There are much better
The pub is a decent pub just far enough away from Covent Garden to avoid being overwhelmed by tourists, but is spoilt by the bar staff. I have rarely seen such a slovenly unprofessional bunch in my life. If your idea of good service is being served by Kevin and Perry, this is the place for you. The end of the bar seemed to be used by staff ( or friends - not easy to tell the difference) and in the half hour we were there had an empty sandwich carton and a spray cleaning bottle sat there. The rubbish (flattened empty boxes) left on the floor could easily have been moved, but just added to the scruffy nature of the pub. Oh - and of 3 draught beer pumps - not one in use and no obvious sign of anyone trying to rectify that situation. Whoever owns or manages this pub - you need to get a grip.

One of my top ten pubs in the UK. But since Covid, the young bar staff take it upon themselves to close at whim. Last night we were enjoying a convivial few in a festive atmosphere. Must have been 40 people in there well into their cups. Out of the blue they called time before ten pm. I had a word with the bar manager and pointed out that each person was spending at least £30 per round and that if they bought two per hour they would make several hundred per hour, more than justifying the effort, His answer? We want to go home. This crap is killing our pub trade. Customers count. Get off your phones and respect that! You should be honored to work in one of our institutions.

Be the first to ReplyFantastic Friday Afternoon with amazing Northern Soul Playlist!
Wow, what a great little spot! I was here with my wife on a Friday in Spetember. We had a few pints and the music was fantastic! It was mostly Northern Soul deep cuts, I kept on getting out my phone and using Shazam to see what was playing. It's nine months later and I'm back home in Chicago listening to a playlist of all the songs they played. Great energetic after work crowd, this ranks among our favorite pub experiences and we went to more than a few on that trip!
Be the first to ReplyBottomless brunch
We had a bottomless brunch and wow… I don’t even know where to start, the service from the staff was amazing they catered for anything and everything. The food was delicious and served piping hot! The whole experience fantastic at such a reasonable price! This is my second time coming for a bottomless brunch and it just seems to get better and better, will not hesitate to come again!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat little boozer
Have walked past this pub so many times but have never been inside. As our local further down the road was closed for the weekend we popped in, so glad we did. Its a lovely propper old boozer,no food served which is refreshing these days, just booze! Great friendly bar staff & a buzzing chatty atmosphere. My husband drinks guiness & he said it was some of the best guiness he had ever drank, even as good as our local just down the road!!
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic gem
This one is a gem, a truly authentic pub in central London. This pub hasn't changed in probably 40 years, staying away from the gastro-pub trend that is killing this country's pub culture. Beers, Ales, spirits, service is always fast and to the point. Serious boozer.
Be the first to ReplyNOT family friendly
Entered the pub as a family (with three kids: 9, 9, and 7) and walked most of the way toward the back before being rudely told that kids aren’t allowed. There was no signage or anything indicating this was the case and the way we were told this made it seem as if we should just know. All of the other pubs we’ve encountered have been extremely welcoming and family friendly. If you’re traveling as a family, pass this one by.
Be the first to ReplySarcastic rude and unhelpful staff
After having several drinks and enjoying the atmosphere of the pub, and spending a lot of money. There was a problem with one of our drinks when we asked to have it changed we were treated with sarcasm and a bitter attitude - this created an uneasy atmosphere. The staff in this pub need some serious customer service training! They were rude with no people skills.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing pub
What a brilliant traditional pub. Even before entering it’s impressive, with a well decorated exterior to the point where even the entrance door isn’t overly obvious! Once inside its decorated magnificently with the ceiling covered in old copper pots, memorabilia and signs, with loads to admire and it feels more like a museum than a pub. The range of drinks isn’t massive but what is present is good quality and something for most tastes and the staff are friendly and efficient. It was quite crowded and busy on our visit but there was a great atmosphere and we were still able to find a small table in the window. This is a really unique pub and I’d highly recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a relaxing drink.
Be the first to ReplyUnpleasant Staff Discrimination and Harassment
Upon entering this what seemed a very welcoming establishment (cross keys) later to be proven wrong…I was greeted by the most remarkably rude and arrogant individual. Someone who clearly was having a bad day and was looking to take the stress of the day out on someone else. Now normally I would just let it slide but it seemed that the bar staff are not all in favour of the LGBTQ+ community and decided to make homophobic slurs in my direction… one was only seeking to enjoy a large glass of fizz whilst waiting for my trans boyfriend to turn up after his shift at a local restaurant But no !!! The abuse continued to come in a frightening manor so much so I rang my Partner Parker and advised him we’d meet else where … These individuals have no shame and arguably seemed to be proud of their bold as brass comment !! I can safely say I would never step foot in such an un-inclusive establishment and environment I will be making this know to my local 🏳️ 🌈 support group SHAME ON YOU !!!
Be the first to ReplyOutrageous and disappointing
My friend and I went to have a cup of coffee before I pickup my son from his nursery next-door The host James welcomed us and then after we ordered our coffee with almond or oat milk due to allergy reasons he answered sarcastically ( we are a pop darling, if you want coffee you can go to a coffee shop in King's Road) and even when we asked about the vegetarian meal he said that they don't do vegetarian meal and ask us to go to another restaurant We were shocked by his attitude and decided to leave and we were so clear that we didn't like his approach surly he opened the pop door and disrespectfully said after showedus the way out ( have a nice day ladies) So basically we've been kicked out of the pop Very very poor customer service 👎

