Went Saturday night and we and another couple had a nice evening but unfortunately overall it was just a little flat. Food obviously nice but nothing really stood out apart from the home grown mushrooms that were exquisite. Service was friendly and efficient I fear memories of how good it used to be may have got expectations too high and it’s still working on its new identity. And an average night for 600 a couple isn’t what it should be
What a dining experience! Eaten in a few London starred restaurants and in all honesty they’ve been a bit of a let down. But not here!! I know the place has recently been refurbished after it closed during Covid so I can’t make a comparison to what it was like before but it’s beautifully set out. I was surprised there was no where to have a drink prior to our meal, but I guess in London you need tables in all available space.
Now it isn’t cheap but it was an experience worth it as The Ledbury really does have a fantastic reputation! We had been waiting fir an opportunity to dine here before Covid hit and were absolutely gutted when it closed down. As soon as we had heard it had reopened it was a priority place to book and we managed to get a table. I was very surprised that it didn’t regain the 2 stars it had previous to lockdown. I’m sure they will get then when the next announcements are made.
The food was fabulous. Beautifully presented, and most importantly tasted amazing! I won’t spoil the surprise of describing the dishes but you won’t be disappointed!! The wine pairing was good but there were no wines which really “surprised” me. They were all just “nice”
Staff were genuinely lovely. All very attentive without being overbearing and willing to interact and read our needs throughout the whole evening. Folding napkins when we weren’t at the table even replacing mine when I dropped it on the floor. Little subtle touches is where it makes them stand out. And not a single hint of pretentiousness at all. The evening was an absolute delight!
We absolutely loved the new menu. Crab entree, the mushroom plate and the vanilla custard were the highlights of the tasting menu for us. Chef Brett is such a humble and friendly person that he welcomes all his guests seperately and that treats them like the stars of the night, while in reality he is one. His technique, plating and matching choices are all flawless. The staff’s approach to the guests is also worth noting, disciplined and very attentive but genuinely welcoming at the same time. We are so glad to see Ledbury back to London’s fine dining scene. Wonderful date night.
This was our second visit following the enforced pandemic closure. Internally, the place has been refurbed and now feels quite different and more grown up and glamorous. As before, the food and service in faultness. Favorite dishes the coal cooked trout and crab were standout. The only downside was the size of the bill. It's £185 a head, plus paired wine at another £120 per person. But, as they say, you have to pay for quality....
Being closed for a couple of year, it is lovely to see Ledbury back on track! My favorite desserts are surely here and the diversity of their menu is simply astonishing!
Welcome back to Brett & the team! Delighted to have The Ledbury back open & welcoming diners as only they know how. We were lucky enough to get a reservation a couple of weeks in advance & one of us flew in to London especially for the dinner! It didn’t disappoint. We had such a lovely evening - food was second to none. The team were as welcoming as always and the room was full of happy people enjoying the experience. Brett made his way around the restaurant & stopped to have a chat - such a nice guy & we were a little starstruck to be honest 🤩 We couldn’t have been happier with our evening when we left & we will be back 😊
Emerging from a 2 year hiatus, the Ledbury is as brilliant as ever. Luminously fresh mackerel slivers were marinaded, torched, served with horseradish and tender white beetroot. The cod was pan-roasted, succulent and super fresh too. Locally sourced ingredients bursting with flavour and character. As a mushroom fan, I was enthralled to see “loaves” of fungi being carefully raised in a display cabinet. Friendly, knowledgeable servers and sommeliers, excited and on their toes. Well done indeed!
Wonderful to be back. Food is excellent as always, and the team is doing a fantastic job making an evening at the Ledbury very special. I admire that they have gotten it all together despite only reopening about a week ago. Just such a professional operation. Spring is coming.
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
