We came here for my daughter's 16th birthday.
We were searching and searching for restaurants online and my wife happen to see pictures of the wall of books and stained glass. Classy and out of this world quality and service. My youngest chose lobster salad and mushroom side. Oldest went with a mushroom starter and my wife had the diver scallops. I had the halibut- we were all impressed. The deviled egg (quail?) was a great beginning. Four waiters brought our dishes out and the BEST part??Everyone from the restaurant signed a birthday card for my daughter. No tacky singing- just a high class card and simple candle when we had desert. Yes- we each had dessert that were equally tasty and beautiful to see. We would definitely return and recommend this to friends.

Came for RW with the ladies. They are one of the few that allows you to order from the regular menu plus they did give my friend a birthday card and sang to her, so 4 stars. The portions are generous and the food is served promptly. Ambiance is beautiful and great for a birthday celebration. The only thing I want to bring up is how salty a lot of the items are. For appetizers, we got almost everything on the menu since there were five of us. My favorites were the tartare and pasta. The arugula salad was a salt lick - the dressing plus the Parmesan cheese made the salad so salty it was inedible. However this was resolved with a quick note to our waiter who kindly replaced our salad and put the cheese separately (we didn't use it).For mains, the standouts were the seafood dishes - cod and scallop dishes were amazing. The lamb was delicious too and a very generous portion. The pork chop was cooked to the most perfect temp and was tender and juicy. I wasn't that impressed with the beef which I felt was outshined by the other mains. Many of the choices had additional supplemental charges from $5-$15, so make your choice wisely. Dessert was lovely and a great ending to the night.
Be the first to ReplyWow, this place is for the date of all dates.
Can't overstate how gorgeous the interior is. When you walk in, you're in the bar area, which is more of a lounge with sofa seating, tables.. I honestly don't even remember exactly what the furnishing and decor was like but it is all very cute and well done. Make a far right into the dining room and it's totally romantic and lively (as well)! Flowers all around, white table cloths etc.. the vibe is definitely datey but could also work for a group of friends, or family. the menu ranges from veg to meat options- we went with the fish and scallops- obviously a $$$ kind of place but worth the visit in my opinion. Before the meal, they served bread and an amuse bouche- a taste of something with fish. It was all great- no complaints. The service was a little on the slower side, or on the more relaxed side, depending on how you look at it. Much better than waiters who hover over the table trying to snatch plates or utensils away trying to clear tables. overall, had a great experience. woo wooo
Be the first to ReplyMy boyfriend and I came here for Valentine's Day last night.
We had a 9PM reservation and they sat us right away. Our seats weren't ideal, they put us extremely close to the table next to us. Every time they needed to get up they would physically have to move our table to get through. We sat side by side in a corner booth and my side of the couch had been worn out so I was extremely low; I folded up my jacket and sat on it to give me a boost. It also happened to be our anniversary so the waiter gave us a card with staff signatures that said Happy Anniversary, very thoughtful. They also gave each table one long stem red rose, which I kept!Dinner began with an amuse-bouche of Oysters; we also got bread/butter and started off with two glasses of Chardonnay. Oysters are not my thing but my bf ate both of them and he said they were great. The menu was pre-fixed so we got to have a 4 course dinner for $175.00. There were 3 choices for the first 3 courses and 2 options for dessert. For our first course we started with the Big Eye Tuna Tartare and Ossetra Caviar. The tuna had great flavor, it had apples and a sort of citrus taste. I just wish they served it with rice crackers or something instead of nothing. The caviar was fresh, the presentation was also very nice but I wish they used something other than the potato chips. The chips were very salty and so was the caviar itself, so there was a lot of salty flavor happening. For our second course we both had the chestnut agnolotti with black truffle and Brussel sprouts and WOW. SOOOO GOOD. Wish there was more on the plate so we both could have eaten another round. For our main course we had the Wagyu Sirloin and the Diver Scallops. My steak was cooked medium, super soft, and had great flavor. Loved the creamed spinach on the bottom, the sauce and the wood mushrooms on top. The scallops were also very good, especially combined with the cabbage and black truffle vinaigrette. For dessert we got the Baked Alaska and the Mille-feuille. The baked Alaska was great; it was chocolate cake with passionfruit caramel & banana ice cream. The mille-feuille had blood orange and vanilla ice cream wasn't my favorite. Over the two the baked Alaska was definitely better. In the end, it was a great dinner experience. The atmosphere was very nice, I loved the decor/vibe of the bar/dining area. We didn't really see much of our waiter only in the beginning to take our order and just once/twice to refill our water. Our favorites were the agnolotti, wagyu sirloin, and the scallops. If we ever come back that would be my order!
Be the first to ReplyA perfect restaurant week deal.
For the price, the value of the fine dining experience was unparalleled. The dishes were refined and filling, with options that crossed many flavor profiles. To start, a sweet potato soup was served alongside a salted dinner roll and an indulgent, creamy butter. The soup had a strong vegetal flavor that felt true to the sweet potato. The salt level of the dish, alongside the addition of the olive oil, amplified the natural sweetness of the vegetable without drawing attention away from it. The waiter indicated that there were ground spices in the dish, but I couldn't pick out any of the flavors. In any case, they weren't missed. The dinner roll had a perfectly browned outside crust, with a good, tight crumb structure that still allowed it to feel light. This was the preamble to the solid mussel dish. Served in a yellow mustard crÚme fraîche alongside grilled slices of bread, the ensemble felt rustic and loving. It was a heavy dish and didn't hold back on that intention, but even in this format, the mussel's texture and flavor amplified it. The sauce packed a punch of mustard. The main, a pork chop, sage, apple, and sauerkraut joined sweet, savory, and sour beautifully. Although it worked for me, all three flavors were intensely felt and would be too dramatic to be considered a crowd-pleaser. The pork was presented atop a braised sauerkraut and dotted with the apple slices. My only complaint was that there was too much sauerkraut for the dish: rather than working as a side, it seemed it was trying to take some of the spotlight. The sage was a workhorse in this dish, dry and whole-leafed so that the herb disintegrated on the tongue and joined with the sauce. The lemon meringue, however, lacked the harmony found in the other dishes. It was simply too sour. It was served in a pomegranate sauce, and with blood oranges, it created a feedback loop of sourness that overwhelmed the fruits' other characteristics. There was no little reprise from its acidity. Although still satisfying when eaten as a bite or two, the dish needed a balance that wasn't there.Overall, I would happily return to the restaurant. The staff was accommodating and respectful, and the European literary aesthetic was exciting.