Nice little pub with good service and not bad food, good vibes and fair drinks selection, worth visiting
Be the first to ReplyFor over 30 years been I've been visiting this pub!
Have been to The Cross Keys countless times. Really enjoyed the outside tables but they seem to have disappeared. This pub experience has fluctuated over the years depending on the managers. Has been fab in the past but currently undergoing a bit of a downturn IMHO. Our experience this time was of a harried single staff member over worked on the Jubilee weekend. 3 of our pints of London Pride were completely off. The barman said he couldn't change the keg as he was too busy so we got some substitute and it was not a good choice. A regular drank our 3 off pints. That was weird. Will continue to come for the atmosphere, which is usually good, the location and the memorabilia and the quirky stairs down to the mens loo but currently would not rate this the best spot to visit. Hope things go back up again soon.
Be the first to ReplyUnpretentious, friendly and pleasant
I had lunch at the cross keys but the value of this pub is not in the food. This pub is worth the friendliness and atmosphere it has. It's probably not the best pub in London; but it's a nice and friendly place. It was worth the visit.
Be the first to ReplySmall pub
Small pub, interesting inside but lack of real ale on tap on the night we visited. Luckily we managed to find a seat, but can become very busy.
Be the first to ReplyFriendly pub with some great memorabilia
We popped in for a drink. Love all the memorabilia. The staff were friendly and the drinks were reasonably priced. We would go back again.
Be the first to Replyloud music and surly staff
I have been to this pub a number of times over the years but not in a while. The other night I visited and the music is far too loud, so loud that people had to shout to be heard, or stand outside. I asked the barman to turn the music down and he was rather surly. The manager of this pub needs to realise it's a pub, not a nightclub, and people go to pubs to talk.
Be the first to ReplyNice Pub
Small characteristic London pub, good atmosphere and buzz, with reasonably priced drinks. Friendly bar staff would recommend a visit.
Be the first to ReplyLovely local pub - recommended
One of the rare traditional pubs in London with a very interesting selection of pop memorabilia and antique portraits and trinkets. Manager is unfailingly friendly as are the staff and the pub always employs decent, pleasant people who genuinely want the customer to return. Safe for women and LGBT+ friendly. Arrive before 9 pm as closes at 11.00 pm and 10.30 pm on Sunday. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyNice Bar!
We had a lovely time here last weekend. Not the sort of bar you would expect in the middle of london. Perfectly small and lovely (and very busy).

I really love this pub. Very cool. I love atmosphere over there. Very good service and very friendly staff. They follow all Covid rules. Very good selection of beers. Must go there .
Be the first to ReplyCharming quaint pub, restricted food menu, very cold sandwich
Charming pub, aesthetically pleasing, this is why I entered. Same inside, quaint. I asked for a menu, to check if there was something I liked; I've been asked: Food menu? I said yes but I've been told to sit and they brought me a "menu". There were only jacked potatoes and a few common sandwiches (like gammon ham, stilton, cheddar,brie/cucumber). I didn't want a potato or "easy to do" sandwich, so had coronation chicken one (the only one I can't make alone at home). It arrived with a very little bit of salad and chips, these were the good part. The sandwich was more than cold in and outside, the bread came from the fridge too..pieces of chicken were minuscule and the sauce was very liquid and sweet, so the pieces felt from the soft slices of bread. At the end I only ate the pieces without cold bread. If I had the chance to see the menu as asked I would have walked away..I would have liked something nice and typical English as those sandwiches are also in supermarkets and even better and cheaper.
About people inside: there were only 3 old men sitted alone drinking beers then arrived other 10 men, not a girl pub!
Great Pub - Pure Covent Garden!
Great bar staff, really attentive service and bags of atmosphere! Perfect mix of local residents, creative local workers & tourists with good taste! Great selection of beers - one of the best pubs in Covent Garden!
