It's all smoke and mirrors. The logo and the branding and the interior decor are super cool and they make the place seem legit but then you walk in and experience it and it's just very underwhelming.First I want to say the staff there clearly works very hard. That said, management clearly has trouble hiring and retaining enough people because when I went last week there was no one at the host/hostess check-in because the host was busy waiting tables. The owners of this business need to hire more people instead of saddling one person with multiple jobs. Now, let's talk about the food. It's just FINE. The baked goods were super small and dry and just sad looking. And then the main dishes just felt like something you could get in the freezer section of the grocery store like gluten-free waffles or something like that.Food cost $15-$25 but tasted like it cost $1-$4.It wasn't necessarily bad. Like there was nothing wrong with it. It just tasted super dry and bland and boring. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if most of their stuff was just frozen then thawed and warmed up.It sucks cause the place has so much potential. Like if they actually put some effort into it it would do really well. But it just feels like one of those businesses where some rich guy's wife just started a vegan restaurant as like a hobby but didn't know what she was doing then all her friends lied and told her it was great but the actual customers know it sucks because there are sooo many places to get good vegan or dairy-free food in Brooklyn. When you compare this to any other vegan food place in Brooklyn this has the most boring tasteless food but the biggest place in terms of square footage which just screams "my rich spouse let me open a vegan restaurant as a hobby".I hate to sound like a jerk. Maybe they're trying to fix it idk. But the economy is in the trash can right now and if I'm going to spend my hard-earned money on a meal I expect it to be at least better than something I'd find in the frozen section of my local grocery store.
