This is part of the Starr restaurant group.
We had the opportunity to eat at another establishment this week. It was supposedly rated higher than Clocktower. The food there was subpar, the food and service at CT, absolutely exquisite and innovative. The staff was completely attentive and friendly, like a family. I can't wait to go back.

(Dined 12/10/2022 SA @ 6:30pm): I looked everywhere and couldn't recall a clock in this "tower" restaurant in New York's Flatiron District! The Clocktower was the choice for my dear friend to celebrate her milestone 40th birthday with a party of four. Drawn by the interior photos and an Old World classic sensibility, would happy memories be made before the clock struck midnight!?PURCHASEBread (Comp.): This freshly-baked round mound was so nice we had it twice yelp.com/user_local_phot…!God Save The Quince Cocktail ($19.00): Made with Kettle One Vodka, blanc vermouth, spiced quince, and lemon juice, this was a vibrant sweet elixir with a twist of tartness that went down smoothly yelp.com/user_local_phot….2021 Domaine De La Foret Gasselin Sancerre Loire Sauvignon Blanc 750ml Bottle ($88.00): A real cork, light yellow color, slight oak sweet aroma, low body, oak sweet tropical flavor, crisp finish, oak sweet aftertaste, and low astringency yelp.com/user_local_phot….Shellfish Platter ($65.00): A seafood spread of 1/2 Maine lobster, 6 medium-sized shrimp, and 6 oysters along with melted butter and other accoutrements, this was a nice starter sampler with everything chilled and fresh yelp.com/user_local_phot….Crispy Brussels Sprouts In Bacon Maple Vin ($12.00): This was a fragrant but somewhat cluttered side dish. When we arrived in the downstairs lobby, we were directed up the spiral staircase to the next level. Warmly greeted by a host, he quickly had someone show us to our table, provided menus, had water poured for us, and gave us time to settle in. Once we ordered, the rest of the evening was calm, relaxing, and not rushed at all as each drink and dish came out perfectly timed. The service was impeccable - cheers!PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance)About a 30-minute Lyft ride due to traffic from Jersey City. The drinks/food were very good, the fanciness was lost on me, the prices reasonably digestible, the service amazing, and the experience was fun to enjoy with others. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $245.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS
Be the first to ReplyI requested a table for two by the window for my birthday.
I made this request several times over the phone and by email. So they gave me a table for four in the middle of the room. Food is good though overpriced.
Be the first to ReplyOkay food, terrible service.
For the price, check elsewhere. Disappointed because the space was so cute.
Be the first to ReplySo I dated a guy that seemed to have gotten a cheat cheat
So I dated a guy that seemed to have gotten a cheat cheat on how to chase me away. After two/three bad dates in a row, he finally took me here for a drink. Men, all us women in their thirties want is a nice place to drink cocktails. After you've snagged them, make them do things they don't like and such... Anyways, I recall the drinks being delicious here. I remember asking the guy what the name of the place was so I can go back one day. Fast forward to last week, a senior manager at my job who I got very close to was in town. Every time she is in town, she stays at the hotel this is located in so it just made sense to have dinner here. There was a very creepy old man that kept trying to squeeze into our conversation that sort of made me want to get the hell out of there as soon as possible, but everything else was good. We got the following.- Celery like based soup: When the plate showed up, it showed up with a few mushrooms in the middle of a large plate. I had no idea what the heck that was and my senior manager and I looked at each other so confused. Then they poured the thick broth, which made so much more sense. It was a good laughing moment. The soup was fine, but I really didn't like the celery like flavor that lingered every bite. I didn't finish my soup to be honest.- Crab cake: the creepy guy suggested this and I am grateful for his creepiness. This was delicious! Crispy based with crab in the middle. We shared this, but can easily have this on my own.- Halibut: this was delicious! I love a good poached fish moment. Staff is good. They do up sale a lot which was a bit annoying. How much food can one eat at 7 pm on a Wednesday? I gave this place three stars because I feel like I haven't had a chance to really give their menu a try. What I had was good, but I am dying to try the beef wellington. Stay tuned for an updated review.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was Amazing we loved everything we ordered.
Ambiance very classic and clean. We ordered two starters roasted beetroot salad and the scallops, scallops were fantastic. Prime NY stripe is a must we ordered medium rare and it was cocked to perfection. We didn't love the bourbon ice cream ( no flavor ) but their signature dessert 'warm sticky toffee pudding' was something else. The four stars are just because the wine by the glass list is very poor , the old fashioned was just not there ( you can't mistake an old fashioned in such fancy restaurant) and we would have expected the same level of service, our waiter was very very gentle and kind but I guess it was new and I think the management should have supported him more. There are basic mistakes that could have been avoided in a high end restaurant.

