Before even walking in you can tell the place is adorable!
Before even walking in you can tell the place is adorable! Inside is very cute, clean, and aesthetic. We went for happy hour and the drinks were a great deal (any cocktail for $10). We tried the daiquiri and espresso martini - both of which were really well made. For food I had the veggie burger and felt the patty was a bit dry and not as flavorful as I was expecting. The fries were good but essentially they were spears of steamed/baked sweet potato (at least mine weren't crisp) - those were still tasty but was expecting something a bit different. The service was so great and everyone there was incredibly helpful, friendly and considerate! (:
Be the first to ReplySpacious, sun-lit and cutely decorated area.
..we were immediately drawn to the atmosphere and knew we had to go in. It was empty on a Thursday morning so our dining experience was pleasant overall. We got the loaded banana bread ($13) and the butcher's bowl ($17). They took a while to bring both dishes out. The bread was a bit dry, but the caramelized banana paired well with it. The bowl wasn't anything special, but it had a good flavor profile and was sufficiently hearty.Overall impressive space and menu, but I would've liked to see higher quality of dishes.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good but place was filthy AND staff was so rude.
Especially the bartender, she was angry and wouldn't ask me what I wanted for several minutes of me just sitting there. Then a man walked in and she was quick to help him. Typical! This place has come a long way DOWN since it's first location in nolita. Save yourself the money.

A great brunch restaurant for people who are plant-based or seeking healthier options for brunch! Definitely the type of place that's consistent and non-offensive!! Ambience is very good for a younger crowd, but it can definitely get overly crowded / have a long wait time on weekends and peak brunch times. I wouldn't say it's the most exciting restaurant in the world but definitely always a solid option!
Be the first to ReplyI'm not a picky guy but this place is just so "meh".
It's all smoke and mirrors. The logo and the branding and the interior decor are super cool and they make the place seem legit but then you walk in and experience it and it's just very underwhelming.First I want to say the staff there clearly works very hard. That said, management clearly has trouble hiring and retaining enough people because when I went last week there was no one at the host/hostess check-in because the host was busy waiting tables. The owners of this business need to hire more people instead of saddling one person with multiple jobs. Now, let's talk about the food. It's just FINE. The baked goods were super small and dry and just sad looking. And then the main dishes just felt like something you could get in the freezer section of the grocery store like gluten-free waffles or something like that.Food cost $15-$25 but tasted like it cost $1-$4.It wasn't necessarily bad. Like there was nothing wrong with it. It just tasted super dry and bland and boring. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if most of their stuff was just frozen then thawed and warmed up.It sucks cause the place has so much potential. Like if they actually put some effort into it it would do really well. But it just feels like one of those businesses where some rich guy's wife just started a vegan restaurant as like a hobby but didn't know what she was doing then all her friends lied and told her it was great but the actual customers know it sucks because there are sooo many places to get good vegan or dairy-free food in Brooklyn. When you compare this to any other vegan food place in Brooklyn this has the most boring tasteless food but the biggest place in terms of square footage which just screams "my rich spouse let me open a vegan restaurant as a hobby".I hate to sound like a jerk. Maybe they're trying to fix it idk. But the economy is in the trash can right now and if I'm going to spend my hard-earned money on a meal I expect it to be at least better than something I'd find in the frozen section of my local grocery store.
Be the first to ReplyCozy restaurant with great service and delicious food.
Lots of vegan and options. Don't mis out on the bakery on the other side of the restaurant.

