A long time dream come true

We had Sunday Brunch here and having always wanted to attend CIA it was a dream come true. Our food was so great and the staff was phenomenal. The crab dip starter was melt in your mouth and the French Toast was out of this world. After we took a tour of the kitchens...met the Bread maker who invited us to try his fresh baked cherry chocolate nip bread. What a treat.

Their gardens out front are incredible and their reputation for cooking classes must be a reflection of how amazing their food is! We went for restaurant week so our experience may be slightly different from the norm but still worth raving about!Aesthetic - 10/10Classy, quaint, and clean. Staff is so nice and enthusiastic about their restaurant.Our order:- Appetizer salad - 10/10 - So fresh and delicious! I could've eaten one twice this size!- Roasted carrots - 9/10 - Perfectly cooked with a yummy balance of flavors.- BBQ ribs, cornbread, and macaroni & cheese - 7/10 This is where the meal fell short for me which was sad. The ribs were suuuuper dry. I basically chugged my wine to get through each bite. I had high hopes for them because the restaurant smelled SO GOOD. The macaroni and cornbread were super delicious and made up for the ribs! But it was a bummer to have the main show stopper fall so short.- Dessert - 10/10 - WOW this was so good! I cannot remember the name of it but it had such a creative balance of flavors!Even though the ribs were disappointing, I would definitely give this place another try!

I went to CIA at Copia for a 3D dining experience that is held every Friday and Saturday of the week which cost $155 a person. I had a 4 course menu which includes:Appetizer: Waffles & Caviar- this is my favorite out of the 3 snack size appetizer. The waffles tasted more like hash browns and the caviar was just amazing.Spicy Tuna - Rice-Tots- I also enjoyed this one as well. It tasted like marinated tuna in a poke bowl which I am a big fan ofBurrata Bruschetta: my least favorite out of the appetizers- the bruschetta tasted a bit bitter and that is probably due to the flower First Course: Miso Glazed Sablefish: This is probably my favorite dish of the night. The fish was done extremely well. The fish tasted buttery with a nice smooth texture and it was perfectly glazed with the Miso. The shiitake mushrooms and bok choy and the black garlic were perfect compliments to the dish. Thumbs up all around on the pairing.Main Course: Wagyu Short Rib: The short rib was pretty good but I felt like it lacked some flavoring to bring out the beef taste. I think it would have tasted a lot better if they paired it with a sauce of some type. I got a pretty lean part of the short rib but my girlfriend and neighbors across got a much more fatty piece but we all agreed mutually that the flavoring can be done better.Dessert: Chocolate Opera Cake: The cake tasted pretty good but more on the richer side and the proportion of the dessert was very huge that it was even greater than my main course so I was completely full after the dessert. 3D Dining Experience: The 3D experience was amazing. They created a nice story to fit the dishes in with the story. We were all seated in a large rectangular table and they have projectors up on the ceiling to project the 3D animation and films. They also have nice music playing in the background. Overall the ambiance was really nice inside with positive vibes. I highly recommend coming here if you have not tried a 3D dining experience before!

Their marketing says: "The Grove at Copia is the signature restaurant from The Culinary Institute of America right in the heart of downtown Napa." The restaurant is really called "The Grove at Copia" :-)The Culinary Institute trains chefs for their new jobs. Most training is done at the Greystone property in St. Helena. That said, the food here is excellent. We started with deviled eggs carbonara containing crispy Parmesan. This appetizer was excellent and we couldn't think of one we liked better. The avocado bruschetta was nicely prepared on whole grain bread with cucumbers, radishes, toasted pepitas and mint. Flavors gave us a nice second course.The black truffle polenta with poached eggs was a great breakfast We asked for poached eggs soft and the kitchen fulfilled our request.After this we got the Grove lime pie with lime caviar. Yes there is a lime fruit that is filled with "seeds" that pop just like fish caviar.Wow. The whole meal was fantastic. The restaurant is casual but elegant. The grove mural set the atmosphere. We strongly suggest you visit the restaurant.

Maybe it was an off night, but the server was almost comically bad - 20 min after being seated in a half-empty restaurant there was still no sign of her, and we finally asked the host. It took another 30 minutes to get a glass of wine - and the wrong one at that. She made at least 3 additional mistakes with our order. The food was edible, but bland and uninspired. There are much better restaurants here.

We had the hook in line caught halibut, the Cauliflower tempura and a holiday cocktail. The staff was friendly and the ambience was great. Overall a great dining experience. We will definitely be back in the near future. Highly recommend.

Came for a private event and there was a nice space that we held cocktail hour and a private area for dinner.Bartenders were very nice and friendly to chat with.The food was outstanding. The salad with Parmesan crisps was delicious. Both the root-crusted filet mignon and scallops were super tender and outstanding. The preserved meyer lemon tarts was also great.Highly recommend!

Great spot for a group- so you can try everything!!Been here twice now, and the food is always delicious. They rotate their menu very frequently- so I never know what to expect. My husband absolutely loved their tri-tip: beautiful cooked, tender. He was raving about it for days. Service is very attentive, but not pretentious. You feel at home, but know that you will be taken care of- when you dine here.

I have been to several CIA's across the Country. However... this one did not deliver. We could not find a wine suitable for our table. We found the nutty Cesar salad interesting, not delicious. I was really hoping for the carrot dish to delivery a taste my palate could enjoy. We were confused as the dish had few carrots, and Frekkah which is a grain with Garbanzo beans, no flavor. We did have the steak with golden potato wedges that was prepared perfectly, kudos on that one. We really struggled to have a complete dining experience. A brand new menu and absolutely zero knowledge of anything that was being served to us.We are not sure what the dynamic was that night. We ordered a tequila that never arrived to the table, and no one even said a word about it... I'm really on the fence with this place... super strange combinations of flavors that basically fought their way down my throat. We all had a good laugh in the parking lot.

What a great spot to grab a quick bite. While their menu is limited everything is fresh and amazing. You are sitting on the patio overlooking the gardens of the CIA which provide many of the herbs, veggies and florals for the meals prepared at the restaurant. We had the eggs Benedict served with fresh grilled snow peas from the garden. YUM! Our meal took a bit longer than expected and our waiter brought us a fresh glass of bubbly to make the wait better. It was perfect. Browsing the gardens is fun and the museum & gift shop have lots of unique goodies. We loved our morning there at the CIA.

My friends and I had a disappointing experience here a couple weeks ago. While the food was tasty, the service left much to be desired. It was a Sunday evening, and the meal was to be served family style. The restaurant was fairly empty--there were only two other parties in the restaurant while we were there (a party of 3 and a party of 8). When our server took our drink order, she said that our food may come out sooner than our drinks because the kitchen was really on top of things. To our surprise it wasn't until twenty minutes later that our food and drinks arrived at the same time. I understand that staffing levels are not what they used to be, but with a nearly empty restaurant, it would have been nice for our server to come by and update us in the status of our beverages and our food. Furthermore, at the end of the meal when we had an issue with our bill, the manager was rude and condescending to us. We were a group of six women, and the manager John felt the need to "man-splain" to us why he overcharged us for a glass of sparkling wine. So while the food was good, none of us will be back to the restaurant because of the disappointing service there. Such a shame.

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

Best Answer It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Best Answer Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Best Answer Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Best Answer Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

What happens if my bid expires unanswered?

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