Definitely recommend reserving a spot if you plan to visit during peak time. I visited at 8 pm. They were still not accepting walk ins. There are limited numbers of parking spots around the restaurant. Be prepared to spend some time if you are looking for street parking.Restaurant week comes with 3 menus at temple court. I chose burrata, hanger 6 coconut sorbet.Burrata - cheese is a little dry, and sauce was too sweet. I liked how well it was presented. All ingredients were fresh. I liked how everything was except dryness and sweetnessHanger steak - well cooked. It's probably one of the better meat dishes I had in a while. Portion was good enough for 170lb men. Very flavorful and juicyCoconut sorbet - hated the most. This was not a sorbet. This was a corporate grocery grade sugar bombed ice cream... i was really disappointed with this and left the entire desert. I dont recommend this.

Dreamy, sexy and gorgeous--a dinner at Temple Court will not disappoint. My friend and I dined here during Restaurant Week and for $60 (which of course doesnt include drinks, gratuity and taxes), they offered a delicious 3 course meal. A reservation via Resy was confirmed on one of the busiest nights during the week--Thursday, but I snagged the reservation prior to RW.We were brought to the table quickly and greeted by the hospitable server. There were no missteps during our entire dining experience as service was stellar and ambience was over the top stunning. This restaurant celebrates you and at the same time, you can celebrate it--any occasion--Temple Court lends such a charming vibe. When it came time to order drinks, I was ambivalent between choosing Rose or Reisling. Fear not, I was able to try both before selecting and I went with the smooth Rose. It was time to choose our courses. My selection was Mussels, Codfish and the Chocolate Cake for dessert. My friend ordered the same main, Codfish, but deviated with her appetizer and dessert choices. Hers was the Agnoletti (which is a type of Ravioli) and Lemon Meringue Tart for dessert.Prior to being served our first course, Amuse Bouche (sweet potato soup) and two flaky dinner rolls were brought to the table. The Mussels were a pretty good sized portion (I'd say around 10) served with 3 slices of charred bread. The sauce was a bit creamy and I devoured the entire plate in no time. It was flavorful and executed very well. The Roasted Codfish was delicious and a very generous portion placed on beans, vegetables and sprinkled with a few Vongole. It was outstanding and my friend agreed. The Rose wine accompanied the meal very well since I kept everything pescatarian. The grand finish was dessert and mine was a chocolate ganache cake topped with ice cream and sprinkled with Amaretto cookie bits. It was a dessert that reflected the entire meal (service and ambience)---amazing.Some Restaurant Week menus can be hit or miss but Temple Court was a wonderful experience especially if one has never eaten here. Like me.It's a truly great experience when a restaurant hits all the right notes across the board--food, service and ambience. This described Temple Court.I want to return---and soon.

