Tasty Indian Bistro | Yaletown Vancouver Reviews from The Last Year
Came here as it was recommended by our Lyft driver and it
Came here as it was recommended by our Lyft driver and it exceeded my expectations! Living in the Bay Area, I feel we have some exceptional Indian food. However, paneer is one dish that I don't care for, but my mind was changed after dining here! The restaurant is huge, classy elegant vibes, but everyone dressed casually. I wish I remember our waitress' name, but she was so sweet and helped us pick our dishes. Their cocktails are unfortunately not customizable so went with my trusty Moscow Mule. We ordered Masala fries, pudina paneer tikka, butter chicken, kadahi paneer, rice, and naan. The masala fries were stickier than I imagined and overpowering in flavor, but I kept going back to them. Butter chicken was pretty good, heard they sell the sauce by the bottle! The kadahi paneer was a bit too spicy for me, even at medium level, but good. But the pudina paneer tikka was the star! Came on a sizzling plate, nice and hot, onions, mint, and paneer that was the perfect texture. Not rubbery as I am used to. It was so lovely and I would come back again just for this! I accidentally dropped the basket of naan on the ground and though we ate most of it, our waitress brought us a fresh batch! Sensational service and Indian food here!
Great food.
Restaurant atmosphere very nice. Excellent service. Highly recommend for great Indian food.

Outstanding! 5 Star food all the way!!!! Our trips to Vancouver are incomplete without a stopover at TIB. We have ordered from their vast menu and this place never fails to disappoint. Kadhi pakodi, paneer appetizers or entrees, naan, rice, lunch specials, chef inspired dishes, we have tried it all. Their service and ambience is top notch as well. We typically go to Delta but Yaletown is just as good. Brought our friends here and they absolutely loved it.
Great quality food and super friendly service by Karl.
The ambiance/decor was definitely classy but not trying to be too cool. Great for two people great for a group.
This is the shit!!! I recommend it 10/10.
Loved the service their Server Diana is amazing. Food is delicious and today we came here second time after going to an another crappy indian place. I recommend you come here at least once.

I've heard great reviews about this restaurant chain and was happy they have a location in Yaletown very close to the yaletown roundhouse skytrain station. The decor inside looks very beautiful and modern, and the service was very friendly and responsive to our questions about their menu as we wanted to try dishes we haven't tried before. We ended up ordering the chicken lababdar (as per our waiters recommendation) with medium spice, kadahi lamb (medium), lamb biryani (mild) and the kalonji naan. Overall the food was fantastic! Our waiters recommendation of the chicken lababdar was amazing; it was a tandoori chicken curry and honestly a MUST try. The initial curry flavour was very fragrant and not overpowering, allowing the subtle tandoori flavour to flood your senses, all paired with extremely juicy chicken that required no effort to chew. By far the best dish of the night. The kadahi lamb dish was also very good; the meat was tender and paired well with the lamb biryani. The lamb biryani was average, with the typical fragrance you would expect with a biryani however we found the lamb to be on the drier side. I would order it again with a medium spice level to see if it would enhance the flavour. The raita yogurt was also very refreshing and complimented the biryani. The kalonji naan was made to order and honestly the best naan I've ever had. The olive oil and various spices added to the naan added a unique and delicious fragrance to the naan, on an already perfectly cooked, crispy and chewy naan bread. The perfect supplement to the amazing curries we had this night. We were extremely happy with what we ordered, and the service from our host. Would definitely come back to try other dishes.
Good food, but on the pricier side.
Loved their chicken tikka masala and kadahi paneer. Not a big fan of their butter chicken.

Ambience and service were great! Beautiful restaurant! The portions were small for the price.
My 4-star is not far from a 5-star, only because I call
My 4-star is not far from a 5-star, only because I call upon this establishment when in Yaletown, and would prefer an authentic Indian food experience... but it's a tad watered down. I can offer 10 other 5-star 'Indian food' options for you... Anyway, the food is good, not exceptional, the drinks could be cheaper. While this may seem like a below par review, it's not; this place will give you that authentic culinary high-spiced experience, the chicken is also moist, lamb is luscious , vegetables are delectable, portions could be loftier
Everything stood out here.
The hariyali Chicken tikka was one of the most flavorful tikka I had in a long time. The corn chops were really innovative..the chops and the dips were both very interesting.. Very nice dining experience and great service overall. Nice and beautiful ambience with quick service time.I have heard great things about their masala fries but didn't get a chance to try.
Trying indian foods.
Our visit to Tasty Indian Bistro was an absolute treat! The food was incredibly delicious, each dish bursting with authentic Indian flavors that transported us. Though there was a slight delay in serving, the attentive staff ensured we were comfortable. The cozy ambiance added to the overall charm of the evening. I highly recommend it for anyone craving a delightful Indian dining experience with friends!
Very good ambiance and tasty dishes
Tasty Indian Bistro offers very good ambiance and tasty dishes. The menu has a large variety to include traditional as well as modern fusions. The service was very good too. Our server perfectly arranged shading in the window and temperature to make a comfortable. They offer attractive discounted combos for lunch.
This is our favorite Indian restaurant in Vancouver, B.
C. We have been to the Delta location several times and were delighted to find the Yaletown location after visiting Granville Island. Both are beautiful inside, have excellent servers and the food is always outstanding. We have lived and traveled in India, so know our Indian food. Some of the food we had there wasn't this good! Don't let the hokey, unsophisticated name fool you. Maybe it offers a measure of authenticity. We ordered a couple types of naan, basmati rice, butter chicken, Kadahi lamb, Vegetable korma, dal makhni, and lassis. All were excellent. My favorite was the butter chicken, but I loved it all. A trip to Vancouver means Tasty Indian Bistro for us!
This is a nice restaurant with a very club like decor.
We got the paneer tikka that came on a sizzler and the sev puri which came with yogurt. The food was pretty good but our hostess was the sweetest!
Came across this place on my solo trip in Vancouver.
Great Indian food. Good service.
Modern Indian Done Well
Finally got to try this place after hearing good things from friends. It did not disappoint. We didn't have a reservation and it was a busy Saturday, but were early enough to get seated for a 90 minute window. For us that night, it was plenty of time. The food was excellent. The Malai Chicken Tikka was so tender and well, Tasty! Pakora's some of the best I've had and a large serving. Service was excellent. Our server was attentive, manager came over at one point and quickly checked everything was fine. Place was very busy and lively. Such a great mix of people. I definitely recommend a visit.

