It's been a long time since I last came, I forgot how good
It's been a long time since I last came, I forgot how good their ramen is! Really like the miso ramen and I like to swap the noodles out for udon which they happily did for me without any issues. I can't recall if they charged me to swap it though, in case you're wondering. Staff was attentive, service quick. Sunday night, there was a line but wait wasn't long.

Great service! We have been looking for an good ramen location and I believe we found it. It was Very authentic made us feel like we were back in Japan.
Be the first to ReplyThis was my first time trying Ramen and it was really good.
Fast service...service was good. It's on the smaller side so I'd imagine it can get packed. We didn't have to wait long on a Saturday to get a seat for 2. I'd definitely recommend it.

Terakawa Ramen is a small restaurant located in Philadelphia's Chinatown area, known for serving authentic and delicious dishes, and in my opinion a must-visit destination. The restaurant has about 30 seats, creating an intimate dining experience. The staff at Terakawa Ramen is attentive and polite, ensuring that customers feel welcome and well taken care of during their visit. Signature Dish: Terakawa Ramen One of the standout dishes at Terakawa Ramen is their signature dish, the "Terakawa Ramen." This dish features Natural Heritage Berkshire Pork bone soup topped with roast pork (charshu), bamboo shoots, kikurage mushrooms, red ginger, chopped scallions, and a seasoned boiled egg. Very rich and flavorful broth, tender pork, and well-balanced combination of ingredients. I am told the broth is prepared days in advance, allowing the flavors to develop and intensify, resulting in a deeply satisfying bowl of ramen. It was so delicious!

Went with the name sake terakawa ramen as is. It was great wish I had some chili oil to add a little spice. Everything was digital which was nice as they were busy. No need to wait for a hostess. It's small but cute shop. Would definitely try again.
Be the first to ReplyTerakawa is a small Japanese ramen spot on 9th St in Philly.
We went on a Sunday because my younger brother was craving ramen, and although it was a drive for me, I agreed since I rarely get to see him. Despite not having a reservation, we didn't have to wait long - only 11 minutes. The limited dining time for each customer helped keep the wait manageable. The staff were friendly, but since the restaurant was packed, we decided to grab dessert at Matcha Panda next door while waiting for our table. We started with the gyoza, which was crispy but only came in a small portion. The charshu onigiri was disappointing; it lacked flavor and meat. For our main dishes, we ordered the chicken tan tan ramen, large miso ramen, and Terakawa ramen with medium-thick noodles. The chicken tan tan was good but too oily, while the Terakawa ramen needed more seasoning. The large miso ramen was average. Overall, I'd give it three stars. While the service was quick compared to other ramen places, we've had better experiences elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious authentic ramen experience.
I would recommend the miso ramen, with the add on of a mini curry. Absolutely would recommend!
Be the first to ReplyAlways good.
Even take oit. Every time. Noodles. Broth. Add ons. Thayee consisrently good and reliable
Be the first to ReplyRamen is so good! Love the taste and ramen authenticity.
Bowl of ramen for about $16. Their service is also quick! Usually crowded inside due to their popularity but don't let that change your mind, you'll likely get a seat relatively quick!
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite ramen spot in Philadelphia.
The place is always crowded but i believe that is the sign of delicious foods. I always ordered Tan Tan Ramen with extra Charsu along with Mini Curry Rice Bowl that can be ordered if you order ramen or udon. For appetizer, will be and always Takoyaki, my favorite.

I absolutely love coming here in the spring and summer when I visit the city! My favorite bowl is the signature ramen which is very filling and savory dish. I sometimes try to grab a plate of gyoza while there. It can be a bit crowded, loud and squashed during dinner hours but the waitresses always make sure you're taken care of. I enjoy sitting near the kitchen and watching them prepare meals as well.

