Never disappoints
We come here every time we visit Myrtle Beach. Never disappoints. Had the grouper and crab special, and crab cake. Delicious.

We went for dinner as a family of 5 on the way out of town. I donโt know if this is a โfamilyโ place. We were dressed down and many adults were dressed a little nicer. Not white tablecloth, but more date night. Very few kids and the kids menu said โwell behavedโ kids with few options. However, the food was very good. Chicken teriyaki with the pineapple, fried Cajun shrimp entree were great. Very cool decor and has a Miami/South Florida type of vibe and atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic- Prime Rib - medium rare - it was perfect
Prime Rib was fantastic - lobster bites for appetizer - loved it - decor was nice - would highly recommend - waitress was very professional and knowledgeable - wife had the tuna - she was happy- will definitely go again
Be the first to ReplyDelicious steak and lobster!
Katy was a great waitress! Food was delicious! Make sure to make a reservation but service was fast even with a full restaurant. It was also great to see owners walking around and greeting guests!
Be the first to ReplyFood is very rich and $$$. Atmosphere is nice but noisy. Beware the sampler.
We finally visited the Flamingo Grill and overall experience was good. The food is pricey so we may return on special occassions. The she-crab soup is very good (rating 9.5 out of 10). The bread sticks and salid are also good (rating 8). The sampler was a big disappointment. The platter consisted of Fried Lobster Bites, Fried Cajun Calamari, & Crabcake. First the good...the Crabcake was very good (rating 9)... the Lobster Bites were a big disappointment, too much batter and far too rich dipping sauce - excessive butter, (rating 6)....but the worst was by far the Cajun Calamari which was not much calamari and globs and globs of just fried batter (rating 2). Now for the best....the Blacken Prime Rib was very very good (rating 9), the side dishes of garlic potatoes (rating 8) and the green beans (rating 6.5) which was somewhat bland. The salted caramel cheese cake was very good also (rating 9.5). Overall the restaurant has a very nice atmosphere but can be very noisy. The service was excellent. Again, very pricey but go try the Prime Rib and soup which are very good, skip the calamari which is 80% fried batter droppings...yuk.

Our first meal in Myrtle and we choose correctly. Nice vibe, good service, amaizing food. Could see that is a very tradicional restaurant in the city where people go and dont wanna leave because of the atmosfere.

We always stop in on our vist to Myrtle Beach, and they never disappoint. Food and service is exceptional! Also, it's always nice seeing the owner walking around to check on things.
Be the first to ReplyDon't Understand the Hype
Stopped in because 'all the locals' love it. Seated promptly on a Friday night. Service was SLOW from the start so we should have known. Food was just okay. I did like the fact they offer small plates. Atmosphere is definitely flamingo-y which is not a bad thing! None of our party will ever return so try this at your own risk.

My wife had been here the week before and really liked it, so she suggested we eat here. We had dinner and both got side salads with our entree orders, and it was very good -- we opted for the Greek version with Greek dressing, and they were tasty. My wife tried the grouper Oscar and really liked it. I had the shrimp and grits entree, and it was okay -- not much taste to the grits. We split a salted caramel cheesecake, and it was superb. I noticed that they offer Cakebread chardonnay by the bottle for only $60 which is quite the bargain in a restaurant. If you can find it in a wine store it usually goes for close to $50. In a restaurant it can go for $100 a bottle. Since I don't drink wine (my wife does - but didn't need a whole bottle) we just ordered Tanqueray and tonics. We would return the next time we are in town.

This is one of my favorites around town. Great atmosphere. We ate here a few weeks ago, I had the Filet which was disappointing, it was a little tough. Last week we came back, my brother-in-law had the ribeye and he was disappointed. My wife and I had the prime rib blackened and it was the best prime rib I ever had. So much flavor! The lobster is very reasonable compared to other restaurants. Our family is visiting and we are going back tonight. Reservations are recommended.