I actually came here earlier this month and I'm coming back to do a review because I have been craving the kale Caesar salad so much! One of the best salads I've had in ages! Truly something to write home about the service drinks and ambiance was amazing as well!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious fresh food, great service and inviting vibe.
Highly recommend coming here. PS-- it's one of Alicia Keys' top spots that she likes to visit too.
Be the first to ReplySolid brunch place with nice interior decor.
Good coffee. Nice place to meet up with friends
Be the first to ReplyFinally had the chance to try their food and it was so good.
I definitely enjoyed their appetizers. I enjoyed it so much that I have to order a to go box. The place was a perfect spot to catch up with some friends. The servers were amazing also. Cant wait to come back.
Be the first to Replyget there early on the ย wknd if youre brunching.
ย gf likes it bec shes veg and its tasty enough for me. ย strong coffee a plus and friendly service. ย solid choice for a Wburg day.
Be the first to ReplyThe reviews of bad service here are accurate.
I waited 20 minutes before any of the waiters even asked to take an order for coffee and they would avoid eye contact when I tried to make it clear I was ready to order. The same happened to the couple next to me and they had came in even earlier than I did. The food was ok, but the potions are so small they're not worth the prices.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a good hangover cure meal.
The food here was quite tasty. It's a great place for vegetarian options, obviously, but offers good food for anyone. I enjoyed the egg sandwich, and really enjoyed the adzuki bean bacon - I've never had anything like it. I will say they should revamp their smoothies with some better options, as their current ones aren't great. More protein options would be smart too as that is something a lot of vegetarians/vegans (speaking as someone was was veg for 18 years) often appreciate!I liked the drip coffee here as well. Service was a bit slow though and only got one refill at the end while also getting the check. Good spot overall.
Be the first to ReplySoooo overpriced and overrated.
My burrito had no flavor, was a tiny portion, and cost $16. These places are robbing Brooklyn of any semblance of culture.

My wife and I love going here for brunch - she's vegan and I have a gluten sensitivity, so there are many great options here for us. The service is a bit slow and one must be very strategic on timing to avoid a line, but the experience and ambience are well worth it

super yummy! everything was delicious, especially the quesadillas and chai french toast! came super quickly also! 10/10!
Be the first to ReplyWent here for dinner on a weekend night.
The atmosphere is quite nice and the staff are helpful and friendly. The food is really average, and it is expensive. The burger was decent but not worth 20ish dollars. The deserts were pretty bad, tasted like the inside of a freezer. I wouldn't come back.
Be the first to Replyfound a vegan In-n-Out Burger at the Butcher's Daughter.
I'm in love with this place! Everything that we ordered was pretty good. My boyfriend ate here before, but got the traditional breakfast items and nothing stood out to him. But the burger and quesadilla we got - chefs kiss! The BD Royal burger was incredible and tastes like an animal style In-n-Out burger. The artichoke quesadilla was delicious and flavorful. The soup was also super delicious. It's incredible that everything was vegan - so excited to come here again! Definitely try the BD Royale! What we ordered: Minestrone soup BD Royale Butcher's Burger Artichoke Heart QuesadillaPasta Orchiette
Be the first to ReplyHad a delicious vegan brunch here while staying nearby.
Butcher's Daughter is an all-vegetarian spot. Personally, I find it misleading for a restaurant to refer to itself as "plant-based" when they still actually serve animal products like eggs and cheese, but fortunately the menu is labeled clearly. There's also the ability to swap out eggs for tofu scramble on most of the breakfast dishes. The Vegan Butcher's Bowl had a nice combination of flavors and textures and was topped with a harissa aioli that tied it all together beautifully. I would for sure order that bowl again. I don't often find myself going for the sweet side of a brunch menu, but we just had to try the Loaded Banana Bread and it frankly blew me away. Whoever thought of topping vegan espresso mascarpone with dukkah is driving the crazy train and I am totally on board. If there's one thing to absolutely order it's this!My Golden State beverage was just okay, and not really worth the price tag. I'd definitely return here for brunch, but would grab a drink beforehand at one of the many fantastic coffeeshops nearby instead.
Be the first to ReplyMy friend and I each ordered the country breakfast.
It was plain, flavorless, and boring. I ordered a oat milk latte and it was such a toned down coffee of flavor (as well as being the palest coffee I've ever been given) I was taken aback. Decor was modern and nice. Overall, nothing propels me to return. There are so many other great options for vegetarians and vegans in Williamsburg.
