread. It's perfectly chewy and has a full flavor profile. (Don't forget the butter! life is too short to not enjoy a bit of butter)The ambiance of this spot is also wonderful. So much natural lighting, very clean and nice staff. They also have a to-go section which is fantastic if you don't wanna dine in.