Be the first to ReplyThe food and ambiance is fantastic.
We got oysters, steak tartare, the pork chop and the fish n chips. Every bite was delicious and they were playing groovy music. However, the service was horrible and it really impacted our experience. They may have just been understaffed on a Saturday night, but aside from when they first sat us down and took our drink orders we had to track down the waiter every time we wanted/needed something. It was clear everybody in the restaurant was experiencing this and you could overhear others complaining. They were also very slow to clear empty plates. I would go again but probably not on a Saturday or Friday night.
Be the first to ReplyCame for a burger and of course ate other stuff too.
Such a good burger though! And you know I am serious when it comes to burger perfection. This place is up there in my burger list. Menu is amazing overall. Try their Mac'n'cheese as an appetizer. I swear!
Be the first to ReplyThe Clocktower is a disappointing experience all around.
The food is average at best, and the service is slow and unprofessional. We waited over an hour for our food to come, and when it finally did, it was cold and not very appetizing. The atmosphere is also pretty dreary and not at all what you would expect from a New York City restaurant. Overall, we would not recommend The Clocktower to anyone.

Went to The Clocktower last night for dinner and had the best dinner experience! The food was delicious and the service was absolutely the amazing! Thank you to our server Evan and the rest of the team that took great care to make sure we had everything we needed. P.s. Definitely finish up your meal with the sticky toffee pudding!

I mean, it was alright. Great service I guess. But maybe thats what Michelin Star means. In terms of food, it was ok but super $$$$$. Just go to a diner instead and order to your heart's content

You have to go for the beef Wellington and Eccles cake (my mother in law is from Eccles so I'm bias, but the sticky toffee pudding looked amazing too)
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely delightful.
The ambiance and the food were beyond my hopes. It happened to be my birthday, and my server, Evan, treated me like a queen. The fish and chips were perfectly lovely. I really enjoyed my time here. I wish I lived closer but will definitely come again my next trip to the city.

Dark paneled ceilings and a large marble hearth aglow with flames created a welcoming and cozy ambiance. My dining group of four decided to order and share 3 appetizers. I'd never had a scotch egg before, but as someone who has an unhealthy love of eggs in all preparations I've ever tasted (I'm sure the two eggs I eat most mornings are not doing anything wonderful for my cholesterol level), I was sure I would enjoy this dish. And I was correct. The fried outer coating provided a satisfying crunch. The savory yolk and pork sausage was cut by the acidity of the accompanying walnut ketchup. We spoke to the sommelier to get his advice on wine pairings for each course. He recommended a sparkling wine from the south of England to pair with the scotch egg. It was right on point! Note to self: anything fried goes well with bubbles. Next up, Berners Tavern macaroni & cheese with wild mushrooms and slow-cooked ox cheek. This was not the usual elbow pasta with bright yellow artificial cheese from a box. This was a bit of a masterpiece. Large, hearty ribbon pasta noodles with meaty mushrooms and tender, flavorful ox cheek in a rich creamy sauce. Absolutely delicious. The final appetizer was chicken liver and foie gras parfait. Although savory, it was not the richest foie gras I've ever had. Nevertheless, the perfectly toasted brioche bread with a soft center was the perfect vehicle for foie gras.On to the main course, the beef wellington, the dish I was most excited about. Admittedly, my first bite was a bit lackluster. The meat seemed a bit dry and under seasoned. However, I quickly learned that the remedy lay in the mash potatoes and gravy that accompanied the dish. Combining all the elements of the plate on my fork, the perfect bite highlighted the interplay of textures between the flaky outer pastry and mash potatoes, and allowed the savory gravy to add flavor and moisture to the beef. Overall I was quite pleased. We capped the evening with a delicious warm sticky toffee puddingWe had good service throughout the night and any small snafu was quickly addressed; great customer service. I would definitely dine here again.
Be the first to ReplyFood was amazing.
Staff was amazing. Drinks were amazing. It's a very selective menu so keep that in mind before going and it's definitely on the pricey side. The ambience is cute too. We decided on here as we were staying at the hotel and a snow storm was in effect. Overall great experience

