The Greenhouse is an excellent restaurant that I highly recommend. The atmosphere is elegant and upscale, and the service is impeccable. The menu features a range of creative and flavorful dishes, with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The wine list is extensive, and the sommelier is knowledgeable and helpful. Overall, The Greenhouse is a fantastic choice for a special occasion or a memorable dining experience.

Be the first to ReplyDo not go unless you're willing to wait 30mjn between each
Do not go unless you're willing to wait 30mjn between each course and budget 3 hours of your evening for a 6 course meal. We visited the Greenhouse on our recent trip to Dublin. As the trip was rather short, we researched all the Michelin star restaurants close to the hotel and based upon the reviews, decided to visit the Greenhouse. First, for travelers coming from out of the country: you can make a reservation on the website and they'll put a pre authorization on your credit card (there's a fine chargeable to the card just like at any other Michelin restaurant if you don't show up). Our reservation was for Tuesday, at 6pm. We arrived promptly and were greeted upon entering restaurant and seated. We were presented with two options for a tasting menu: a 4 course or 6course. Since we were rather hungry, we decided to opt for 6 courses which was also only slightly more expensive. I'll cut to the bottom: the food was actually pretty good. However, the time we spent sitting at an empty table and wondering if they had kitchen problems that night was something that should have never happened at a restaurant like this. Also, inconsistency was another thing that was clearly visible. The restaurant was not that busy and we were the first table that arrived that night, followed by a couple other tables. The rounds for each one of the three tables would always come out at the same time yet they were always served In a different order. For example, the second round would be served to table 3, our table then table 2. Then the next round would be first served to our table, then table 2 and 3 etc even though we were all sitting at our empty tables and waiting half an hour for the next course to appear. There was no apology from the waitress or the manager and judging by other reviews, the timing and inconsistency is something the restaurant struggles with on a daily basis. If we were local, this might have not been such a huge deal but having a limited time in Dublin, I almost regret going to the green house since we were forced to sacrifice other attractions that night due to the extreme length of service. Would not return.
Be the first to ReplyReally interesting place.
It's a Michelin Star restaurant so much smarter people than me have already reviewed it. But here goes The place is set up with a fine dining feel. The host and waiters are top tier and extremely knowledgeable. Something we wish we knew before going is that it is a pre fixe menu. We went for the 6 course with 6 wine paring. Everything was exquisitely prepared and had very unique taste. Until we got to the pigeon... which was definitely not our favorite. :xThe desserts were some of the best we've ever had. It was definitely a dining "experience". Not a place to go to have a few pints with your pals and get a hearty steak. But if you're an adventurous eater and willing to spend around $500 for a 2 person dinner, then it's worth checking out. Also I think it is worth mentioning again, the staff were amazing.

We opted for the tasting menu paired with wine and it was well worth it.Service was stuffy and the place had a relaxed feel to it. Not something you would so every month but certainly for a special occasion.
Be the first to ReplyWe had the 4 course tasting menu.
They were very accommodating with a few dietary restrictions that I listed which we had mentioned in our booking. I could not have the foie gras so the chef made me a parmesan cream ravioli instead! Service, food, and presentation was all exceptional! The photos show it all and everything tasted as good as it looks!

What sets The Greenhouse apart for me is that each dish has a perfect balance of richness and acidity. Initially, unsure about The 130 EUR six-course tasting menu, but wow, we got three amuse bouche (unheard of) to tease us about what was to come. I really did not expect the level of creativity nor the simplistic elegance of the experience. The hardest thing to do is not to fill up on the bread. Even harder was to decide which course was best. Huge scallop fan and the truffle was so good. Also, love my foie gras (more so seared versus mouse), but the perfect balance of sorbet acid and the richness of the mouse is an example of how they got the flavors right. We did not select the 100 EUR wine pairing, but instead worked a bit with the sommelier to purchase wine by the glass which complimented our selections. The wine list has some great values for both bottles and glasses (again normally prices are sky high here). I think we may have spent 150 EUR on wine for the three of us, including finishing with an amazing selection of sweet wines with our dessert courses, huge value in my opinion.I can think of other Michelin 1 and 2-star restaurants where I have paid much more for the same quality (or less) food. Finally, the service and pace of food was great, which is usually a challenge for pre-fixe menus.