This was the worst experience i ever had in my life! The beginning we walked in had reservations and it did not show up on there end.I asked where we can sit they put us at a table near the door with all the traffic back and forth. To make matters worse the waitress had a very nasty attitude and it took literally 30 mins to get two drinks....We proceeded to order ,we asked for some bread and chips which again took 30 mins and ordered our dinner at the same time.i ordered a steak which took 1hoyr and half to get which was below average, and the potato's were not cooked well- I can go on and on i would not go there maybe the bar is decent but other then that thumbs down!Service was lacking and now they say the new law of servers get breaks in-between -thanks for all the breaks ! at the end of the evening i ended up going to stop and shop and picked up cheese nips and a almond chocolate bar-If you go to this restaurant make sure you pack a small amount of food just in case you get your dinner late almost 1 hour 45 mins later and it sucked-They forgot the ketchup , and never came to the table for any service-just the worst ever-Hanger Steak

Chicken Salad | Live Music | Cocktails Chicken Salad - probably the best chicken salad I've ever had. The combination of taste, flavors, and textures was amazing. I will get that salad everytime I go back. It's really not a question. MUST MUST MUST have. Live Music - Monica and I went on Sunday after church. We walked in around 1pm and there was a three piece all female band playing covers of classic R&B songs from the 1990s, and 2000s. They were great. They said they play every Sunday for 2-3 hours. So, if you want some easy listen live music - this is your place. Cocktails - We had coffee and shared a mezcal based cocktail that was pretty impressive. We looked through their menu and wanted to grab other drinks but, since we went hard the night before, we refrained. Pro tip: Sit far away from the door in the winter but avoid sitting directly below the opening that looks straight up to the roof. Long story short, there is a draft if you are in a seat that is below the iconic view up. It was pretty annoying every time the door opened in front of the restaurant there would be a draft that went through the 4 tables that were in our row.

