Great boutique hotel
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lowell Hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We were welcomed on our arrival with a special drink. Our room was lovely and the dining was delicious. Great location for shopping and restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic New York Hotel
Recently, we spent a few days at the Lowell with our older grandchildren. If this review had six stars, I would check all six. The staff was extraordinarily accommodating, prompt, neat, and efficient. We had an issue with our departing flight, and they said, "Stay in the room as long as you need to." No effort was made to make us store our luggage with the bellman. It is important to note that it is a boutique hotel and not a major glitzy spot. We have stayed at the Lowell a few times and have been lucky enough to see someone very famous during each stay. It must be the right spot! The Pembroke Room where breakfast is served is elegant, and the food is outstanding. Dinner at Majorelle was very good, although very expensive. If you enjoy well-located, small, quiet hotels, this location, a block and a half from Central Park, is perfect for you.

Absolutely FABULOUS! The hotel is warm, welcoming and comfortable. Such a nice respite to return to after long days walking around in the city. Staff goes out of their way to be kind, accommodating and make you feel like family.

Tucked away in Upper Manhattan, amidst the brownstones on E. 63rd streets, is the Lowell Hotel. It's a hop-skip-and-jump from the fashion houses of Madison Avenue, a few steps from 5th Avenue, Central Park and NYC's most notable museums. I appreciated my spacious, luxuriously designed Lowell room with oak floors, fresh flowers and decor in pale blue and neutral colours. It emanated a residential feel with custom headboards, antique oriental rugs, unique furniture and desk. The massive marbleized bath featured a separate tub and shower. The Lowell has a fleet of dining options. The Majorelle is a Mediterranean inspired eatery couched in a Chateau-like dining room with a petite skylit garden. The menu displayed exciting food fare like Sea scallops with parsnips to Loin of Venison. I selected Snails (in puff pastry), Rack of lamb and a dessert of Chocolate Mousse......a delicious ensemble. Jacques Bar serves light fare and inventive cocktails while the Club Room, a quaint facility, is open to hotel guests only during the day hours serving off a small menu. The Pembroke Room serves a traditional breakfast for guests only. Service is supreme here.......catering to every guest's whim. A spacious in-house fitness centre allowed me to follow my exercise regime on the road. So, if you would like over-the-top accommodations, top-notch dining and a near perfect attraction location.....then try the ........Lowell.........An Elegant Jewel Box.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful New York Hotel
The Lowell is as close as we will ever come to having a New York townhome. The doorman greets us by name. The Concierge and Front Desk staff welcome us back as if we are old friends. The attention to detail is amazing - beautiful rooms and impeccable housekeeping. We enjoyed dining in Majorelle and cocktails at Jacques Bar. The service in both was excellent. We canโt imagine staying anywhere else in NYC - The Lowell is just perfect.

We had a lovely, peaceful weekend at this elegant hotel. If you have the opportunity, choose the Lowell. The staff is attentive yet understated. The hotel is beautifully appointed and will not disappoint.

A lovely hotel and out of the way find. Had everything we needed and felt more private than Peninsula or St. Regis. The feature restaurant, Majorelle, is just fabulous and is not to be missed. Staff was gracious and welcoming. Suites are a little pricy but worth the extra fare. Easy walk to great shopping and dining.

If youโre looking for the ultimate boutique hotel that provides exceptional service, looks no further. Everything from the beautiful design to the shampoo and conditioner to even the ice cubes was nothing short of amazing. We will definitely be back!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to stay canโt wait to get back
Everyone at the Lowell is kind, friendly, and easy to work with. I like the ambiance so much, in a big city Itโs a nice retreat. The bar is pretty cool too, but front desk is the best! We will be back
Be the first to ReplyGreat location but air ducts need service
For the first two nights we got cold air from ducts even thought thermostat was set a 78. We complained twice- before we departed that night and upon arrival. We were told engineer fixed it. Same thing happened two more nights. We gave up. Complained twice again. Still nothing. Thermostat set to 78 to get 70 degrees in room

Always a friendly, courteous and professional staff. Pembroke room is beautiful place to have breakfast. Jaques Bar is an excellent place to eat and drink. The upper east side location is one of the best!
Be the first to ReplyRomantic sejour at The Lowell
The Lowell is an amazing place to stay in NY. We spent few days there and enjoyed the facilities including a dinner at Majorelle. The courtesy of the team at the reception desk and bell man have been very much appreciated on top of reservation team for their efficiency.