Be the first to ReplyMy mother and I were very excited to eat at the Greenhouse
My mother and I were very excited to eat at the Greenhouse on our last night in Dublin after hearing rave reviews from friends and reading the same online. We elected to go with the six-course meal along with wine pairings. The food was stellar and the service phenomenal. The sommelier in particular was noteworthy. However, our problems began roughly 24 hours later after my mother was hospitalized with severe food poisoning. She experienced the full gamut of symptoms, ranging from dehydration and nausea to vomiting, and, well, other food poisoning symptoms that I do not want to list online. Within several hours, I experienced many of the same symptoms. We missed our flights, spent a good portion of our trip learning about the Irish healthcare system first hand, and were violently ill for several days. All in all, eating at the Greenhouse cost us around 1500 euros including the costs of a last minute rebooking (for which the airline may possibly waive), healthcare bills, hotel bills, and the days of missed work. I spoke with the Greenhouse's manager to first and foremost ensure that they were aware of the possibility their food was contaminated. The manager was adamant that their chef took the proper precautions and that our illnesses must have arisen elsewhere (we had only eaten bread and fruit the day we visited the Greenhouse and the night before we had two separate dishes at a seafood restaurant). But the Greenhouse's manager refused to admit culpability or the possibility that our illnesses stemmed from the raw food we consumed at the Greenhouse and instead blamed our food poisoning on the cooked food we ate 48 hours prior to experiencing symptoms.Although the Greenhouse's manager promised to follow up regarding my mother within several days, I never received a phone call. Nor did the Greenhouse offer to comp even part of our meal. I never anticipated receiving this sort of treatment at a Michelin star restaurant. Nor did I expect that eating at the Greenhouse would prove to be the costliest meal of our lives or that it would lead to a visit at the Beaumont Hospital Emergency Department. My mom and I are currently waiting to receive the full paperwork documenting her food poisoning diagnosis from the doctors at Beaumont Hospital so that we may file a formal complaint with FSAI.

During my stay in Dublin, my friends and I decided to check out The Greenhouse. I checked out all the Michelin star restaurants in Dublin and this one stood out to me. Seemed really interesting.Well, it did not disappoint. The manager of the restaurant was very nice. While it was a high class restaurant still felt very comfortable. We went with the tasting menu with the wine pairing. The chef did a fantastic job with the food. Beef tartare cones were a pleasant surprise. So much flavor for something so small. The foie gras with smoked eel is something I still dream about. I can go on and on.. think you guys get the point. Everything was so flavorful and interesting. Wine pairing was excellent and a great compliment to each meal. Hats of the the young sommelier from France. Had a nice conversation with him also.Service was great. The staff was very friendly and professional. Chef came out to serve us one of the courses and very friendly.Over all, I definitely recommend it. From the moment we walked into the moment we left, it was worth every penny.

4.5 stars ****This was my first international Michelin star restaurant. I dined here for lunch and did their 3 course set menu for 60 euros. We also added their creamed potatoes for 7 euros. The meal started out with their fresh bread and Irish butter. Irish butter is so amazing. The cows here must be something else. After the bread came the croquettes made in charcoal stuffed with pudding. This was a nice start to our menu. My appetizer was the foie gras royale. Omg this was one of the best dishes I have ever had. I could not get enough. I would come back especially for this dish. My friend ordered the scallop ceviche and that dish was also amazing. My main course was dexter beef. The beef was perfectly cooked and tender. The brussel sprouts came in a separate bowl with this delicious creamy sauce and bits of wagyu in it. I thought my friends cod tasted better though and I would get that next time. The only thing we did not like was the citrus desert. Made with fresh lemons, the tartness was a real shock to our tastebuds. The chocolate one was way better and paired perfectly with the milk sherbet. I would pass on the creamed potatoes as this was super heavy and nothing special. Overall, this was a great tasting menu despite the citrus desert. Service was impeccable and the food was presented beautifully. I can't wait to come back to try their dinner menu!
