Excellent luxury hotel and ski in/out
A beautiful hotel right at the gondola on Ajax Mtn. The guys at the ski concierge were excellent as were a majority of the staff. The rooms were spacious and beautiful with free soft drinks and snacks restocked every day. They have free shuttles to all the other resorts on the half hour. Great holiday Our experience was that people go to Aspen to be seen and to see celebrities so the mountain was empty which suited me

I visited last December with my dad for an early season ski trip. We heard AMAZING things about the Little Nell from friends, so we were excited to book our stay here. It was our first time skiing Aspen (we usually ski in Deer Valley or Europe) so we wanted to try out both the Little Nell and Hotel Jerome as we heard those were the two best. We found it a bit underwhelming and disappointing, especially relative to our stay at Hotel Jerome. Service We heard that the service here was outstanding, we found it very cold and at times unprofessional. Our breakfast server was quite rude. The concierge was not the most helpful with making dinner reservations. Overall it was fine, but certainly no standout service except at the ski room! The ski room had excellent service and were very friendly. Room It felt very outdated and not cohesive. The barn sliding doors are quite bizarre. The balcony was small. The bed was very comfortable though which is critical after a day of skiing. Food Nothing memorable, but the food was fine. Breakfast was good each morning - there could be a few more options. Overall, by no means is the Little Nell a bad hotel. In our experience, it was not as special as we had heard, so we were quite disappointed with our stay and wouldnโt be our first choice to book again in Aspen. By contrast, we really loved Hotel Jerome and found the service to be much superior.

My kid and I stayed at the Little Nell in April and had a fabulous time. The location is unbeatable, with a short walk to almost everywhere in town and at the base of the mountain. I did not get to ski as Iโm a terrible skier and can only do greens, but anyone who can do blues and above will find it super convenient. The rooms are super spacious and ridiculously plush. Iโve never had such thick and soft carpet in any other hotel. All the linens were top grade, and loved that everything in the mini bar was complimentary (my son loved that part). Service was excellent without being overbearing. My son is already asking when we can come back.

The Little Nell was the perfect choice for a girlsโ trip for Christmas shopping. We loved being able to walk anywhere we needed to go, or be driven in one of their SUVs to dinner. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly, and the rooms beautiful. We loved sitting by the fire at night and turning on a Christmas movie for a cozy experience. We plan to bring our families back with us to visit this December!

This place is truly exceptional. Not so much because of the building per se (although everything is very nice). But the people make the difference. This staff - with any exception - are very skilled, super well trained and extremely professional while being also just humanly nice and caring. Best place in A.
Be the first to ReplyLittle Nell is the Absolute best Hotel to stay at in Aspen
You will never find more accommodating personal attention than you get at the little Nell. From being greeted by the charming bellmen who wish your belongings to your suite when you arrive to being handed a glass of fine champagne by Rob the front desk manager, you will feel like royalty. From the moment you arrive, they remember your name as well as your dog's! Their concierges are all excellent. Carol was one of my favorites. Their complimentary transportation was exceptional. Heidi was our favorite housekeeper as she delivered all of our special requests. Marlene and Ana were also great. Unfortunately the exceptional restaurant Element 47 wasn't open for dinner on Monday or Tuesday during our stay, but their breakfasts sure made up for that. Louis from Mexico City was beyond welcoming as well as accommodating with the great service by Sheila. Their coffee service was over the top with warmed creamers and robust coffee. The complimentary pistachio muffins were an unexpected treat from their phenomenal pastry chef. I asked for her original recipe for the outrageous home made dog bone treats only to find out it was a secret! No problem as we will be back soon. You must try the lemon soufflรฉ pancakes as well as all of the fresh ingredients in the made to order omelet surrounded by delicious sausage and perfect potatoes. Their flowers and amenities around the pool were top notch. The complementary treats and beverages in our suite made us feel like we were on a luxury cruise! We couldn't have had a lovelier vacation!
Be the first to Replyfabulous place, awesome service
the Little Nell is far and away the best place i have stayed in Aspen. Service is above and beyond, rooms are modern and lovely, food is delicious. everyone went WAY out of their way to make things right for us. We had a fantastic stay and would return in a flash if we have the chance.
Be the first to ReplyBest wine bar ever
Damon, Scholl, and Tyler were absolutely amazing! They made my whole experience at the Little Nell so great. Service was on point and the drinks were great. The music and lights of the wine bar were great as well.
Be the first to ReplyAlways par none
For Ski in Ski out, nothing compares to Little Nell. Just the Ski Valet service alone is worth the trip, but it included First Tracks, which got us up and on the freshly groomed cordorouy by 8:15. Then ski back, jump in jacuzzi, float in heated pool, and hit the tavern.
Be the first to ReplyLoud music! Zero peace! Stay away!
The worst! It's at the base of the mountain and the loud music from outside never stops! Loud music from the DJ at Ajax the in-house restaurant from 12 noon until 5:00pm, only to be picked up at 5:00 pm by a restaurant across from the gondola, all of which can be heard in our room until 10:30 at night. That's more than 10 hours with ZERO peace. The staff has no sympathy. We are here with 2 children in 2 mountain side connecting rooms. We were never informed at time of booking 10 months in advance that the noise would be present. Their solution is to move us to disconnecting rooms, so one adult and 1 child in each room rather than staying as a family, on the town view side on the 4th day of a 7 night stay. Stay away!