Five of us went to dinner around 7pm. Place was hopping on a Monday night. Senior crowd and Iโd go back in a heartbeat! Diana was a quick and informed server, kept drinks filled and table cleared. Prime rib was flavorful, lobster bites delicious and snapper delightful. Upscale flavor, owners in house and excellent food; a rare treat in Myrtle Beach.

Meal was very good. Entrees come with salad, vegetable, bread and potato. All were very good. Couldn't eat it all! The Peach drink was delicious as was my husbands but I forget what it was called. Our waiter Matt was excellent, knowledgeable, pleasant and efficient. We had made reservations to take the family the next day but after being in the car for 4 hours and then the pool, the toddler wasn't ready for a restaurant so unfortunately we could not go the again. Hope to be back next year.

Had dinner here on a Thursday night and we ordered the specials; Grouper Oscar and Snapper. Both fishes were very good. I would not order the mashed potatoes again, they were pasty. The salads were smallish, overdressed and had been sitting on their plates to be served for awhile (at least thatโs the way I see it). The two dinners were $90; I expected better. Again I will say both fish were nicely done.

We visit Flamingo Grill when we winter in Myrtle Beach. It is one of our favorite eateries. This recent visit did not disappoint. We recommend making reservations, especially on the weekends. Upon our arrival, we decided to enjoy cocktails at the beautiful bar. The menu is very extensive with several fish and meat options. Our dinners came with salad, bread, and choice of sides. I selected the prime rib, and my husband had the strip steak. Both entrees were delicious , and cooked perfectly to order. For dessert, we shared a luscious chocolate pecan pie.

Tried last year for first time. Was looking forward to visiting again. The she crab soup appetizer was excellent and a good value compared to other restaurants. A plus that several small plate meals are available for those who are not big eaters and makes cost a good value. I had the crab cake small plate and it was delicious. There was more food than I could eat. You get bread with your soup, salad, and meal. The bread was not as warm and soft as it should have been, just OK. Good house salad dressing if you like tangy. My husband got the 6 oz filet topped with crab special which was a little pricey at $41. He was highly disappointed. His steak had gristle running thru it which should never happen with a filet. The Waitress is one of the best! She has been there for years and is amazing.

Superior service, excellent food and good price for the quality of food. Great Art Deco decor. Although we were a very small party, the restaurant serviced very large parties efficiently.
Be the first to ReplyHard to Believe We Never Ate Here Sooner
It's hard to believe that despite visiting MB for years and living here for 8 years that we had never been here before Valentine's Day! We will be back!! We had call-ahead seating for 7:30pm. We arrived at 6:50pm and had planned to have a drink at their bar before dinner but learned that the bar was being used for diners, so we had to just wait (that was the only negative to our visit here). We were seated at 7:10pm. Management did a good job of seating people even though it was crowded. They have a good variety (seafood, steaks, prime rib, chicken, sandwiches, and Italian) on their menu. Service was outstanding, our server was Kristen and she was very helpful managing my wife's dinner selections with her food allergy. The prices were reasonable and ample portions. Plus, they had Blanton's bourbon.