Oh man, i have been to so many indian restaurants in the Bay area and in LA that is had very low expectations although my Vancouver friend highly recommended it. Also, being of Indian origin, my expectations of Indian food is very high given that I make amazing biryani and non-veg food at home. But boy, was a pleasantly surprise. First, they take reservations and expect you to be on time. When we arrived, we were immediately seated in our table for four, high marks for that. And then the decor was very eclectic and modern and very unlike the usual Indian restaurants where they have pictures of Indian villages and Ethnic clothes and ethnic music instruments, had too much of that. So this was a very pleasant surprise when the decor was all modern. The menu was large and usually with large menus. None of the dishes are good at least that's our expectations but again boy, every dish on the menu was Freshly made, served hot and it was very tasty. For drinks we ordered the sangria which was pleasantly strong, and then for appetisers, we had the Samosa. And also the Tandoori fish. Watch the video of the Tandoori fish which was served. Hot, the fish was juicy and soft, and without asking we were given the peripherals of raw onions, green chilies, which is a staple for Indians who like spicy food. After the Tandoori fish for main course, we had the garlic naan, lamb Rogan Ghosh, Dal Makhani, and finally the prawns pulao. Each One of those items were served so hot, so fresh food and extremely tasty. I can write more and go on and on, but suffice to say. This was probably the best Food I have eaten outside of Home in a long time. Please do visit this place if you're visiting Vancouver.
Tasty Indian Bistro in Vancouver exceeded my expectations
Tasty Indian Bistro in Vancouver exceeded my expectations and came highly recommended by multiple Uber drivers, emphasizing its popularity within the local Indian community. As a fan of Indian cuisine, I was delighted to find that it lived up to the hype. The ambiance is simply exquisite, making it an ideal setting for friends, a romantic date night, or even a solo dining experience, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Starting with a smooth and subtly flavored chai, the pot generously provided enough for two full cups of this delightful tea. Moving on to the main course, I ordered lamb vindaloo, white rice, and naan. The naan, though thinner than what I've had before, maintained its signature light and flaky texture. The lamb vindaloo was a true highlight - tender and mouthwatering, the sauce was a perfect complement to the white rice. What added an unexpected twist to my experience was the lively music selection, featuring artists like Mindless Behavior and other hip-hop songs, creating an upbeat atmosphere even though the restaurant was relatively empty during my visit. The friendly server provided excellent recommendations, and I left wanting to party. The vibe of the place is so pleasant. Tasty Indian Bistro is a must-visit for anyone craving Indian cuisine in Vancouver.
Loved this place! Must visit if you're in downtown.
food is A++, Ambiance is A++ too!!
The fried shrimp appetizer at Tasty Indian Bistro was
The fried shrimp appetizer at Tasty Indian Bistro was disappointing--lacked flavor and too costly for what you get. Other curries weren't too great either.
Authentic Punjabi taste.
Don't forget to order Daal makhani. Wait time can be more if you visit without reservations.
Be careful they charged us 18% gratuity for a group of 4.
This is a big scam. Ask them beforehand about GRATUITY. Service was good, but the d quantity is small for the price. Quality is reasonable. I think the price has gone up, and the portion size has come down. Ambience is reasonably okay.was
People were right to recommend this place.
By far the best Indian cuisine I have ever had. Service was top notch from the appetizer to the main course everything was amazing.
Tasty is really tasty
We had our lunch while returning to Seattle. As is its name Tasty, food is really tasty. Ambiance good but interior slight darker. Spice level as desired. We tried Panner, malai kofta, makhni daal. Naan were crispy. Service quick. Staff very courteous, well behaved, charming. We also got packed dinner. Will come again.
Absolutely fabulous food . So well appointed but sadly I couldn’t see or hear my wife!!
I must say the food was absolutely amazing and the decor was to die for. The only slight problem was that it had very low levels of light and I had to compete with the multiple TVs and the music to the detriment of conversation with my wife. It was also very rushed but don’t let this put you off. Great for young people. Tremendous venue.
Worst Indian restaurant
Was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant to celebrate my friends bday It was a disappoint rite as we entered foid was average music was too loud and service was totally rushed . We were told that there's a 2 hr limit the whole evening was a absolutely ruined. However there server was good all the other staff unfriendly Will definitely not be recommending this place to anyone