In all fairness they did remake our main course to go. I thought ok they came thru. NOPE. The Wagu beef sirloin was like a bar of soap and all fat. I guess that was their little parting gift of a screw you.
Be the first to ReplyThis is an "expensive even for New York" Tom Colicchio
This is an "expensive even for New York" Tom Colicchio restaurant. For starters, the waiter served me a complimentary " amuse bouche "  of fluke with rhubarb and onions.  It was good, but the dry dinner rolls that I spread it on tasted similar to those of a  supermarket-made brand.  For the price that I was paying for dinner, I expected hot, moist and freshly- baked Parker House rolls that instantaneously melt smeared butter!I ordered the stuffed quail appetizer, which had a Thanksgiving feel.  It was stuffed with plain-tasting croutons, raisins and fennel, and it came with an overly sweet side of red cabbage.  It did not taste anything like the made-to-perfection one that he baked over 15 years ago when he was co-owner and Executive Chef at the Gramercy Tavern. My side order of puréed  potatoes required salt and flavor.  I could have done a better job at home.  This is how I do it:  Bake the potato and scoop the insides out.  Then add some warm milk, salt, white pepper and a dollop of fresh parsnip or celery root.  Mash the mixture lightly to keep it lumpy. Then drizzle some extra virgin olive oil , melted Irish butter and caramelized scallions on top.  Gail's puréed potatoes is a winner for dinner! For dessert, I had the Feuille de Brick.  Brick is a cooked mixture of wheat semolina, warm water and salt.  The finished product  looks similar to filo dough.  Brick is sold cooked in circular sheets whereas filo is sold raw.The stuffed pastry has its origins from the Anatolian "borek".  Variants of borek (stuffed pastry) are:  the Tunisian brik, Turkish borek, the Greek boureki, the Israeli bourekas, the Indian samosa, the Cuban empañada, the Jamaican patty and the French Feuille de Brick.Influenced by the popularity of the Tunisian brik in France especially during the month of Ramadan, the French make pastry leaves (feuilles) and purses out of the dough.Feuille de Brick is certainly trending on the Instagram pages of French pastry chefs!  The popular pastry's purse is stuffed with apples, almond cream and caramel ice cream.  Tom Colicchio's version left a lot to be desired because the Brick was too sweet, and only a scant amount of apples were at the bottom of the purse.  The ice cream was tasty and tongue coating. To wash down my meal, I had some club soda, but it was flat, so exchanged it for one opened from the can instead of the one on tap. What should have been an extraordinary dining experience was a mediocre one.  An amateur chef must have been in the kitchen that evening.  My money was made wasted.  The meal was too expensive for its worth.I recommend that foodies abstain from Temple Court.  You will not have as heavenly a dining experience as you would at Craft.I have been going to Craft since it opened over 15 years ago.  It is my favorite Tom Colicchio restaurant.

I have to start this review with a disclaimer:  I have thoroughly enjoyed every dining experience at Tom Colicchio's restaurant, Craft.  So this being another Colicchio enterprise, I had high expectations.  Thankfully, I was not disappointed. The entrance to Temple Court in the Beekman hotel is a vast but cozy lounge.  The dark green walls, opulent sofas, plush Persian rugs, and multiple grand floors over head remind me of mash-up between an Ivy tower library and Hogwart's.  Through this grand entrance is the main dining room.  It's a bit dim due to the deep burgundy brick walls, aged, exposed pipes and dark wood, but is lit by large antique chandeliers that highlight the enormous stained glass windows, filling up entire walls.  The room almost feels sacred (perhaps, hence the name, "Temple"), and yet very elegant. On to the food!  The amuse bouche was white fish with avocado that was both bright and acidic, yet creamy due to the avocado, creating a smooth mouth feel.  Great way to start.  For an appetizer we had the big eye tuna tartare with a light soy sauce, celery shavings and ginger.  The tuna was very lightly seared and so fresh you'd think it would jump out of your mouth!  We also had an extremely savory chestnut agnolotti.  These wonderful parcels of delightfulness from heaven consisted of fresh pasta filled with rich butternut squash and black chestnuts, graced with black truffle shavings and light truffle oil.  Let the temple say, amen!  I had the lamb for my main entrée.  It was tender, but a touch tart which was different for me.  It was served with beans and was overall a very nice, hearty dish.  I finished with a selection of three artisanal cheeses for desert: a pasteurized sheep cheese, a raw goat cheese and a raw cow cheese.  All were delicious. I enjoyed my dining experience at Temple Court and would gladly return.
Be the first to ReplyThe place is beautiful and perfect for a date night.
The food and the drinks were great. Personally I didn't like Trobt fish, it was too fatty for my liking. Def enjoyed the mushroom a le creque and the truffle agnatoli for apps. Wagu strip for main. Carrots on the side were also flavorful. Staff was very friendly and describe the dishes so well may make you want to order everything lol. Don't forget to take the pic of the ceiling or the floors above.

Upscales vibes down in the fidi area of New York. Food was really good. Oysters were fresh and cold. The baked Alaska was something else.

