Thank you!! My hubby and I originally came here for the yurt experience and did not have a good time. The ambiance and service was good but the food was not. We were invited back to experience the restaurant so we ended up coming with our two small children. What a different experience!! All of the food was fantastic. First of all, they have play dough for the kids which was a hit. The drinks were great we had a Negroni, banana daiquiri, and we tried the not so espresso martini. Each was delicious and we highly recommend. We also had the smoked fish brunch addition which was fantastic. The bread was so fresh and every element of the plate worked well together. Our kids had a hot dog and burger both with fries. They came out right away and each were delicious. My hubby and i had the little gem Caesar and bavette steak. For dessert we had basque cheesecake and the soft serve. Overall a fantastic meal and we will definitely be back. Thank you to charter oak for welcoming us back and allowing us to experience your food.

I was recommended this place for the burger and my oh my did it blow me away! Best burger I've had in the area, hands down! It's served with hand cut fries and their ketchup, that they make in house. Delicious!! You have to also try their soft serve ice cream, so good!!! We really appreciated the service when we told them we were in a rush to get to our next wine tasting. They got us in and out very quickly. I will be dreaming of this burger until I come back.

We were seated outside which was not really with a good ambience.

While they MUST buy some plants or find a way to warm up the room and space (add some screens or decor inside???), the place is still unique and the outside is great. The burger is delicious but the menu in general is fussy with a random selection of things. Needs a bigger menu. Service is really nice and improved... super nice staff. Delicious Caesar salad. Yummy bread. Lots of things to like about the place but the huge wide open interior space is a head scratcher. Very cold and barren. Still, a fun worthwhile place, though.

This place is so fun - great vibe and energy and the staff makes this such a great experience! The food is flavor PACKED and the potatoes are delish! Your silverware is tucked away in the table side drawer and you will enjoy your visit! We had a short wait to get seated (no Ressie in advance), but well worth it!! What a treat! My husband booked a Yurt dining experience my birthday. It was just lovely. Even on a rainy day, waking into the restaurant is impressive. It is just a beautiful restaurant! My husband said he was called by the restaurant a few days prior to confirm the reservation and (given that the cold and rainy weather was expected) if we still wanted to Yurt dine. We did and they gave us great advice of dress in layers. They also went over the 4 course menu which I felt was thoughtful. I was impressed with how warm the Yurt was but if you are still cold, there are blankets for you to use. Rene was thee most attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and awesome server. He hands down answered all of our questions and our food came out in perfect timing of one another. We had plenty of private quiet dining which was welcomed due to us celebrating my birthday. Food was hands down delicious! I recommend: The vegetables with the soy bean dip. Do not skip on the fresh vegetables. You'll never have veggies like this again! Trust me. The bread. Ok I know what you are thinking..it's just bread. Well no, it is not. Crispy on the outside, perfect chew on the inside and spectacular churned butter. So good. From the tasting menu: The chicken croquettes. Right size bites packing so much flavor. Duck and beet salad- what a perfect pair. Chicken broth- a small sip feels like a warm tight hug. I would love to come back. Correction. We will be back in the late spring/early summer. Would love to do a dinner in a yurt. I never knew this gem of a place existed. I selfishly want to keep this place a secret but it's so hard to not rave about Charter Oak. I'm so glad my husband chose this place to dine at. I highly recommend and cannot wait to go back. .

We stopped by Charter Oaks for lunch with no reservation for 5 people. We ended up sitting at the bar which was perfectly fine. Food was very delicious and the pork chop we order was very juicy! I recommend ordering their wings, pasta and their pork chop made to perfection!
Be the first to ReplyFood is delicious.
A must try for the experience. Service was excellent, as well. Our server was so kind and gave his recommendations. We had the burger, gem salad, the sourdough bread and cream butter, and the chicken. Everything we had had unique and delicious flavor. I would come back for drinks but nothing I must eat again.

