Most amazing dining experience
We went in the winter and they had these private booths that had a tv and fireplace. The waiter brought your food out in these bags so that it wouldn’t get cold. Amazing views, you have to download an app to reserve though. We had the chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans, and it was delicious. Price was high but for the experience was worth it. Hope that they do this every year. So romantic.

Be the first to ReplySTAY AWAY!!!! Below average service and food!
This review is for the patio part of the Greens. This place literally think they’re comparable to catch or STK. They scream at you if god forbid you walk through the mediocre restaurant to get from one side to the other. Ok sure, you don’t want anyone walking across, but say it nicely my god. They literally think they’re a Michelin star restaurant when they only serve chicken tenders, burgers, overly expensive cocktail shrimp and gentrified Vietnamese shrimp rolls. The waiters don’t have to do much work cause the orders are placed digitally on the app so they don’t even greet you at all or even bring you water. They also expect a tip BEFORE you eat and finish your meal. You have to go through the indoor restaurant to use the bathroom, without giving a chance to look for the bathroom— the obnoxious bartender ask you “how can I help you?” Like you’re intruding into their turf. Relax, it’s a mediocre restaurant that I’m paying to eat it. They also don’t have mayo or any condiments besides ketchup. Their burger is meh so it needed condiments. Go to Shake Shack or an authentic Pho place if you guys want actual good food. This place is so pretentious and off putting with their overly expensive subpar food. NOT worth it.
Be the first to ReplyWay too expensive for what you get.
Food was OK (at best). Some came warm, some cold, none was hot. Very small portions. Chicken was spicy. Mac & Cheese was bland. Spinach and Cheese Empanada was good, but certainly not $14 good. You have 90 minutes once you arrive to order, eat, and leave.... and they let you know it and remind you at 30 minutes remaining. Forget about having time to enjoy a coffee or dessert, unless you order it when you order your dinner.
Everything about the experience feels rushed, cheap, and average. Absolutely not worth $300 for 4 people. We will not return.
Underwhelming and overpriced.
Food and drinks were served in paper and plastic takeout containers. The wine was ok. The mixed drinks were pre-made in cans.
Food was lukewarm and about the quality of cafeteria food. It gave us all the feeling the kitchen just ordered to go, tripled the price and served it too us.
There is no service at all. They bring you to the cabin and from there you order on your phone. If you need someone you have to buzz them.
When ordering on your phone you pay and complete the tip before you get the food. I get servers need the tip money and I am a min 20-25% tipper, but come on. At least stop back at the table once… maybe twice.
The views are nice if you leave your cabin and walk around. We were in a south facing cabin and most of the view was blocked by the added landscaping. So really you can get these views from many other spots.
All that plus $50 to just reserve the cabin. Nope, will not recommend. I only gave it a two vs. a one, as the interior of the cabin was cute and the idea has so much potential!
Overhyped views & underwhelming drinks
Pier17 is a great place to get views of Brooklyn & Brooklyn bridge from across the East river/Manhattan. The restaurants on the ground level looked appealing, and there are tons of lawn chairs & tables to enjoy your food with great views of the nearby bridge. However, when we went up to the 5th floor, where The Greens is located, much of the view was obstructed by a stage and only a few tables closer to the waters edge had views across the river to Brooklyn. As mentioned before, the menu is completely digital via QR codes, and you will have to order & pay on your phone. No server will come to your table to take your order & kitchen staff will come to deliver your drinks/food. Our drinks were served in plastic cups with straws, and food we saw was also in "to go" cardboard boxes. I am all for recycled paper goods, but for the higher end prices of the food/drink, I would expect proper plates & glasses to be used. We had limited views from our table, but were fortunate to be under a pergola so it was shady during the hot afternoon.
Be the first to ReplySo not worth it
So not worth it. You pay $40 just to sit down and then get served cold food in Plastic boxes like you’re getting takeout. And the food sucks. Also can someone let them know covid rates are lowest they’ve been in ny and anyone who wants a vax can get one so what is the contactless BS making us order and pay online on our phone which is not user friendly and takes forever. $4 for a bottle of water? I asked for tap to take some medication and got it about 45 mins later. The view is nice but you can see that from a lot of places downtown. This is a rip off.
Be the first to ReplyCool place
This is a cool setting to be after spending Hours walking visiting the city. Unfortunately. The choice of food you can order is limited and not totally healthy.. Me and my friend ordered both the Shrimp fricasse and the crab BLT. To my surprise they were pretty damn good especially the crab BLt sandwich. It was delicious. My problem with this resto is that they do not have a lot of options for healthy food. They need to incluye more healthy foods on their menu.
Be the first to ReplyGood ambience but terrible terrible food!
Absolutely horrible food! Also, please don't order the Cheese Fondue if you want to save yourself some embarrassment. The cocktails were a joke. And all this at such an exorbitant price
Be the first to ReplyMost creative and socially distanced rooftop in town
This rooftop experience was amazing!! The creativity that has gone into building a fun and socially distanced dining space is incredible. I have been here twice - once in October when there were spaced out mini lawns with deckchairs, and again in November when the lawns were replaced with mini greenhouses. It is pricey and you don't really come here for the food. You come here for the experience and it is completely worth it. You order from your phone and the food is delivered in boxes. Covid protocols are followed. The greenhouses are the best quality in town and the service is fantastic.

the restaurant does not have menus, you must use the QR code on the table to order and pay for your meal; the instructions on the table claim you can just aim your phone camera and it pulls up the menu; this did not work for me but remembered twitter app has a QR scanner reader and that did work; reservations are mandatory; your drinks are served in plastic cubs and food comes in a cardboard box
