Let's see where to start.
. glasses at the table were dirty the server did not give that service you would expect at this caliber of a restaurant. I was bumped into by countless customers and staff due to the area they sat us in. When I ordered my food I wanted to pair it with a lobster but was told there was no lobster available. This should have been expressed when the server went over the specials for the night also there was lobster to make the lobster ravioli and as well for the seafood towers, but none for a Saturday night. The steak we ordered one was over cooked from the temp that was asked for, the other was under cooked and cold in the center. At the end of the day I'm hoping this was not The Palms Miami best day, but for me I will not revisit I'll rather head to Orlando and eat at The Palms in the hard rock hotel in which I had countless great experiences.

So, have you ever been faced with arrogant, misogynistic management in a restaurant? Well, if you have not, head to the Palm. We all know it is overpriced. We all know it is not what it used to be. We all know we can have a better steak dinner at a variety of restaurants in Miami. We all know how petty charges can push you over the edge. Well, Christmas eve dinner at the Palm most certainly was all that and more. 6 people. Cocktails. Steaks. Sides. More than 125 per person. When questioning the charge for a small half filled ramekin with additional chimichurri sauce for the flavorless steaks, which totaled $8. we were referrred to the menu for this hidden charge. Management would NOT extend a courtesy and remove this from our check. Despite repeated attempts to discuss the failure to disclose by waitstaff when ordered. So, The Palm, I hope that $8 makes your yearly numbers soar. Our table will not be back, over this most petty amount. I do hope others heed this warning and eat elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyThe service was terrible.
Twice. I've been to many different locations of this restaurant. The food was fine but the bartender and host were far more than lack luster.I was staying at a hotel across the street with no restaurant and will never visit that palm again.

Always a pleasure to go to The Palm! This time my son got the tomahawk steak with creamed spinach and hash browns. I got the Gigi salad and had a bite of the steak and side dishes. I love going to The Palm because the quality is fantastic and consistent.

Alas one of my favorite Miami Steakhouses has hit rock bottom. Still great people at the front, Bobby at the bar tremendous service, but times have changed. 10% occupancy on a Thursday night for a meeting with an old friend. Quick drinks at the bar before we hit the table. Don't know what to say but the place has become tired and old. Bread on the table was simply terrible, gone are the great onion rolls and crisp french bread. Prices have gone through the roof and FOOD well we will get to that. Ordering the "OLD WEDGE" which is simply lettuce a tomato. and their homemade blue cheese dressing. Dressing still fantastic but how can the lettuce and tomato be warm? Totally unacceptable. $69.00 for a NY Strip which used to be "CHARRED TO PERFECTION" is now salted and flash grilled leaving a superior piece of meat inedible. The side of mushrooms and onions were the most tasteless mess of whatever in many years. The $69.00 Veal Chop Parm was OK but the sauce was tasteless to nonexistent. Didn't even bother with coffee or deserts. As I walked out saying goodbye to Bobby at the bar, I knew this was my last time here, if they even survive much longer. So disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyWent to The Palm last night for dinner last night.
My first time in Miami and I was craving steak. It was AMAZING!!!!!! The best steak I EVER HAD!!!!! The creamed spinach and mashed potatoes were really good too!!! I would definitely come back here. Service was excellent too! Everyone was really nice and super attentive. If you're looking for a fancy, casual restaurant with amazing steak definitely come here!!!! You will NOT be DISAPPOINTED!!!!!

For 15,000 Palm points (803 club ??? ) you too can occupy the classic cartoonish depictions (which originated in NYC) of local celebs is but one quirky aspect of The Palm's Bay Harbor steakhouse. Old school steak house w the wedge & the famous 4 lb lobster, what can I add that is more in line w the operation. Depending on your habits, this steakhouse can really seem family-owned & operated. It is run that efficiently. Birthdays, celebrations, the special meal you crave is what The Palm has maintained for over 25 years. And, it really shines. Bay Harbor has been home to The Palm since 1983, the 3rd ??? restaurant in the franchise ...

The ambiance is great... very New York feeling...
Be the first to ReplyThis is an expensive steakhouse, and I really wouldn't
This is an expensive steakhouse, and I really wouldn't recommend coming here unless you really want a nice expensive steak (or great dessert). We came here for dinner with a small group, and we were able to get a reservation easily, which was very nice. Once at the table though, you were watched like a hawk, and several staff were always hovering a foot or two away from our table. Some people like that level of attentiveness, but we found it somewhat off-putting that you couldn't even look around at the decor without someone asking you what you wanted or being escorted to the restroom. The food was decent, but very expensive - a small sea bass filet was about $50. We ordered salads to start - I should've gotten the wedge, as the Caesar was very nondescript and the croutons were too big to eat. The fish was very delicious, but had a small portion, and they wouldn't substitute out the vegetables. Also, we ordered French fries for the table, but our waiters took them away before we were finished, even though we were still actively eating them. We had to hold onto our dessert plates once we got them to keep them from taking them away early! The dessert was the best part of the meal - the cheesecake and the key lime pie were both fabulous. And as mentioned, one person got a steak, which was perfectly cooked. They also seemed to have quite a bit of trouble splitting the bill - we wanted two checks, but it took a lot of back and forth to get it split.Overall, the food isn't bad, but it's more expensive than it's worth, and be sure to hang onto your plate if you're still eating!