My husband and I had the best meal of our lives at Charter Oaks this evening. The interior design and decor were just amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. Now about the food- to call it delicious is an understatement. Every single dish was uniquely prepared and perfectly balanced. Our first courses were grilled persimmons and their version of the Caesar salad - both were very tasty. For the main course, we split their dry aged ribeye. The steak was by far the most delicious steak we've had. Our sides were oyster mushrooms and grilled vegetables - we loved every bite. We ended our meal with a soft serve and it was the most satisfying ending to an amazing meal. The restaurant is located on the property which dates back to 1800. Every corner speaks of history and we were wowed by the interior decor. We will definitely be back. Next time we will most likely try the private yurt experience. The yurts looked amazing.

Cute place! Some things here were very good, some were alright. I loved the grilled fresh bread with house-churned butter; for me, this was the highlight. The fresh veggies from that garden with fermented soy dip was really excellent. Nothing unique, just fresh, crispy, and delicious. Grilled persimmons were nice and flavorful. We also enjoyed the sturgeon osso bucco, though initially it felt a bit fishy - my partner loved the seasoning on it. The rancho gordo corona beans were okay - there wasn't really much or any hoja santo flavor. We also tried the eton mess, which was good but not great. Service was excellent, shout-out to our thoughtful server, Todd!
Be the first to ReplyWe stumbled upon this place for a late lunch.
The Crudites and Fermented Soybean Dip were amazing! Also the Miso Ceasar Salad was the best salad I've had in ages. The service could have been better. I never got a refill on my iced tea and we had to ask for more water. The music was way too loud. The seats were uncomfortable. But I would recommend this place for a delicious farm to fork freshness experience!

All I have to say is this cheeseburger will leave a mark on your soul for the rest of your life. It was nothing complicated but the love and time that was spent on making the cheeseburger is tasted through every since bite. The chicken and the sour dough was good too but the cheeseburger is where it's at.
Be the first to ReplyWe had lunch on Sunday.
Had to ask for water twice and when asked second time, server rudely commented that she has only 2 hands as she was taking our plates away. We had dinner few days prior at French Laundry. They will not your water run empty on your table and I can not imagine they would respond to customers that way. Very rude service. Will not come back.

Sat at the bar. Bartenders were awesome! Will definitely return when back in town.

Perfectly prepared food! Everything was delicious and freshly prepared. Service was great! Drinks excellent! A bit overpriced but what do you expect for A Chef's MENU in the Napa Valley?
Be the first to ReplyFood was pretty good.
The RAW VEGETABLES FROM OUR FARM and the CHEESEBURGER were outstanding. The STRACCIATELLA was overly salty (and didn't come with anything, so was just a bowl of soft cheese and oil and a spoon) and the beef chuck tartar was under seasoned. Service was the real issue here. 3 courses with drinks, and we were in and out in exactly 64 minutes. First drinks didn't come until after we got apps, entrees came when we were less than halfway done apps. A staff member even waited for us to review and complete the bill. Clearly they wanted the table back, but it rushed the experience a lot.

This was worth the nearly two hours to get here on a Saturday afternoon after the storm had passed earlier in the day. I arrived a little early and got a glass of wine at the beautiful bar and it was a treat watching the bartenders work in sync, seemingly effortlessly. When my dinner group arrived, the 9Of us ordered probably 8 different things from the menu to share (some in two portions), and they where all great. The raw veggies, the wings, the mush rooms, the burger, two different steaks, the bucatini and the fresh bread were all very good. The only thing I would note is some dishes like the ribeye and mushroom were a little too salty. Overall excellent experience.

For all the weekends I spent travelling the last 20+ years to Napa HOW AM I JUST NOW DISCOVERING this magnificent place?!?! Had lunch in the yurts with the besties and the food and service was amazing. They serve chefs menu family style in the yurts and EVERYTHING we ate was delicious!!!!! Definately will keep this place jn my Napa restuarant rotations!!! Wholeheartedly recommend!

