Food was great and fresh. When I moved back here LH was the first place I visited! Nice weather dined outside and ordered from Raw Bar....fresh and tasty. However, after finally taking a chance and dining inside we waited a few minutes in the lobby until the doors opened! Can someone pull the carpeting out and freshen it up??!! Smelly urine...bathrooms off lobby need to be cleaned. So unappetizing

I didn't love it. It's very dark (wood paneling, wood ducks) and dated looking. I ordered chicken franchaise and it seemed like it was served on a grilled cheese sandwich. it was so dark it was hard to tell but that's what it tasted like to me. The vegetable choices were odd for the dinners, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, applesauce etc. They didn't seem to go with any of the meals. My friends all had seafood and they said it wasn't bad. They liked the bisque.

Very big and spacious restaurant with a very inviting full bar. Nice to have window seating. Pretty view of the water and dock. Still beautiful even if it was cloudy and rainy. We arrived at 4:30 sharp right when they opened and people were already in line. I wasn't aware that they also have a little market that sells fresh seafood. Started off with fried calamari (meh, although cooked nicely they lacked flavor or seasoning or something), oysters Rockefeller (A little on the salty side and I like salt) and clam chowder (Home run) My entrée was lump crab with wine and butter served with salad and baked potato (all delish) and a side of butternut squash (which was more like a dessert) Hubs had Port and starboard which consisted of a petite filet mignon and a half of a stuffed lobster. The fillet was more of a medium well than a medium, and the stuffed lobster tasted more of green peppers and stuffing then actual lobster. I didn't care too much for that. Also came with a potato and side salad and he opted for applesauce as a side. The service and ambience made up for the food faux pas. I would go back for soup and service. The servers looked so adorable in their little outfits. Very attentive staff. Food came out with lids to keep em hot. Wish I had room for dessert. Was so stuffed I just wanted to go back to hotel and nap. I would totally recommend this place as it is a staple of Cape May...the food is alright, better than any seafood in AZ. Reasonably priced. Get there early because it gets packed pretty fast.

This is well worth driving 2 miles out of historic Cape May for a seafood meal that is properly prepared & delicious. Our first time here (&first time dining out in 8 months). We will be back! The service from Cece was excellent. Meal was well paced. Everything was truly delicious, portions were generous (13 scallops!). Cape May scallops were perfectly prepared & in a delectable sauce. ($28.95). Blackened Redfish entree was 3 filets, well blackened but still tender. ($29.75). The restaurant is on the water with fishing boats right there. We had a window table with a view, The food is FRESH! There is a fish market adjoining. Prices are very reasonable. Entrees come with a loaf of warm bread topped with onion & poppy seed, choice of potato & vegetable. Salad is also included. The peanut butter pie in chocolate shortbread crust ($9.50) was delicious too but glad we shared! We left feeling very full but very satisfied & happy to have come here. They do not take reservations & at 6 p.m. on a Wednesday in mid -March we were seated right away but the restaurant filled up fast.

I've brought my mother to Cape May multiple times on warm late winter days several years to picnic at the lighthouse. I always bring rolls, plates etc. and stop at the seafood market at the Lobster House and pick up a pound of Lobster salad. Brought a friend along also this time. I was embarrassed to say the least. Unidentified ground up seafood (?) with maybe a few small pieces of lobster in one pound. Tasted like that fake crab. I planned to stop on my way home to pick up some snapper soup and clam chowder but decided to pass.

This place gets 5 stars for longevity and location (there's been a Lobster House Restaurant here since 1900; the views from the table out on the commercial fishing boats at water's edge are excellent), but 3 stars for the food. The homemade bread, homemade iced tea, the Combination Raw Seafood Appetizer (clams, oysters, shrimp) and the service were excellent! But the entrees, the Neptune Seafood Platter (fish, scallops, crab cake, baked stuffed clam and a shrimp) were meh, a throwback to pedestrian restaurant meals of the '50's: oldish seafood quick-baked, tasteless tartar sauce.

My husband and I stopped for lunch after using the Yelp app and seeing high ratings for the restaurant. The interior was unique and I had high hopes for the food. Our waitress was very personable. The lobster bisque was served first and it was cold. The waitress took it back to the kitchen and brought it back to the table hot. My stuffed flounder platter came out cold and she did not offer to take it back to the kitchen. The flounder was soggy and the crab filling was tasteless. My zucchini was also served cold. My husband's seafood platter was not impressive. The crab cakes were mushy with a lot of filler. The only thing was was served hot was the baked potato. I would not recommend The Lobster House and will not go back. The bill was not adjusted since our food was served cold.

The food was great! The service was better. The server messed up my wife's order and gave her chicken, instead of fish, but my wife didn't mind. The bar is usually opened up at 4:00pm so you can go in and have a drink and relax by the fireplace before your meal. Now, it opens up closer to 5 for everything! And it DOES NOT cater to the locals especially during COVID! I am a local and when everything went to reopen it did not! Not even the fish market for the locals to come and buy fresh fish! Very disappointing!

When we checked in at the Lobster House we were told there would be a 90 minute wait for a table. It was Saturday night at 6:30. They don’t take reservations. So we got drinks at the bar and fortunately a few minutes later a couple vacated their seats at the bar and we sat down. We ordered dinner and enjoyed linguine with shrimp, lobster tail and scallops. So fresh and delicious.

We had a wonderful experience at the Lobster House! We ordered 4 different meals, and they were all delicious. It was especially nice to look out over the water. It is crowded, and they don’t take reservations, but the wait was worth it for us. The service was great! I’d recommend this restaurant, and I’ll be back.

It has great atmosphere and the staff is friendly. The salmon lunch special yesterday was hot and delicious, smothered in a buttery sauce with tomato and mushrooms. A nice variety of sides to choose from. I usually try to just eat half and bring the other half home for dinner, but , I ate every mouthful it was that good. My only problem and this may not bother everyone is the hostess without a mask. Go and enjoy.

I felt like there was way too much bread for the lobsters. Maybe another type of bread would have made the lobster stand out more. Also, I felt like the lobster was just bland and not that flavorful. Just an okay lobster roll.

Great if you can get in. Always crowed. Food is good and prices are too. Great Atmosphere with window seats looking onto the harbor with boats going by. They offer a lobster for a price that's affordable, and it's good. their bread is to die for and they give to enough butter to have clogged arteries. They should have bigger dinner glasses. They ware out their wait staff refilling those tiny little glasses. We like the place. The problem is getting a table since they don't take reservations. It's over an hour wait most times.

Visited on NewYear’s day, on an impulse visit. Our server, Emily, was very attentive and the mussels were EXCEPTIONAL. The garlic white sauce went down well with their delicious bread. My partner and I both had the the Fisherman’s Wharf Platter - a selection of fish, crab cake, scallops, shrimp and a spicy clam casino. DELICIOUS. Highly recommend.

Everyone I asked who visited Cape May suggested to eat here. I was happy to encounter some locals who eat here frequently - always a good sign.

We came for dinner on a Friday night. There are no reservations accepted, so you get here for when dinner starts (4:30) and seating is first come first serve. By the time we finished eating, the wait was an hour. Fortunately there is a lot of seating available, so do not panic if there is a line when dinner begins.

The menu is extensive. I started with the snapper soup, which comes in a crock and a shot of sherry, if you want to add it - I recommend adding it. I had Mako for the first time and tried it char broiled with two sides of vegetables. Save room for desert - I tried their peanut butter pie.

Because there are so many options for seafood and meat, it should be easy to find options regardless of any dietary restrictions you might have.

Best Answer It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Best Answer Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