The Palm - a stalwart in my life of eating - was my Father's favorite restaurant so we went to honor him on his Birthday yesterday. I was a little hesitant because of the sale to Landry's in 2020. Also, had never been to the one in North Miami so we gave it a whirl.Four to our party. Rez made and arrived to super friendly valet parking and greeted by the manager, Eric. Super accommodating with our preference of seating and sat us immediately (it's a smaller Palm than I'm used to and I loved the ambiance & coziness).Mariaj was our main host and shared the specials and her favorites on the menu. Menu has changed with a nice collection of Palm faves, more salads, seafood towers, the usual huge lobster (4lbs avail that night) plus interesting cuts like the Tomahawk, bone in filet and Lamb chops (which were amazing and pictured below). We started with the Calamari app and shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were the size of my palm (hahaha). Calamari was tasty and cooked to perfection lightly dusted with flour with added cherry peppers and grilled lemon. Their wonderful breadbasket has assorted bread sticks, pumpernickel raisin and Italian breads.Katerina was one of Mariah's helpers and she made sure that we had anything we wanted and did it with such a nice smile and way about her.Let's talk main course:My Mother had the 4lb lobster broiled with EVOO and garlic and it was sweet and tender. Beautiful presentation. Mom likes to crack her own although bussers are available to crack at table side!Husband went for the NY Strip with a side of those amazing mushrooms. Honestly, they were so good I was eating them as a side! Strip was cooked to perfection as mid-rare and he was very happy with the beef quality.Daughter (age 20) decided on the Rib eye and she said it was so tender and cooked correct to temp. Her side was a lobster risotto and well there was none left so there is that!!Like I mentioned earlier I had the lamb that is sourced from Colorado and I felt like I was in Breckinridge that's how high the quality of the meat was. My side of asparagus was done aglio y olio and grilled just the way I like it - firm and flavorful! We decided on key lime pie and chocolate cake for dessert. My mom stated she liked this key lime pie BETTER than Joe's I was shocked! Daughter said one of the best chocolate layer cake she had had in a long time! The place started to hop as it got to 7 although it felt like we were eating at a family restaurant because of all the friendly staff and patrons! There is a bar to sit at as well as private dining options.Had the opportunity to meet the GM Peter and he was super down to earth and seemed genuinely interested on my feedback and his employees.4 of us and the bill was about $800. We were feeling self indulgent yesterday! The food was spectacular - they take Rez on Open Table.9650 E. Be the first to ReplyI have always loved the palm.
It has been my favorite restaurant since I can remember. I haven't been in about 3 years so when I came back to Miami I made sure to stop by and boy do I regret it. This was the worst dining experience I've ever had here. Starting with the bread. It was all stale. Every single piece. When we explained that it was all stale the lady didn't even understand English and then just brought us a bread breakfast full of brown bread. We then ordered the tuna poke which had raisins, cashews, tuna and olives? Seemed like they had a bunch of random stuff in the kitchen and needed to complete a dish. Terrible combination of random stuff along with some extra stale crackers. By the time the steak came, it was cold. It wasn't cooked medium as asked for but it had been such a bad dinner already we didn't want to wait for it to be cooked again and brought back out so we proceeded to eat our well done steak. The icing on the cake was the carrot cake. If I'm being honest this is 100% the real reason why the Palm has always been my favorite. BUT, the one thing i thought they couldn't mess up because they don't make it in house, is the carrot cake. They managed to apparently start buying it elsewhere and it absolutely doesn't compare to how the cake used to be. It was mediocre at best. Overall, this was such a bad experience that I don't even think I'll ever come back to the palm again. Super disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyConsistent meal and table service.
Nice wine selection. Always inviting atmoaphere.
Be the first to ReplyI went there for Nova Scotia Lobster as I had a real yen
I went there for Nova Scotia Lobster as I had a real yen for live lobster. I ordered a 4 pounder, but I was very disappointed in both the quality of the lobster and the way it was cooked. The smaller sections of the claws were fairly tender, but the main body meat was very "chewy", and I just left most of it...although I should have brought it home for my outdoor cat "Callahan". The actual claws were very large, but mainly a fatty substance that did not have the consistency of the meat in the smaller claw sections. My side of hash browns were great, and my Oysters Rockefeller were just okay...nothing special. Perhaps I would have been better off ordering a steak, as my accompanying restaurant guest had ordered a Filet Mignon, which he described as being very good center cut.My past visits were always meeting up to my expectations. Perhaps my next visit will be more pleasing.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is absolutely incredible.