The vegan miso ramen here is incredibly tasty, with big portions that leave you feeling satisfied. Each bite is flavored beautifully, and you can taste the freshness in every ingredient.
Be the first to ReplyThe place is small and cramped but reflective of a ramen
The place is small and cramped but reflective of a ramen shop you would typically find in Japan. The wait was long (about an hour), but there are a lot of things in the area within walking distance if you need to pass the time. I ordered the pork buns and the signature Terakawa ramen. The pork buns came with two, but they also sell orders of three. The crispy Japanese-style bun was interesting; I hadn't seen it before, even in Japan. It tasted okay. The Terakawa ramen came with natural heritage berkshire pork bone soup topped with roast pork (char siu), bamboo shoots, kikurage mushrooms, red ginger, chopped scallions, and a seasoned boiled egg. I liked it. The broth was on the saltier side but flavorful. The roast pork was soft. The egg could have been runnier. Not sure if this place was worth the wait, but I was satisfied with the meal.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced for the quality.
I've bad better ramen. Service was good and the restaurant is nice. I like the decor!

Nice chill spot, delicious food, great customer service! The Pork Buns were my favorite!
Be the first to ReplyAlways my go to for $14 ramen!Best place with flavorful
Always my go to for $14 ramen!Best place with flavorful ramen broth that melts in your mouth! We ordered two different ramens for comparison. They differed in their rich broths and chewy ramen noodles. In the pic:Left: miso ramen. (More salty and savory) thicker noodlesRight: Terakawa ramen. (More creamy and thick) thinner noodles. We went during Sunday lunch and there was no wait. However from the past times we went for dinner, expect a minimum 30 mins wait. You can either sit at the bar or at a table. Their chairs are designed so you can place your bags underneath away from the floor. They did not accept Amex unfortunately.

Be the first to ReplyThis is the place I tell people to go to when they ask
This is the place I tell people to go to when they ask about Ramen...I love the ambiance and personally prefer to sit at the bar where I can see the guys putting in some work in the kitchen Everything I've ever ordered here is always on point, and I've never been disappointed with my food. I got the Charshu Ramen and replaced my noodles with udon (i love the way it feels lol)Idk what my Lady got, but that was delicious too. The Broth: SlapsApps: Slaps The only negative thing I have to say about this place is how packed it can get so if you put your name in for a table make sure you don't go far because they will give your Sh!t up quick lol. Luckily chinatown has a pretty good amount of things to look at in such a close radius so it's not too bad. Great spot. In my opinion #1 in philly as far as Ramen is concerned. What do you think?
Be the first to ReplyGet here early if you don't want to wait.
Great vibe as tables are full by 1130 AM. Signature ramen was porkflavored to the hilt and too much to finish, as usual.

Hands down the best ramen I've ever had! The kimchi is so delicious, even the edamame is blessed! Service is pretty good! It's usually very busy so they are normally running around a lot. This place is a gem!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Ramen restaurant.
I ordered the Signature Ramen and Tako Yaki and absolutely enjoyed my meal. Highly recommend !!!
Be the first to ReplyI used to come here 5-6 years ago in college all the time.
This was our favorite place due to their fair prices and good ramen, especially on a cold day.Maybe it's because I've had more upscale ramen since then, but the ramen was just okay. It's the same quality as you would expect to get for like 500-600 yen in Japan. The broth is still solid and the noodles still remain store bought. However, the pork quality went down significantly. Overall, due to the limited ramen options in the area, this is still a good option.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my favorite restaurant.
It never disappoints. I cannot recommend this place enough. Wait if there's a wait. Get the Shumai and try the curry
Be the first to Replyfood was amazing.
small yet comfy space. very authentic. quick and kind service love it here
Be the first to ReplyThis is the place for ramen in Philly.
Although they have multiple locations, don't think of it as a chain but rather as a restaurant that is so damn good the people clamored for more locations, and who are they to deny the people what they want? The menu is actually pretty sizable but there's really only one thing that should be ordered--the terakawa ramen (classic). I still am thinking about that rich, salty broth and the meat that just falls apart in your mouth. This ramen is the ramen to beat all other ramens here. I've tried some of the stranger ones like a spicy one and a seafood based one, but here, the classic is a classic for a reason. My vegan sister was psyched to have options as well, and she loved the vegetarian miso soup. Service is quite fast and they will hustle you out during peak hours. They have a wait system where you check in and then they text you when the table is ready. I've waited up to about fifteen minutes in peak times. You can always go and grab some bubble tea around the corner while you wait though! Inside is on the loud side, lots of hustle and bustle, but tables are small and intimate enough to feel like you have your own space. At this price point and for this level of food quality, Terakawa can't be beat.
