Came here after a wine tasting.
It's BYOB so that was a plus. The food was decent. Homemade. Giving like you're at a friend's house vibes. Very low price as well. And I think it was cash only. You are mainly paying for the experience. It's cool to check out. Give it a try.
Be the first to ReplyInteresting little place.
Food is actually amazing. Came in with a large party quite late on a Saturday. And they were very accommodating.
Be the first to ReplyDirtiest place I've ever eaten.
No ladels for food, paper plates? Dumped $300 in this pigpen. Dead roaches, filthy sticky carpet....just look at the pics and see if that's where you want to eat from. The good reviews? Seriously, they like candles, makes a homeless shelter more romantic.

This place is a wonderful DC institution!! The food is delicious!!! The prix fixe menu was the best deal in the city!! I received 3 small appetizers and FOUR entrees AND a dessert for $30!!! The food was spectacular!!! So fresh and flavorful. (Well, except the chicken skewer. That tasted a bit old.). Service - There is none. The manor woman who comes upstairs to bring you your food is the same person who cooks your food. So if you need a knife or salt and pepper or hot sauce, you need to ask when the food is brought to you. No one will randomly check on you after your food is delivered. Ambiance - There is none. This is a townhouse. It is not fancy or Instagram worthy. If that matters to you, this is not your spot. It is clean. But it is not fancy. Wine - They have it. But there is no wine list. The options are "red" or "white". It's good. But it's not fancy. The focus here is on the food. And the food is amazing!!!
Be the first to ReplyBEST THAI EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD.
First of all, each day has a different themed menu. I've had it on both vegetarian day and meat day. Tbh, I preferred the vegetarian although LOVED both. The pumpkin curry is one of the craziest things I've ever had. Just dissolves in your mouth. So much flavor. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK.

Happy to support a small business like this one.
Be the first to ReplyThe people here are very nice.
It looks like they have a party room upstairs but not much other seating. I came for a concert at 9:30 Club tonight and it is raining with line stretched around the block. I didn't want to soak my yeezies so I popped in here and they let me sit in their entry waiting area and order some wine. I also ordered chicken satay which was great. I'd be soaking in the streets without these miracle workers.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious spot for chicken skewers and fried rice.
The rice was cooked in some kind of sauce that made it one of the tastiest I've enjoyed. Also a great spot for BYOB. Their Thai tea is fire, too. It would be a great spot pre-9:30 Club show since it's right across the street.
Be the first to ReplyLack luster.
Especially when compared to the experience at the Florida Ave location. Not sure what happened to that one... but the experience was EPIC, so this experience was a let down. Price for family style is $40 per person. The appetizers were great! Soup, spring rolls, papaya salad. Entrees were tiny portions. The beef was most delicious! Pumpkin curry was dry. Tiny chicken drumsticks were tasty. ย There was a noodle dish with shrimp that was yummy. ย Finished w mango sticky rice. So what's the problem? Service was nonexistent. Lady was nice, but never around. There was a mouse running around. The portion sizes were teeny. After the tip, it was $55 per person. And you didn't feel like it was worth it.

I had a great time coming to this location for a date night! The environment is both relaxing and romantic and the food was amazing. There's currently a prix fixe menu and BYOB with an uncorking fee which at first didn't seem like an issue until my date and I realized (me, a non-meat eater and him, a proud carnivore) would have to make choices on preferences early on. The server was very understanding and even brought out additional beef for him which I thought was kind. Every dish was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed it so much. I'd love to come back here again in the future.

*** Delayed review ***My sister visited DC with us and suggested we eat here. She loves Thai food and really wanted us to eat good (as always) so we tried this place. We made reservations through their website and got a little lost trying to find parking. This was a small place that felt very homey. We went upstairs to the dining room and could tell they wanted us to order quickly. We tried some new food and it looked beautiful but it had a little excessive heat. It wasn't bad but we didn't take it with us. P&P visited this location 05/05/2021

10/2/21 - Doesn't look like much when you walk by but wow! I typically play it safe and stick to Pad Thai or some other Thai noodle dish when I go to Thai restaurants. But it was nice to eat outside of my comfort zone and sample the multiple dishes that were prepared that evening. If you like Thai food, you should definitely try Thai X-ing.
Be the first to ReplyJust really not good food and the restaurant is not clean.
Service was also pretty bad. Writing this review 30 mins after we finished and I can already feel my stomach churning. Just go somewhere else for Thai.

Had an amazing experience with the chef special menu! It started off with a soup (shrimp Tom kha), salad (papaya salad) and an appetizer (spring roll). Next, we had rice along with three different curries - Pumpkin red curry, Green curry with pork ribs and chicken massaman curry. All three were amazing, but I especially enjoyed the pumpkin curry. We were so full at this point that we were expecting the dessert at this point. But to our surprise, there was another entree! It was the pad see ew, which was pretty good too. For dessert, we had the sticky rice with mangoes which was good but took too much time to arrive. We had a great experience overall, but the highlight (for all of us unanimously) was the Tom kha soup.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered from Thai Xing for the first time via DoorDash
I ordered from Thai Xing for the first time via DoorDash pick-up today because I had heard good things about it in the years past and wanted to try it out. I am very, very disappointed. I paid $21.45 and receive a pretty disappointing portion, especially where the main part of the meal--the lamb--was concerned. See photos. The taste is angering. I am annoyed. If I pay that much money, or any amount of money really but especially for that much, I want my food to taste fantastic. This is the worst Thai food I have ever had, so far as I can remember. Ridiculous. The rice grains are separated well, but somehow the rice still tastes kind of gummy/mushy, poorly salted, almost like a grain pudding. ???. I am not happy with tis experience at all and in mad I paid that much money for a small portion of food that lacks satisfactory flavor and texture. Ughhhhhhhhh!!!!! I can't. Never again.
Be the first to ReplyOh my god their Pad Thai is divine.
I had this delivered to me and it still held up. The price is very reasonable for DC standards. I thought New Jersey had the best Thai food in America but this is definitely a rival

When I went to pick up my order, I was disturbed to find the the host and cooks were not wearing masks. I was too shocked to process it in the moment, so I took the food I had prepaid for and left. Once I got home, I decided it wasn't worth eating the food. It's very disappointing that Thai X-ing doesn't follow DC ABRA regulations. Also, I'm so glad I picked up the food myself. If I would have had it delivered, then I would have never known that they aren't following CDC guidelines.