Super fun michelin spot turning out British goodies on a high end scale - I will say - BEST COCKTAILS I HAVE HAVE EVER HAD- Leo our server was also awesome, they never judged when we asked for more bread butter even the black salt on our cocktail ! The beef Wellington is a must as it's so time consuming and nice to have it prepared right ! Fish and chips were nice but not necessarily mind blowing - the salad was DELICIOUS! And malted chocolate ice cream was a lovely treat - interior is stunning and just so fun !
Be the first to ReplyMy husband took me here for our 1 year wedding anniversary.
Meal was wonderful! The wine som was super friendly and very attentive. Our waiter was a little quiet but was always on top of things. Fantastic meal all around. We did the Mac and cheese for a starter & I had the shepherds pie and he had the beef Wellington. Great bread and butter service too.

Went here two weeks ago and had a really good time! The interior was beautiful and if you have time, play some pool. The food was all memorable, but portions were huge so keep that in mind. The mac and cheese was so creamy and the ox cheek melts in your mouth. The shepard's pie had the type of taste where you can't stop eating once you dig in. The fish and chips were so nicely prepared. I grew up eating beer battered fish from my mom, so I was very fond of the fish, but the ale they used was so tasty I loved the crust. The dessert also had some gold flakes which was really nice. Highly recommend!

This place was quite a shock. The Mac and cheese was good.Could the Scotch egg be better? It could.Hickory dickory dock.We made a res for 7:45 but they didn't seat us until 8:15, which was a bit unfortunate since we were all feeling quite peckish. Also service in general was quite slow. FOOD: The Mac and cheese with oxtail was actually really tasty, as was the dry aged burger. I also tried the scallops, a bite of the beef Wellington, and the lamb shepherd's pie. The shepherd's pie was really strong and rich, and there was a lot of it. We ate around 1/4 of it and packed up the rest to bring home. I wish there were other things (maybe as a side) that would have cut into the richness. The balance just felt a bit off overall. Others really enjoyed the scallops, but I thought they were just ok. Same with the beef Wellington, but I also am not a huge fan of filet mignon in general. I overall thought this place was nice, but expected a bit more from a Michelin starred restaurant.

Great energy and fun vibe for a special occasion.

Hubby and I went to The Clocktower on a Friday night at 7pm for our fifth anniversary dinner. For appetizers, he had the Beef Tartare and I had the Mushroom Velouté. My dish was amazing. The soup was creamy and so full of umami and it came with three crispy fried mushrooms on top. Hubby also ordered the dandelion salad and he said it was very good. For our entrees we both had the Filet. They were amazing; so tender that the knife slid right through. I had the triple cooked chips and they were delicious. For dessert we got all three on the menu: Warm Sticky Toffee Pudding, Earl Grey Chocolate Torte, and the Banoffee Sundae. Everything was amazing. Since we were celebrating we decided to go all out and ordered a bottle of the Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé which was $140. A few minutes later the sommelier came out and told us that they had run out of the bottle we ordered and they were offering us a bottle of Ruinart for the same price as the one we ordered (the replacement bottle was over $100 more so that was nice!)Our entire experience was amazing. The service is top notch. Attentive, knowledgeable, without being overly familiar or intrusive. Oh and we also had some cocktails. I had God Save the Quince and it was delicious. Hubby had the Thread the Needle and really enjoyed it.

I was only in town for a night when I spotted The Clocktower on IG, they had me at Lamb Shepard's Pie. Sold immediately, I grabbed my coat and headed out. Parking was available on the street and I got a spot right up front. The restaurant is located in the Edition hotel so the lobby area was really cool, I grabbed a picture at the stairway and headed up. The decor inside the Clocktower was amazing. The Shepard's pie was perfectly seasoned I literally ate the whole thing in less than 10 minutes. Very well deserving of the Michelin Star Lamb Shepard's pie Instagram.com/six10_1984