Part of our NYC's Best Restaurant Dessert Series ~Although we generally avoid the Financial District in our leisure time as we work in the area, it is a district with no shortage of fabulous restaurants, offering some of the best desserts in the city: e.g., Crown Shy, Manhatta, Augustine, The Fulton, Delmonico's. One of our favourite FiDi spots is the Beekman Hotel. Wrought in Art Deco-era architectural magnificence, this hotel holds a special place in our hearts because it opened the same year we arrived in NYC. You won't find another hotel with such a beguiling array of antique furnishings, a breathtaking nine-storey glass atrium, and a bar room that feels like a time capsule of the gilded 1920-1930s decades. The piece-de-resistance is the restaurant on the top floor terrace, without a doubt, the most beautiful restaurant we have had the privilege of visiting in NYC. Dining at Temple Court on Ten is an ethereal dream-like experience: the space twinkles with fairy lights intermingled amongst the verdant cascades of wisteria, the staff seamlessly glide between the well-spaced tables, and the prix fixe 3-course menu (approx $150 pp after tax/tip) is elegantly and consistently executed, traditional European fare with touches of modernity. During our visit, there were two different desserts at the epilogue, one being a goblet of somewhat experimental corn mousse, and the other being a "S'mores" dessert. The latter featured four layers of cinnamon-infused crackers sandwiching luscious layers of molten dark chocolate. A playful DIY marshmallow roasting game, it makes for a rather memorable end to an anniversary dinner when the couple is given a chance to show each other who is better at torching marshmallows

I went with coworkers, we were taken out by a rep so no complaints there $125. We had a prefix menu. The appetizer was the kampachi and it was inedible. There was SO much salt on the dish that even after moving the fish off the plate giant salt crystals were visible. I don't know how this got past the chef. I was shocked. This did not start the night off well. Entree was the steak with hen of woods mushroom and mashed potatoes, it was fine. Not outstanding, not bad, nothing special. Hard to mess up a steak. Dessert was the feuille de brick which was actually pretty good. Warm Apple compote fried in a crispy pastry with caramel ice cream. Best part of the meal. I ordered a Sakura drink $25, very good. Overall, very underwhelming for an expensive dinner. I'm glad I wasn't paying because I would never come here for this meal at this price point.
Be the first to ReplyThe restaurant's interior is very unique and beautiful.
It will definitely WOW you.  Staff is  nice and attentive.  Food is meh, have had better, kind of disappointing , came with much higher expectations.  Drinks were really good though. Keep bartenders, but switch the Chef maybe ?!

Come for the vibes and stay for the vibes because the food is underwhelming. It's not bad, but for the price we're paying I definitely expected better flavors and more finesse in the dishes. The food was not memorable except for the fact that my husband's pasta was over seasoned. A basic mistake that you expect at a fast food chain, not a upscale restaurant like this. We ate here because we had dining credits as part of our stay, am definitely glad we didn't pay for this disappointment out of pocket.

Be the first to ReplyRating it a 3.
5.for the price of this 3 course tasting menu. Our starter: tomato Tarte was good but under seasoned. Main course: halibut was really good but baby corn wasn't well cooked and was a large part of the meal. Â Dessert was underwhelming: s'mores (seen it & this wasn't anything better or special) and sweet corn mousse with cherry sauce was okay but easy enough to have a GF crunch element to make it better. They we kindly aware of my husband's Celiac and edited the corn mousse for him. Staff was attention, fun, kind and fantastic!!
Be the first to ReplyFood was meh, cocktails were somewhat diluted.
Ambiance was overrated. Overpriced for what it is. Might return if they drop in a live jazz band or something.
Be the first to ReplySo I did the Three courses $95 with the Sommelier's Wine
So I did the Three courses $95 with the Sommelier's Wine Pairing $55. You can do a three or four course for an additional $25. The wine is paired according to what you choose off the menu. There were 3 options for the first course. There was 4 options for the main course. And 2 options for dessert. The inside pretty with the hanging flowers. The rooftop was bare, not much to look at. You have to take two separate elevators and follow the signs to get to the restaurant. I got the KING CRAB 'MELON BALL' ($10 SUPPLEMENT) for my first course, very little crab with melon balls. For my main course I got the PEKIN DUCK BREAST served with peaches & bok choy. I ate it but would never order it again. It was too gamey for my taste. For dessert I got the S'MORES and I was annoyed. They brought out a chafing fuel can for my friend and I to share! They couldn't bring out one for each of us! Do you know how long it takes to roast a giant marshmallow with one of those??!! My dinner was approximately $200.00 and they couldn't bring another chafing fuel can!!!
