As much as they want you to believe it's a 5 star hotel, it's surface level only. My family and I went to stay there for a few nights and it was sub-par for what they advertise it as. First, the staff was slow for service and awkward, speaking in silent tones and awkward glances. Second, the rooms. We booked two rooms: one deluxe king and one deluxe twin. Not at all what we were expecting based on their website. The carpets still had mud tracks from previous guests and the vanity mirror was missing in both rooms. The twin beds were barely separated and the staff just pulled them apart for us, which, whatever. There were also previously used shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel bottles. Thank goodness we brought our own. Then the umbrellas that they said would be provided weren't. And when asked for some, they had to go out and look for them, and one of them which appeared to be brand new was broken. Furthermore, upon complaint, they did not seem to take it seriously, only apologizing and then practically shrugging at our concerns. We're usually pretty easy going but for the price we're paying for these rooms, not worth it.
Be the first to ReplyVery opulent for these times.
A lot of gold fittings and crystal chandeliers.Very nice service.Quite empty hotel. Used to be owned by a Turkish company now owned and run by an Indian company.Totally renovated with tons of marble.Wonderful bathrooms although fixtures were rusty.

THE WORST VEGAN AFTERNOON TEA!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!1) The bread was not fresh.2) There was no vegan butter. It felt like trying to eat cardboard.3) The green chutney was not fresh and tasted days old.4) The beetroot sandwich was just boiled beets in bread. As was the avocado sandwich.5) the omnis in our group got a ton of desserts and were given three average and teeny pieces.

The worst service i ever experienced in my entire traveling experience! The concierge was very unfriendly and needs refresher for customer service , the room and hallway smells of old place, carpet was dirty and old and curtains were falling off the hook, in short not worth for the price and rates
Be the first to ReplyIt is my wife first time to London.
I take her to the Bentley Hotel to experience the traditional afternoon tea since she never try it before. The staff there are very friendly and the afternoon tea is amazingly good.
Be the first to ReplyStuffy, musty, run down.
Impossible for me to believe the reviews are real having stayed here. I cannot comment on the food as I wasn't about to try it seeing the condition of the room. We did receive breakfast with our room rate but did not use for reasons aforementioned. The lobby is nice. The furniture AND carpet in rooms, stained. The room walls, dirty. The bathroom tubs are worn. The staff, odd. Nothing about this hotel is legitimately 5 star if the reviewers are looking beyond box checking.

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago for two nights and was really disappointed. It's in a great location near Hyde Park, which is definitely a plus. They also have a small gym in the basement, which was quite handy. Other than that - everything else was a turnoff. Our room reeked of cigarette fumes as if twenty people had just lit up in there. Even the bathroom towels smelled dirty. They evidently allow smoking in most of the rooms as every room we saw had a "smoking room" sign on the door. Luckily, we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. Also, while the lobby and staff were nice enough, the place had the atmosphere of a library with everyone talking in hushed tones. Every time we walked in it was as if a record had scratched. Wouldn't recommend this place.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing hotel! Rooms are so spacious.
You really feel like you have your own Palace in London. The outside of your room has a doorbell. We had a beautiful chandelier hanging in the middle of the room. Room was very clean and big. Can't wait to return wish I could've stayed longer.
Be the first to ReplyThe hotel is fabulous staff are friendly and very helpful.
When you pull up in a car the staff insist in helping you with luggage and bringing to your room. The beds are comfy and clean. There are odd signs of ware and tear on furniture but nothing that is obvious and sticks out. The breakfast is ok there could be a little more options but otherwise a very nice place to stay.
Be the first to ReplyThe WORST afternoon tea experience I have ever had.
If i could give no stars, I would. The best advice I can give regarding The Bentley Hotel Afternoon Tea is just don't go. It is highly overpriced for what you get. The service was appalling. You could do almost anything else with your money, and it would be a better use than to wasting your time going to this afternoon tea. After being seated, we were given champagne after 10 minutes. The food came out after 30 minutes. We were never served tea AT ALL. We sat there for a total of an hour and 15 minutes, and were never given any tea. The person who served us champagne, took our tea order, also took away the empty champagne glasses, but never served us tea. There's more, but the main point is don't go.

