We went in thinking that this was a full service restaurant. It’s not. It has the look and feel of a glorified Starbucks with customers parked at tables staring at laptops and not eating. The routine is you order at a concession window outside and staff brings the food to your table. We turned around and walked out and went to the nearby Lincoln Restaurant and had a fabulous dinner and drinks at the bar.
Be the first to ReplyGreat quick bite
Good vibes in this little Met nook near the film center. Excellent soups salads and sandwiches for lunch. Quick order and delivery to ur table. Artsy crowd, nice staff, reasonable prices. I liked it and will return.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent choice for quick pre-concert dinner
Indie waitstaff are expert at fast service for dinner patrons under a time constraint - I was greatly impressed by the efficiency with which they processed our order so that we did not miss our concert. Both the salads and sandwiches were tasty. The wine bar service while we waited for a table was courteous and the wine was quite drinkable. Highly recommended for patrons of Lincoln Center who are cutting it close, time-wise - it's convenient and although crowded at peak times (as other reviewers have mentioned), the staff were accurate in their assessment of the time required to seat and serve us.
Be the first to ReplyOK food, snotty attitude
I was there in the afternoon, before they offer waitstaff service. So I ordered at the cash register as is required. After the cashier entered my order, he flipped his screen around so I could fill out the tip- before the food is delivered or tasted. To make matters worse, the "suggested tip", where I don't even sit down and order from a server, is 20%. REALLY? first of all, why are you suggesting ANY tip, ever? secondly why is the tip happening BEFORE the service? and lastly, why I am even being asked to tip, in lieu of waitstaff service? Why doesn't the owner pay his own kitchen and other help from the profit he is making off of my 13 dollar sandwhich and 4 dollar soda? what a joke. will not return.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible service and ok food
I think this place is in business because it is next to Lincoln Center. Next time I will go to dig inn when I need a good quick bite before a show. Hostess quoted us 15 min and it took 25-30. Then we sat and told the waitress we were in a rush. She took ages to come back. We ordered water when we said we were in a rush. We had to ask for water 2 more times. We almost got our food first. Then my friend asked for more water and the waitress didnt bring it. We had to ask the hostess. Worst service ever. I got the yogi bowl and my total was about 15$. Dig inn is cheaper and better. The food was ok but watery and then add the dresyand it felt drenched. Not happy. There are other cheapish options nearby. On my ticket it says Marion. I hope you dont have her because if you dont order a drink she will ignore you.
Be the first to ReplyThe best deal on high quality food at Lincoln Center
The food here is very good. The menu is relatively simple -- sandwiches, soup, salad, fancy cheese and a couple of main dishes that are prepared in advance as they should be. A nice selection of beer and wine. My go to is a duck confit. My wife usually gets a sandwich or a salad. My only complain is that the place gets extremely busy at peak times, so the last time I was there more time was spent waiting for a seat than in the restaurant. Perhaps Lincoln Center might use Indie's concept in another one of its less busy restaurant spaces.
Be the first to ReplyMakes me wonder
This is one of the times I have wondered about the validity of T.A. ratings. There are so few reviews with 3 or less. In fact, the high percentage of excellent and very good reviews is why I chose this place. The ambiance was pleasant and the service was very good. However, the food was average (eggplant parm) and below average (how can a BLT be tasteless?). We won't be returning.
Be the first to ReplyBreakfast and...well... dinner
The breakfast was so good that my wanderlust was upstaged and I came back for dinner. The breakfast/brunch menu had options for all tastes at reasonable cost. The quality of the food was excellent. My friend had a egg sandwich which came with avocado and bacon. I had a classic bagel and cream cheese with two eggs on the side. Everything was done to perfection. Where breakfast/brunch are ordered at the counter, dinner is table service. Again, the menu had lots of options something for every taste. The service was excellent. I ordered a bowl of hummus and vegetables. The seasoning was perfect. Each part was seasoned separately, an aubergine salad, greens, sliced vegetables for dipping and some toasted bread. The food is refined and served with human warmth.
