The dining room was about half full of patrons and the game was on the televisions. The place is small and quaint. About 20 barstools at the bar, 6 or so small tables, 2 larger tables that seat 6-ish and about 7 pub tables. Our waitress greeted us and took our order. I had a well vodka with sprite and grenadine, $8. It was just okay, not enough grenadine for my taste. My boyfriend got Dr Pepper. We ordered wings, $9, as a starter, I got the fish and chips, $18, specifically asking for crispy fries, as my main meal and he got the chicken schnitzel, $17. It took a little longer than necessary for the drinks to arrive. I watched the waitress and bartender stand around talking for quite some time before they decided to finally make them. Once the drinks arrived, within ten minutes ALL of the food arrived at once. This is a huge peeve of mine. If you're gonna offer starters then at least space the timing of the plates accordingly. The kitchen delivered it as our waitress gossiped at the bar. The food... the wings are naked but for some reason had a super sweet flavor to them that didn't pair well with the buffalo sauce and ranch. The chicken schnitzel was thin (maybe 1/4" thick?) and according to my boyfriend, extremely dry. The gravy had a decent flavor. My plate was a disgrace. The fries were soggy and the fish was so greasy that the breading squished when I picked it up and grease literally ran down my finger. I ate half of one piece and about 10 fries and brought the rest home for the crows. My boyfriend ran out of drink mid meal, served in a clear plastic 16oz solo cup, and never got a refill while all the employees (4 in total) stood at the bar talking. The bill was $63 which is a disgrace for the quality of food and service we received. We will never return to this establishment as there's plenty of places to try with quality food and service in this beautiful city. I suggest you save yourself the aggravation and spend your money elsewhere. The staff simply doesn't care about this place at all. I didn't take pictures at the restaurant as conversation was flowing nicely and I didn't want to stop to pull out my phone, but I did take pictures once I got home of my fish to show the state of it. Just gross. They get 2 stars for a decent Dr Pepper and the place did appear to be clean with a nice ambiance. EDIT: After posting this review I received a tacky response from the owner and a private message. The attitude definitely explains the terrible food and service by their staff. The owner clearly doesn't care and would rather be sarcastic and offended instead of kind and sincerely apologetic for the poor food and service. Big yikes.