One of my favorite hotels of all time! I savored our English breakfast each morning. The room was so charming. The hot coffee or tea brought to us on beautiful silver trays. The croissants were the best I have ever had. Located on a beautiful and more residential street, our room overlooked a private garden. Everything was luxurious. A short walk to Harrod's, Hyde Park, and other attractions. I look forward to the day when I may return!

My wife and I stayed at The Bentley for my wife's birthday, for three nights. We had an amazing stay, and I would recommend this hotel to everyone (and really hope I will be able to stay there again soon). The hotel's decor, and its service, made us feel like royalty without charging us royal prices :-)The hotel and our room were very posh, with a marble bathroom (with both shower and bath!), gold plating, carpets, chandeliers (also one in our room!), and a lot of other beautiful details which made us feel like British royalty. Our room, even though it is the hotel's smallest (a "queen size bed room"), was also surprisingly generous in size - it was a significantly bigger room than most other hotels offered us for the same price range. The location of the hotel is perfect: It not in the middle of the touristy area, so we could have some peace and quiet when we wanted, but it is still in the heart of London (the Kensington area) and 3 minute walk from the "Gloucester Road" tube station, were 3 separate lines join (the Piccadilly Line, the Circle Line and the District Line) - so everywhere in London was a convenient tube ride away, even the ride from Heathrow airport (on the Piccadilly line). In addition to the tube, in a 3-minute walking radius from the hotel, on Gloucester Road, we found several shops (food, souvenirs, pharmacy) and several restaurants and cafes, which were very convenient for us.We did not try the Bentley's breakfast (we ate breakfast on Gloucestor Road cafes), but we did try their Afternoon Tea package on one day. It was a real treat - tasty, romantic, filling, and decor and service which, again, made us feel like we're royalty or something :-) They even remembered that it was my wife's birthday (I just mentioned it in passing when ordering the package), and brought my wife a small birthday cake with a "happy birthday" message, which was a really nice surprise. The word "Amazing" came to our mind (and to our tongues) several times during our stay in the hotel, and during our Afternoon Tea event.

I went here for a proper afternoon tea on my last day in London. My friend and I got a great deal for a champagne afternoon tea through TimeOut London. We were quickly escorted to our seats and promptly served our champagne. Our server was very attentive throughout, not checking in too much, but always making sure we had everything we needed and taking away the empty serving dishes. The sandwiches were good. I'm not a fan of fish so I couldn't eat most of what they offered. The scones were absolutely delicious though. They were served warm and were the perfect combination of firm on the outside and moist on the inside. By the time we made it to the pastries, we were completely full. However, we still made room for them. The ones I managed to eat were very good. The only complaint I have is that the tea, while served hot, was served in teabags instead of lose leaf, like most other afternoon teas and cafes. Other than that, I would definitely recommend a visit.

Having previously lived in London and knowing what a luxurious experience high tea can be, I wanted to take a friend of mine to commemorate her first trip to London. I found a Groupon for tea for two, which was a great deal so we decided to try the Bentley. I found it strange that they brought everything out at once. Every other afternoon tea I've ever been to brings the food in courses -- first sandwiches, then scones, then pastries/desserts. The pastries got a bit soggy and warm by the time we reached the last course, but since it was such a good deal, I didn't mind so much. The dining room and lobby are decorated as the epitome of elegance and class. However, my visit didn't have a happy ending:When my friends and I entered the dining room for afternoon tea, we were the first guests to arrive. A member of staff took our coats and hung them up in the foyer, and then let us choose where we wanted to sit. When we left, a different member of staff got our coats off the exposed rack for us and we left. When we got back to the Gloucester Road tube station, I noticed, to my dismay, that my Oyster card holder had gone missing. My card holder not only contained my Oyster, but my driving license and debit card as well. Knowing that the cards were in my pocket and being absolutely sure that there was no way I could have accidentally dropped them on my walk, we turned back to the hotel. When we went back in, we informed the staff that something had gone missing, and I had gone back to our seats to make sure that I hadn't brought it with me. The staff were extremely unhelpful, and instead of helping me look or seeming at all concerned, they adamantly denied having found anything and seemed very offended and defensive, when I had only asked if anyone had found a card holder. With no one around who seemed to care, I went home, defeated. I called the hotel later in the evening to see if it had turned up, and was shown the same attitude. I admit that I am partially to blame for leaving my card holder in my jacket in the first place, but one would assume that it would be safe checked with the employees of a five-star hotel. I was very disappointed that not only was my card holder missing, but that no one seemed to care.