Loved every part of my stay. Breakfast was great, and Anthony was fantastic and sufficiently gentle for first human contact of the day. Reception was so on the ball. I felt like a truly valued guest. I will look forward to returning to my oasis of civility in Manhattan.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful stay
We spent 4 nights in a Deluxe Junior Suite at the Lowell. The room was "as advertised", with wood floors and a small terrace. It is in a great location on E. 63rd just a couple of blocks from Central Park. The staff was very good and friendly, and unlike some other recent trips, the housekeeping was done daily. The room also has a small kitchen with a refrigerator and hotplate which came in very handy for leftovers! Only complaint was that the room did not come with a coffee maker! We requested a Nespresso machine (which they have on request), but they said they were out and would send up a percolator. It never came. So we requested a Nespresso machine the next day and it was delivered (but it didn't work, so they sent another). The room also included breakfast which was very good.

We loved our stay there and they made you feel very special indeed. Service was par excellence. Room was lovely and totally quiet, amazing considering it was in New York City. Bed was wonderful. Bathroom was beautiful. Great bed and quiet in the room made for great sleeping.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Weekend!
The Lowell Hotel is the ultimate boutique hotel. From the second we arrived to the moment we were ready to depart the service was top notch. Every employee we encountered treated us as we were the most important guests in the hotel. At check-in we received an upgrade to the one bedroom suite on the 16th floor which included a full kitchenette with fridge, fireplace, large marble bathroom with soaking tub and walk in shower, amazing views of the neighborhood, and king size bed with two closets in the bedroom. As other travelers have said, it was literally NYC apartment living. Location is perfect to walk to midtown attractions, Central Park, and art museums. We did not get an opportunity to have dinner at Majorelle, but enjoyed breakfast each morning which was included with our reservations. Overall it was an amazing weekend and the key to a great vacation is where you stay, what experiences you take in, and where you eat. The Lowell has the where you stay part, down to perfection.
Be the first to ReplyI will never return to your hotel
After seeing the advertised price online for the one bedroom sweet I called and booked the room for two nights. Over the phone the front desk took a deposit for the room. Once I arrived to check in, the hotel took the deposit again. My bank was worried about the activity and I should have listened to my bank. The hotel, upon check out lied to me and served me a bill for a Deluxe sweet, which I didnโt stay in. I was on the 7th floor and the hotel only offers the Deluxe sweets on the 5th and 9th floors. I asked the hotel to change the bill but they refused and charged my card even though I pleaded with them that it was a mistake. They are crooks
Be the first to ReplyItโs not for everyone
The Lowell is not for everyone โ only for those with impeccable taste, who appreciate perfection, and a tranquil home away from home. Many rooms only face the ally, as did ours, but it somehow didnโt bother us at all. The coziness of the room and the beauty of the hotel and restaurants more than made up for it. There are other great hotels in NYC, but this is the jewel in the crown
Be the first to ReplyOverrated and Overpriced
A nice hotel for those who want tu feel like theyโre living in a slightly shabby, run down Upper East Side apartment, but below par as a proper updated hotel. The bar and restaurants and reception areas are lovely, but as for the rest.. $1500 for a small suite with views on an air vent, outdated plumbing, few outlets for charging in unreachable places, and room service only for breakfast. After that you can order takeout from the limited Majorelle takeout menu. Never seen that before in a hotel of this standing. And the clincher: 71 bucks for 2 boiled eggs, a juice and an espresso! WOW! For the Aspirational.

Itโs the best hotel in town. Great staff. Stay makes you feel outstanding. Location top in the city. Beutiful bar and restaurant and a private living room type. Not much mor to say when you go and only experience the best.

Just spent the most enjoyable four nights in NYC ever, at the Lowell. Everything was perfect, the room, service, food, the bar, everything. Perfectly situated too on the Upper East Side between Park & Madison Aves. Would highly recommend

Be the first to ReplyAnniversary celebration
My wife and I have wanted to stay at the Lowell for years. We finally splurged and went this March to celebrate our anniversary. I can offer no suggestion for improvement; honestly, it was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had over many years of travel around the world: as near to perfection as is possible.

An oasis of elegance and refinement in the Upper Eastside. Friendly and impeccable service from arrival to departure. Small and club-like with a heart of gold. Professional and discreet staff and facilities make it difficult to leave. A peaceful haven.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible Upper East Side Hotel!
This was our third visit to the Lowell in the past twelve months, and it was like coming home. We were welcomed as if we were family! Eric, Emelie, and Louis at reception greeted us and made us feel they were truly happy to have us staying with them again. Each staff member we met, from doormen, to bellmen, to housekeeping, went out of their way to make our stay memorable and enjoyable.
We had a lovely junior suite on the 9th floor - spacious and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed cocktails and a light dinner in Jacques Bar - taken care of by Hassan, the most charming host.
Altogether, a wonderful stay - just too short. Can't wait to visit again soon.
