Don't bother, book the premier inn
-10 Worse place I've ever stayed and we stayed at a bad place in Edinburgh but at least that room was clean with a decent bed. This room hadn't seen a vacuum cleaner in years, the shower was disgusting and the towels were too small for a child. The bed was probably older than me! We had no sleep as the mattress was so old and thin and on a bit of wood. We got up and left at 6am without even using the shower it was so bad. Avoid any room in the old building. We also were annoyed that we were not informed that the restaurant was not useable due to a private function so we had to take a taxi to a Miller and Carter making it an expensive night.

We had booked a room in November 2022 for a 40th wedding anniversary on the 4th March and when we arrived on the evening of the 4th March they had no room for us and I was asked to prove that I had paid in full and confirmation of my booking. I showed them the confirmation receipt of £70 and we looked pretty stupid standing in a busy bar with our luggage etc. All they did was give us a refund and found us some accommodation in Apsley? but we would have to book this ourselves??? which defeated the object of staying at the party venue as this other hotel would have meant taxi's there and back. I feel pretty let down and they really didn't want to do anything for their error which I find totally unacceptable. I would if I was anyone else to double check that they have definitely got your room as they will not want to put there errors right and yes they will give you a refund but that's not good enough if you then have to be responsible for sorting and paying for another hotel miles away??? The young lady who was left to try and sort us out including the refund was very apologetic but she was left to do the dirty work of the owners who didn't come near us the rest of the evening to see how things were. They really need to do much better and we feel let down.

Great nights sleep in a warm cozy room. Clean, comfortable, basic room, but at the rate, that is absolutely fine. Really nice reasonably price breakfast. Lunch was also amazing, the roasts where huge, and again reasonably priced. Our friends and their 2 boys joined us for lunch and they loved it as well. All the staff were realty friendly and helpful, we returned after they had closed, but entry was simple with an external key We'd definitely stay again as it was great for our needs.

For a Bar and Restaurant, sure, it's decent, you get what you order. However, for a "Hotel" the service was poor. the ladies weren't attentive at all, one in particular had a very bad attitude and was not welcoming. The room I stayed in was fine, I was satisfied with it, the place needs WIFI though, £85 for a night and no WIFI is pretty painful. I would give it a 3 star but as only one staff member was welcoming and helpful out of 4 on shift, it's a 2 from me.

What a fab place to stay. We stayed as it was close to Harry Potter studios. We had a few mishaps on the start of our journey, missed our original bus time, so had to wait for the next one. Then we realised that if we went from London Victoria to Kings Langley, we wouldn’t be on time for our tour, so we had to take a black cab, which ended up costing us £130, for 3 adults and 2 children. Just managed to get to the hotel, and because we were so late, one of the staff called us a taxi, which was extremely thoughtful. The rooms were very quaint, and very clean, the staff were amazing, and the food was superb. We really couldn’t fault it, and we would definitely return to stay and to eat. Thank you to all the staff. Paula Pothecary and family x

Ended up here for food as recommended by a security guard at Harry Potter world. We were stopping in a nearby hotel and the food was shocking. We came here, had a lovely warm welcome and ordered food, home cooked food for a very reasonable price. Lovely steak. Great size meals. Learned this has bed and breakfast also, wish I would have stayed here rather than the Hunton Park Hotel

The overwhelming smell of urine in the room was the first thing noticed. We understand it is an old building but decor was grim. The room wasn't a bad size but the uneven staircase and head trauma exiting the bathroom was unexpected. The broken mirror in the room and then on closer inspection finding a keyhole in said mirror. The mirror acted as a door to another room that someone else ( not from our party) was staying in! Could see and hear the other occupants as if they were sat in the same bed as us!! Wouldn't recommend a stay here unless you like the feeling of being watched.

Old pub with lots of character, staff were lovely, friendly and helpfull. Room was clean, well equipt with tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, lovely and warm, bed was really comfy. We had both dinner and breakfast, good portions, lovely and hot, yummy food! Would def reccommend. Thankyou

We stayed for 2 nights. The room was big, very comfortable & clean. We had breakfast both mornings as well as dinner both evenings. The food was excellent, good portions and reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful & friendly...thank you Lesley, Gemma & Sue for looking after us. We chose this place as it is only a 6 minute drive from the Harry Potter Warner Brothers studio tour that we'd booked.