Best cheeseburger in the Napa Valley! Only reason I come to this place. Skip that line across the street and order your burger ahead to get it pipping hot wrapped in foil in a paper bag. Fries area hot and crispy, can't leave that of the review. Happy hour is pretty fire too, a lot of locals hit it up. Don't be scared, most of them have smooth hands, drive teslas, and are anti 2nd amendment.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was really good from the bread even the butter
The food was really good from the bread even the butter which are all made in-house was great! The vegetable appetizer was amazing, especially the dip however, they could add more vegetables in it since they harvest the vegetables from their garden. We shared the burger, the mushroom sandwich, and the Bucattini - the pasta was a little on the super al dente side and we didn't quite enjoy that because the noodle was too starchy still but the sauce was delicious. We came on a rainy day and they had to close that outside sitting and I think that's the reason they were so busy. Our host was very good at explaining the menu but I guess he was so busy. We felt like we had to flag him several times for water, for our Bill. We wanted to order dessert but we didn't have time because we couldn't catch him and we ran out of time to try their dessert.Overall, I enjoyed the food if we didn't have to flag and get our host attention I would've given it a five star. But definitely, I would come back to taste some other food and I really recommend this place. The ambience was really beautiful and cozy on a rainy day, very cold day.
Be the first to ReplyThe restaurant is really cozy.
We came in on a rainy day in Napa and we were seated close to the fire. .Food:Farm fresh vegetables with amazing soy dip 5/5 - this was really yummy vegetables was definitely fresh and the dip was great.Bread 5/5 - freshly baked came with tasty butter must order. Cheeseburger 5/5 - the burger was perfectly cooked with melted cheese it was really tasty.Mushroom sandwich 5/5 - this was also great the mushrooms was so tasty we enjoyed this sandwich Overall we thought the food was good. The reason for the 4 stars is the service was a bit lacking. We first asked after we were seated if we can start with bread while we look at the menu. Our server said he has to take all our order at once so he knows how to place the food on our table. A bit odd, so we rushed through deciding what to order. We also kept asking for water and flagging him down whenever we needed something. Then, he will refill the pitcher of water and leave on our table and didn't bother to pour the water in our glass. I guess it's self service. Hahaha. We also wanted to order dessert but he just took so long to come back to take our order. He was busy chatting with someone in the restaurant. I would still recommend the food was great just the service was not so great.
Be the first to ReplyWe ordered so much food and everything is served family
We ordered so much food and everything is served family style so that meant shareable plates. We had the Aged Beef Chuck Tartare, wings, Red Kuri Squash, Kaluga Hybrid Caviar, oyster mushrooms, spring trout, annnnnd the tomahawk. Everything was delicious!! It was my first time trying Kaluga Caviar and I'm officially a fan.

We've tried Charter Oak several times and frankly it doesn't compare to its neighbors, and I mean the taqueria or the local deli. It's tragic that Tra Vigne was pushed out to allow this smoky, overpriced joint with extra attitude to take its place.

Have been here twice and felt compelled to post a review based on the exceptional service and food. The outdoor patio at TCO is dog friendly and our waiter was accommodating to both humans and dog from beginning to end. Then there's the food. Where to begin. The bread is probably some of the best bread I've ever tasted and comes with a whipped butter that will be reappearing in my dreams. We went early and tried a few of the brunch specials. Apple pancake was cooked in a skillet and very tasty. Star of the show was the ridiculous soft serve with salted caramel dressing. I wanted to take a tub home with me. Have also had the fermented soy dip and garden vegetables before which is another must. There is nothing not to love about TCO!
Be the first to ReplyI will get this place zero stars if I could we were here
I will get this place zero stars if I could we were here for a special event and the food was disgusting. But worse than that there was barely any food to be had. This was an event put on by Silver Oak winery and the restaurant and Russian River brewing. They advertised it as a dinner but instead there were measly appetizers served as a walked out of the kitchen everyone attacked the people serving them so most people cannot even get food. Then once you got food it was disgusting. I would never come back here considering this experience