Best location for ski-in, ski-out with lockers next to the gondola. We had a large room facing the mountain. Not cheap, but worth every penny. Numerous fun restaurants and bars to choose from on the property. Friendly staff to assist you with every want and need. Free shuttles to and from the airport, around town and to Aspen Highlands. Close to shops and restaurants in the best part of Aspen.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location, somewhat spotty service
We just returned from an 8 day stay at the hotel. The location is amazing, at the bottom of Aspen mountain. Prior to our stay we reached out to the Concierge team who were super helpful in organizing dining bookings, ski rentals, lift passes, etc. They were all very responsive, professional and helpful. The ski concierge was also amazing in that they rang us when they received our gear and wanted to unpack it and have it at the ready prior to our arrival. The bar was high for the rest of the team. When we arrived we found an overly welcoming front desk team - this read a bit insincere and we felt like they were following a script or checklist. We went to the Living Room to have a bite to eat whilst our room was being readied and this is where the service fell off a cliff. The room was not crowded but it was buzzing. There were lots of staff around but they tended to chat to one another rather than helping guests. No water was offered, food was delivered with no plates, utensils or napkins. By the time we flagged down someone to ask for these things our food was cold. It was a stark contrast to the professionals we dealt with prior to our arrival. Service in Element 47 was very similar - especially for breakfast. Each day at around the same time we would head to breakfast and met the same ladies at the desk. Each day they would ask our name and room number - after seeing them each day one would think they would try to recognize guests but this was not to be. Service at breakfast was really bad, slow, coffee orders were missed, food was just average. The whole bit was rather a joke. We experienced the lack of service each day at both Element 47 and The Living Room and it really because laughable. We would get our own water, walk to the bar where the staff congregated to chat to order food, etc. There was also the issue with dogs. Many guests and visitors brought their dogs to the hotel, which is fine. There were small placards on the tables in the Living Room asking guests to not allow their pets on the furniture, but alas this rule was not followed or enforced. As highly allergic people this was a bit of an issue as the furniture was covered in dog hair. Staff was not asking guests to remove their pets from the furniture which makes the rule irrelevant and rather pointless. Additionally many staff were seen petting the dogs but then immediately serving food which is kind of gross. Staff was also coughing a lot on the restaurant floor and then immediately serving drinks and food - this is really unsanitary and inexcusable. Our room was very nice, housekeeping service was very good though they came around for turn down at about 5:30 pm which is way too early. Most other find hotels we frequent are keen to our dinner reservations and alert housekeeping to the hours when we will not be in our suite. This is a small touch that could be employed here. The ski Concierge team were amazing - friendly, speedy, helpful and efficient. Same at the front drive with the shuttles, car service etc. The anomaly of service centered around the Living Room and Element 47. There were a lot of managers walking about but they would also stop to chat with the staff resulting in really lackluster service.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect ski holiday.
The location of this hotel is the best in Aspen. Hands down. It is so decadent to stay at the bottom of Aspen Mountain and experience a ski holiday without any of the hassle of dealing with ski equipment. The reason for my 5 stars is solely due to the fantastic ski concierge. This is not only one of the best amenities at the hotel but these guys have it all dialed in. They remember everyone and Ray + his fabulous team are a reminder every year why we love the Nell. It is nice to see this department' familiar faces every year especially when the staff turnover at this hotel seems high. I'm not in love with the decor at this property - I wish the Jerome could switch places because they seemed to nail it. But it is worth it for the ski concierge and their sincerity and helpfulness - we really don't see ourselves ever staying somewhere else. Please don't ever leave Ray, Steven, Cameron, etc!!

My daughter & I went to the Little Nell during our stay in Aspen . It's an excellent location and known for its delicious hot chocolate. It's the best location in Aspen right next to the slopes. All of the staff is very nice . Beautiful place with great restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyThe Ultimate Aspen Experience
My family and I have been all over the world - beaches, amusement parks, cruises, etc. I was aprehensive about a cold-weather vacation, but wanted my kids (7 and 12) to try skiing. From beginning to end, The Little Nell made our experience seamless, enjoyable, and magical. The staff are all amazing, the recommendations were perfect, the food everywhere was outstanding, and the skiing was more fun than anything we have ever experienced! We just got home yesterday and I am booking our next trip there now. The hotel is gorgeous and quaint, right in the middle of town with everything at your fingertips. My kids (and I!) were crying when we had to leave - they never did that leaving Disney! If you're looking for a great family vacation led by the best hotel concierge service and amenities, look no further - this is it.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful hotel w/ terrible service
Nice hotel in a great location more than justifies their high prices, but the ridiculous 6% resort fee isn't warranted given the mediocre service and amenities. One of the perks of paying the 6% fee was complimentary airport transfers. Unfortunately, they showed up 30 minutes late and crammed four adults with bags and ski equipment into an Audi Q5. That meant my 20year old son had to hunch over with a snowboard bag resting across his shoulders. Very dangerous. Fortunately, we made it safely to the airport (with only minutes to spare because of their delay) but I can't image what would have happened if we were in an accident. Never heard from anyone at the hotel for the delay and the unsafe transport. Very disappointing.