Wife and I have eaten here twice in the past 10 days. Food has been excellent both times. Wait staff has been efficient and friendly. Our second time we simply ordered a couple items off the appetizer menu for our meal. We were both satisfied with the amount of food. The she crab soup was superb. Plus we were able to save room for the key lime pie. I absolutely recommend the key lime pie. Price is reasonable for the amount of food. We'll certainly return here.
Be the first to ReplyOwner knows what he is doing
The Flamingo is a gem. The owners certainly know how to run a restaurant. The food was great, the atmosphere wonderful, and the service friendly and efficient. DIno the owner even came by the table to ask how everything was, you don't see that often anymore.
Be the first to ReplyGood restaurant in area
Flamingo is a great spot to check out. I would recommend for a date night, or also if family is in town it is a great menu that will likely accommodate all. For sure worth a visit.
Be the first to ReplyJust keeps getting better
I visit the Myrtle Beach area in the off season pretty frequently and always plan a visit to Flamingo Grill. The last time I was there was two years ago. Last night I had one of the best experiences there ever. The food was fantastic, a filet for me, prime rib for my dining companion. Both were cooked perfectly, the salads and sides were delicious. It's all included with your meal, a terrific value. Our server was wonderful, the beer was cold and the atmosphere is so festive and fun. The owner stopped by our table to be sure we were happy. That's one reason for their long term success, owners on site. They truly care about their restaurant and their guests.Don't waste time or money going somewhere else. You won't regret it!
Be the first to ReplyGreat service, some terrible food
Our party of 11 visited tonight for my mother in laws birthday. The building and grounds are in need of repair as there is tape across upholstery, mats covering the bricks outside, and more Let me start by saying our service was great. I wish I had gotten our waitressโ name so I could recognize her. The food came out and the person delivering the food poured the au jus from my prime rib all over my shorts and arm. My wife had the flounder Cagney and it was terrible. Multiple people at our table tried and all were agreement that it was bitter and tasted โoffโ. The overall consistency was like mashed potatoes or pudding. You couldnโt even tell there was fish in there (if there was). Everyone that tried some felt sick to their stomach later on and my wife ended up vomiting because her stomach was so upset. My prime rib was over cooked and charred instead of blackened
Be the first to ReplyDisrespectful Owner/ Stay Away!
I typically only write a review if it is a positive experience. However, our experience at this restaurant was unacceptable! We are local to the area and have been going to this restaurant for YEARS. We know the food and know what to expect. All my husband wanted for his birthday was Lobster from Flamingo Grill, NEVER AGAIN! The first lobster that came out had absolutely no flavor and almost had a chemical taste. We both work in the Hospitality Industry so we understand food waste and food costs and felt terrible to send it back, but for $30+ dollars we had to. The taller Dino (owner) stopped by our table and touched the lobster and said "oh yeah this is way overcooked I'll get you another one". A new lobster was brought to our table by a food runner and it tasted the exact same way! Again, we've been coming to this establishment for years and we know what the lobster typically tastes like. At this point we just didn't want it because it was truly that bad. My husband felt awful for wasting two lobsters, but they were simply not edible! We understand things like this happen; especially now with food product and shortages but it's what happened next that is making me leave a review. The shorter Dino (owner) proceeded to come to our table and berate my husband about the lobster! He said lobster does not have flavor and he's been serving the same lobster for 40 years. My husband apologized that he wasted the lobster, but again told him we're locals and have been coming for years and know what the lobster tastes like and this was not it! He then yelled that "YES YOU WASTED TWO OF MY LOBSTERS! LOBSTERS DON'T HAVE A TASTE THAT'S JUST HOW THEY ARE!โ We were so taken aback by his UNACCEPTABLE behavior! When we informed him that we were told we weren't the first costumers to complain tonight and that something must be wrong with the Lobsters he stormed away to the kitchen. Since they have an open kitchen we could see him screaming at our poor waitress! I couldn't believe what I was watching. Our waitress came back to our table almost in tears and said she thinks she's going to be fired. I felt so bad for her, NO ONE should be treated that way! It is was not her fault that the lobster was either bad or terribly overcooked. To see an owner speak to his employee like that was DISGUSTING! We will NEVER step foot in their establishment again. The food not being good this time we could have look past, but being screamed at by the owner and then watching him scream at his employee not once, but twice is something we will not support! Think twice before giving this business your money. They have been around for many years, but I think it's time the older owner hangs up his hat and lets other takeover. He clearly shouldn't be interacting with customers or employees for that matter. The rest of our food wasn't as good as it used to be either.

I generally never leave reviews, but I felt it too important not to leave one. Keep on driving past this place. The food is under seasoned and over priced and some dishes were just horrible. We ordered the sampler appetizer that included their famous lobster bites. There is no lobster in them. The texture is best described as jelly fish. As a person who grew up in the New England area when you see lobster you expect Maine lobster. I found out from another reviewer that it is slipper lobster. The steaks was cooked well, but had no seasoning. But at least you could add your own salt and pepper. The waitress was in a bad mood and provided poor service. Will not return and recommend you donโt go.
