Fetch bakery experience in the heart of Santa Monica.
Tasty pastries and croissants are very flaky and done right. Hot chocolate was very different and tasted great.
Be the first to ReplyI had pick up duties at LAX, so I decided to go to Tartine
I had pick up duties at LAX, so I decided to go to Tartine in Santa Monica, for lunch before heading to the airport. In order to get there from the SFV, one has to get onto Wilshire Blvd., West and even though it's just a few miles off, it takes forever. Chocking traffic everywhere. It is definitely a challenge to get there if you count the stop and go on 405. When I got to my destination, the parking lot was full so I had to circle the block a few times to get street parking. There was a line outside the door, but it moved fast. However, I found the male staff who took the order and the ones who brought the order to the table to be unfriendly no greeting no hello no acknowledgment that you were even there. My table was dirty and he came back to clean after delivering the food, as if he was doing me a favor. The menu is very limited, but there are good selections. Similarly, the baked goods in the cases were also few, but looked delicious. I had the smoked salmon tartine. It was a nice presentation that was also well assembled. The toast had a good crunch and freshness to it and it blended well with the salmon, pickled onion, pickled mustard seeds, whipped cream, cheese, and dill. I think they should've left out pickled lemon that came with the dish. Tartine had ample seating outside and limited seating inside. The place is very popular and while I was there, there was always a line to order the food. Will have to drum up some extra courage to battle the traffic of to get there, if and when I decide to pay them a return visit.
Be the first to ReplyI've been wanting to go here for a long time.
The line moves quickly. The food tasted great. The outdoor seating area is beautiful. This place is dog friendly so it's a big plus. Will be going back for sure.

Be the first to ReplyThis was our second visit to Tartine, and Tartine hit all
This was our second visit to Tartine, and Tartine hit all the right boxes. We ordered pastries and coffee. The scone, savory roll, croissant and morning bun all were fresh and tasting wonderful. We enjoy every bite. Weather was so nice we sat in garden area outside. Overall inside and outside were very clean and well kept. Counter employees were really helpful and polite. All and all our experience were five star attempt. I will come back next time when I in LA.
Be the first to ReplyTartine really is such a lovely little spot.
From the very cool interior to the spacious garden exterior, it's a delight to eat here every time. I'm especially fond of their cafe au lait, and when paired with any one of their delicious pastries - a chocolate croissant or some lemon poppyseed tea cake, in my case - it's a real treat. Parking can be somewhat contentious. There's a paid lot where most folks end up parking, I imagine, and some sparse street parking shared with a few other local spots. Still, they validate, so if you're just looking for a quick bite, chances are good you'll be in and out - and with a full stomach - in no time.
Be the first to ReplyI adore Tartine this place always hits no matter what.
I love to come here and sit outside and do work while enjoying a coffee. Also, the celeb sightings here go crazy! My friends and I one time saw Owen Wilson! I really like their yogurt bowl and their ice vanilla lattes. It's an order and then sit situation, which is nice. There also is a parking lot which is a slay and they validate! Love this place
Be the first to ReplyMy friend and I stopped here for coffee on a Friday morning.
The line went out the door, but it moved fast. I got a drip coffee, and my friend got an American and a ham and cheese croissant. I've had their pastries before, and the ones that I've tried are very good. Their presentation is always incredible. The service was okay; the staff seemed a bit stressed due to the business. The inside of the cafe is beautiful; it looks like it's inside of an old church.
Be the first to ReplySo delicious! Loved the indoor outdoor seating options.
Not too long of a wait, but worth it because of how fresh and delicious it is!

Tartine has great bread, treats and their food menu is the best. All the breakfast items are amazing. Their drip coffee is also great. Always a treat to go and eat there.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was right across the street from our hotel.
The food was incredible. We went back two times before we left. The outdoor seating was really enjoyable and service was quick. I would highly recommend. The wait was worth it!
Be the first to ReplyI paid about $20 for a breakfast sandwich and the sausage
I paid about $20 for a breakfast sandwich and the sausage was bright pink. I then asked for a new sandwich and it was equally as bad. The coffee was good but the pink sausage left a bad taste in my mouth both literally and figuratively. I'm all for paying more for a solid product but this simply wasn't it.
Be the first to ReplyBread was delicious and food was not bad either.
Had the tuna sandwich which was filling and tasted fresh. Would definitely go back and try other items
Be the first to ReplyThis location is beautiful.
The bakery is in an old church, which has a classic feel and modern touches. The pastry case is STACKED. highly recommend the morning bun, which is not pictured because we couldn't wait to eat it! It was the perfect doughy, flaky consistency with a hint of orange. A but pricy, but I would honestly say you get what you pay for. High quality and would definitely come back again!

Great yummy food and relaxed atmosphere with nice outdoor space. Dog friendly! Fantastic French pastries!
Be the first to ReplyBest little gem in Santa Monica.
I work near here and my boss brought me to this location. I'm so thankful. The Lemon tart and Almond croissant is heavenly. No other bakery can duplicate. I love their food, cappuccino, ambience and the people who work there are the best. If you are in Santa Monica this is a top notch bakery you must try out! It's almost always busy and parking lot is small but everyone knows how the parking is in SM. Find a parking and enjoy the deliciousness.

Hey that's some pretty good toast! This is a nice spot for a light brunch. Great outdoor seating and fast service.
Be the first to ReplyAmbiance is authentic.
Matcha is unsweetened, which is rare in LA and valuable for me. Prices are high. The notes on the tables encouraging you to purchase and leave within 60 minutes are kinda rude, never understood those time limits in many places around the US. I am aware you guys are running business, but this thing really makes your customers (at least me and my husband it does) feel not very appreciated and welcomed here. Can one fully enjoy constantly checking the time?
Be the first to ReplyFirst time having a tartine and it was amazing.
Delicious and beautiful. The morning bun was also one of the most delicious and unique bread I have ever had. The place itself is beautiful, the interior decoration was simple yet elegant. The outside patio was nice as wells With that being said, the only down side is the price. $17 for a tartine and $6 for piece of bread is not something I can afford often. Would go again for special occasions but cannot afford on the regular. The price is too much of a turn off to not ignore.
Be the first to ReplyReally good cafe with fresh baked goods.
Some nice outdoor seating. Really pricey given the casual atmosphere. Our check for two was $60. Minus 1 star due to the price and that my breakfast sandwich came with brioche bread.
Be the first to ReplyVery cute place.
The ham croissant was scrumptious. Sandwiches are mostly bread but hey, nothing wrong with some good sourdough.
Be the first to ReplyI ate lunch here every day for about two weeks.
The food is delicious and special. Their salads taste healthy. The tuna salad sandwich is very substantial. Of course their French baked pastries, breads, and treats are amazing. Prices are very high though, not a bargain meal considering you place your own order inside, get your own water, find your own table, and bus your own dishes. You receive a number after you order and staff delivers your food. Staff is very friendly and helpful. If staff isn't too busy they will bus your dirty dishes for you.
Be the first to ReplyI got their avocado toast, almond croissant and cortado!
I got their avocado toast, almond croissant and cortado! The toast was amazing!!! The perfect amount of crispness and so fresh! Same with the croissant!I liked the coffee too. The fact that they knew what's cortado is says enough, lol
Be the first to ReplyI usually go to Starbucks but I came here by recommendation.
It has beautiful garden and it is very pretty inside, great service. I had gluten free muffin and matcha. Muffin is crispy on top and not too sweet and I am glad I have came here. I recommend.