I am compelled to give a review of our stay at The Little Nell in Aspen. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The property was beautiful and the staff truly superlative. Our room was terrific, we wanted for nothing. The meals were delicious and service was wonderful. The quality of EVERYTHING was beyond compare from the snacks to the liquor, the toiletriesโฆeverything was first class. Thank you Little Nell for making this wedding guest feel special. A luxurious and decadent experience.

What a great stay for Aspen Food & Wine Classic! The staff is here is amazing and the rooms are large and well appointed. Alyssa and the check in team were so helpful taking care of our family. Can not say enough great things about Joe and the Concierge team, too. They were so helpful and accommodating. The food is also delicious and we enjoyed lots of time by the pool. Another great perk is the transportation service...the team at the door shuttled us all over town! Can't wait to return!
Be the first to ReplyComing Home to The Little Nell
It has been around 30 years since we had visited Aspen. It certainly has changed...like most of the world. But one thing that has not changed, is that The Little Nell continues to set the diamond standard for hospitality, not just in Aspen, but worldwide. The Little Nell is able to produce a guest experience that couples an incredible intimacy of professional services with a very comfortable community and familiar setting...i.e. not at all pretentious. From the moment we arrived to the moment we said "good-bye"...our journey was one of contentment, surprises, and curiosity. Our room was beautifully appointed and extremely quiet. It was indeed a lovely sanctuary. The restaurant was delicious with a wide variety to choose from. And all of the other amenities at this property were 5+ stars. But what we enjoyed so much was the interaction with the team members. Each had a unique story to tell and did so, when asked, that added to the talented mosaic of why this property continues to excel and exceed all expectations over a sustained period of time. It creates a welcoming culture of comfort, community and graciousness that is not a "flash-in-the-pan" but is deeply ingrained into their overall service philosophy. I am blessed to travel the world for my work and stay at many lovely properties...but The Little Nell sets a standard seldom seen in today's chaotic and "look-at-me" world. They have achieved what so many of their competitors will never achieve. True class and a genuine level of service to the guest that is unparalleled in our new global environment. Thank you to The Little Nell team for your demonstration of what real service looks and feels like.

The Little Nell is one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed. The service and care at The Little Nell are truly unparalleled. The hotel is stunning, the rooms are beautiful, and the food is incredible. My husband and I recently renewed our vows at The Little Nell, and our experience was just phenomenal. All of the staff at The Little Nell created an extraordinary experience for us and our guests, from the moment we arrived, to our last moments there as we departed. We didn't want to leave, and we can't wait to visit again in the future.

Steve from valet was awesome and helped us when we arrived and departed. We loved Ari at the front desk - he was very welcoming, thoughtful, and hospitable. We mentioned that we really loved that there were fireplaces in the guest rooms - when we came back down to the lobby/living room after he told us to sit next to the fireplace and he had someone come start a fire for us during our drinks! Alejandro was great in the bar - he was attentive and gave us extra bread to finish all of our dip. Jose was very nice and came to fix a few things in our room - I asked him where the ice machine was and he immediately told me not to worry about it and someone showed up to the room with ice within minutes. Huge shoutout to Grace? working Saturday night who helped us ice and wrap my ankle after rolling it on the front drive. Monica was so sweet, gracious, and hospitable delivering our breakfast in the morning - everything was perfect and she brought me some more ice for my ankle on the way out.

Seriously the worst check in and guest service ever. They have an attitude the whole time and never went out of their way to help. Not to mention the uniforms and personal standards of the front desk helping were awful and not the Little Nell stares I loved coming to pre-Covid!

I just finished a 3-night stay at The Little Nell, and this was my second time staying at the hotel. In my opinion, the three best things about this hotel are the following: 1. Service 2. Location 3. Rooms - Spacious and well kept Details matter at The Little Nell and you can tell. If you are a skier who skis Aspen mountain you can't beat the location. At every turn the staff is there to assist your needs and they never drop the ball. Staff is professional, polite, reliable, and they anticipate your needs. The only thing that disappointed was I didn't love the room service food. For this level of hotel I expected it to be fantastic, and it was just ok. I actually thought the Viceroy and the St. Regis had slightly better room service food. Although you can't be the service and delivery of The Little Nell, much more reliable than the other two.
