Best meal of the holiday
This ended up being our favourite meal on our last night of our holiday. Ironically it was also the cheapest. I had the special of the day being lobster and shrimp risotto expecting it to be a minimum of $80 but upon seeing the bill it was only $40. Well made risotto with a very generous portion of lobster. My husband had the octopus starter followed by the ragu. Both were delicious, I tried the octopus and not even being a fan of octopus really enjoyed it. We shared a semifreddo, which was nice but not quite up to the standard of the rest of the meal. Clientele were a little older and seemed to be regulars. Service was very attentive. Location is lovely especially with the Christmas lights up. Would definitely return.

Nice venue and attentive service. Food is good, a bit pricey for the quality of food but acceptable given the great location
Be the first to ReplyWonderful dining experience!
This is a beautiful restaurant and I would highly recommend dining here! The service was perfect and the food was amazing. I loved the pacing, as they let us take our time and we never felt rushed. It is a great place for a special evening and we will definitely be back again!

We haven’t had the pleasure of dining here yet! BUT our experience at the Leopard at the Hotel Des Artistes deserves this 5 star plus review. My sister and I, visiting NYC, were at the nearby “Adventure Playground” at Central Park on a Saturday evening with my 22 month old & 6 year old grandchildren. We were dressed for playgrounds & babysitting in NYC on a very warm summer day. The 6 year old really needed to use a restroom. There are NOT ANY public restrooms near the playground. We passed Tavern By the Green thinking no way they would accommodate us. We saw the nearby Hotel des Artistes on 67th Street. The Leopard at the Hotel des Artistes is the restaurant at this beautiful, historic, very famous, classy residential building. The attending staff warmly welcomed my grandson & my sister, while I admired the elegant setting & diners outside with my toddler grandson in his stroller. Afterwards, I heard how kind & reassuring the gentleman who took them inside was to our little boy. I’m definitely not suggesting that others plan to use the Leopard at Hotel des Artistes as a public restroom stop. However, we will be telling our NYC family & friends to patronize this restaurant. Their kind, understanding & welcoming staff exemplifies a place that cares for their diners & others. They absolutely deserve our business.

Came here for dinner. Great atmosphere and welcoming staff. We ordered the lasagna and the veal, and were not disappointed. Everything was delicious. Would definitely come here again. 👍👍
Be the first to ReplyOld World Excellence
Looking for well prepared old world Itaiian, exceptional wine list and impeccable service....this is the place for you. The menu is just wonderful...All Secondi (Pasta) dishes are made there...from start to finish it is just fabulous....
Be the first to ReplyValue for money not there
Somehow a nice cozy place, nice location too. Food and service good, but not as stunning as the prices should suggest. Simply far too expansive for what you get.
Be the first to ReplyItaly on Central Park West
For American palates, the food may be a little ambitious. But having been to Europe, we consider The Leopard to be authentic Italian. Not cheap, but lots easier to take a cab than a plane. Its classic and classy and right here.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
I think it’s too expensive for what you get. Very old styled design… Very nice waitress though. I would not recommend this restaurant
Be the first to ReplyOK but just not worth the money
For a $300 meal I expect more refinement and more authenticity. The food was tasty enough but really doesn’t justify the price. My sweetbread starter needed some salt and some more flavour. My wife had a risotto of saffron and sausage and there was just too much saffron to taste anything else; my risotto alla Milanese is frankly better. I had a pork dish that was good but a decent restaurant in Italy would have cooked the meet over wood and served simply rather than in a big pile of meat and potato.
Drinks at the bar were excellent and service superb, but the food was pretty average and I’ve had way better at neighbourhood mom and pop Italian in NYC. As for food in Italy, this is nowhere near there.
Perfect dinner
Although it was a Sunday evening on a holiday weekend, the food and service were absolutely outstanding. What a delight.
Be the first to ReplyA plus
Food and Service A plus. They allow BYOB on Sunday Night, and bring the best you own. The food is worthy. Art filled room, solicitous but not overbearing service. Birthday celebration tonight, and I hope it becomes a tradition.

Beautiful room - and that’s it -
They served a pricey cocktail with the wrong kind of ice - the food is expensive but not very good - service is spotty - maybe have a glass of wine and check out the murals but nothing more
Intimate and Sophisticated
As New Yorkers who love to dine out and have many choices, we find we keep returning to this unusual spot. It sits on a quiet street and in the COVID era, has two lovely outdoor areas with flowers, lights and tablecloths. Inside, the tables are nicely spaced and the waitstaff is careful with masking and distancing. The restaurant is very romantic with its lighting and its colorful historic painted murals on the walls.
The food is imaginative and delicious. We enjoy the various courses along with the excellent cocktails, champagne and wines...recently we enjoyed a beautiful Italian pinot noir. The service is attentive and helpful with suggestions. All in all, a place to go when you want it all!
Phenomenal Favorite Spot!
There isn't an item on the menu that will not leave you wanting to enjoy another visit. Whether it is the octopus or the burrata as an appetizer, the chicken (yes, chicken!) or the branzino, all my favorites, your taste buds will be heightened with the flavorful way the chef prepares the dishes. If you were to top off your evening w/ either a decadent chocolate mousse or simply berries (well, really not "simply" here), appetites would be satisfied beyond measure as ours are consistent. Add on to that the warm and attentive hospitality of the hosts and servers, The Leopard is a class dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyGood covid precautions
We had an excellent meal and the service was very good but many reviews say that so I'm going to concentrate on what is new which is to say covid precautions.
We had a very good meal and we felt quite safe. There are three places to eat with varying degrees of enclosure (warmth): There are tables on the sidewalk with heaters nearby. The street is quiet so we found this very pleasant but the heaters don't provide a great deal of heat so dress appropriately. There is a nice, enclosed section off the sidewalk probably warmer. I think it had adequate ventilation. Then they have tables inside. They are widely spaced and overall density seems good.
Absolutely superb
This institution does not need an introduction but another accolade can’t hurt. One of the most charming places with privacy and gorgeous lighting, dining al fresco at the Leopard could not feel any better and safer. The delicious food and fantastic swift service transforms your dining experience to the pre-covid times.
Try the branzino with steamed feathery spinach that alone deserves a Michelin star rating.
Can’t wait to indulge again!!!! See you soon.