I am normally not much of a steakhouse person but I was invited to this restaurant and I absolutely loved it. I went on a Friday night. We had reservations for 8 pm. When we walked in the restaurant was dimly light and you can tell that it has a family feel because of all the decorations on the wall. There are family photos as well as little cartoons on the wall. When we got there we were seated right away. The waiter recommended that we try the chips instead of the bread and we agreed right away. It was amazing because we ate the chips with the creamed spinach and it was so good. We also ordered the calamari as an appetizer both were delicious. We also shared the lobster bisque and the wedge. The bisque was amazing. It was served table side. At the bottom of the dish it had the fresh shredded lobster. They are not stingy with it either I had a bite of lobster on every single sip. Then we went for the main course. I ordered the chicken parmesan. It was amazing. I absolutely loved it. The presentation was awesome with fresh melted cheese on top, it had the perfect amount of sauce on it so that every single bite had sauce. The chicken was breaded perfectly and it was served nice and warm. I also had a taste of the filet, it was cooked to perfection and the sauces that it came with were amazing. For dessert we had the donut holes. They came with a raspberry sauce that gave it a sweet yet savory touch. I was full for almost two days after this meal, as you can tell we ate a lot but I would come back. The service was incredible and so was the food.
Be the first to ReplyWe went to the Palm in Miami and they had an off night.
Wedge salad was not the typical wedge so no quality control coming out of the kitchen. The lobster bisque was served lukewarm. The 4 lb lobster came out of the kitchen and we not cooked on one side and dried out on the other. The roe on one side was black and not cooked. In addition, one of the drinks we ordered from the bar was not mixed properly. Service was good but not special. I'm not running back here even though I am a loyal customer of the Palm in NYC.
Be the first to ReplyIt's hard to give a 1 Star review after being a loyal
It's hard to give a 1 Star review after being a loyal customer of Palm restaurants across the country for decades, but that is what the last visit to this restaurant represented. Here's the deal:1. Baked clams were totally dried out and burnt on the top due to being left in the broiler too long. Clams did not taste right and were kind of funky. This is one of my favorite Palm dishes so I was sad to send them back. Then, on the check they show a note that said something like "customer did not like the taste". How classless and annoying to print that on the bill. I have eaten these for years at various locations and even make them better myself at home using the Palm cookbook. It should have said "the kitchen had no clue how to prepare and cook this dish correctly." Better yet, should have had class and just taken it completely off the bill.2. Chicken Parmesan could have been great, but the chef turned it into charcoal leaving it in the broiler too long badly burning parts of the top. It was quite outrageous to serve a second burnt dish after I just sent back a previous burnt dish. I just gave up and ate around the burnt parts.3. Some wait staff are not well trained. I asked if they still served bread before the meal and they said no. Then I got a basket of bread but missing the typical Palm bread sticks package other tables did get. Some of the servers seem oblivious to the Palm heritage and traditions and could just as easily be working in a Denny's, with their disposition. Again, I just gave up. 4. They do not serve the traditional pickled vegetables that I have been used to at Palm restaurants. They didn't even know what I was talking about when I asked about it.5. Restrooms are very small which is understandable because the building seems old, but it is also not air conditioned and uncomfortably hot in the restroom. I wouldn't care about this if the rest of the food and service was on point, but unfortunately it wasn't close. The salad, water refill, and a really nice guy managing/working the bar, and the convenient Miami Beach location were the only highlights. I was carrying in and out a big bag I had to tend to, and the valet parking attendant didn't even try to help me navigate the stairs with it or help me get it in and out of the car.The Palm is a historical brand and amazing tradition for this country. It is really sad to see this restaurant dressing up to look the part, and sadly failing to deliver on so many levels. I hope someone with the passion and ability to improve this restaurant reads this, so they can somehow rise from the ashes they currently find themselves in, because inattentive staff in the kitchen thinks they have to incinerate what they put under the brolier. If it was even at average Palm standards,I would have already returned 2 or 3 times since this last meal. Now I have a bad taste in my mouth so to say and need a long break. They lost easy revenue.
Be the first to ReplyI forgot how good this place was.
I had a delicious margarita, shrimp cocktail and the best steak in years. The filet was Perfectly cook, the creamed spinach was seasoned to perfection. My friends NY strip was perfect temperature. I stopped ordering NY strip many years ago and always order fillet to be on the save side. Congratulations Chef!!!Beautiful NY Cheesecake with salted Caramel. It is a hidden gem. It is one of my favorite traditions in Miami.

I am amending my one star review as someone apparently paid heed to my rant and removed the happy hour menu from the website for this location, so at least others won't be disappointed as I . Perhaps I will try again someday.
Be the first to ReplyThis was our first time here (and in Miami).
We sat at the bar where it was obvious this was a restaurant where a lot of local regulars come. Got to chat with some locals which was fun! We had the chicken Parmesan.... It was fabulous! The only thing that made this a 4 instead of 5 star was the bar service was slow.
Be the first to ReplyLast time I ate here I ordered crab cakes and they were
Last time I ate here I ordered crab cakes and they were made of all large pieces of lump crab meat and even though it was $40 for 2 crab cakes they were excellent and I was happy to pay for the quality. This time it was mostly shredded crab and it still tasted good but not as good as the all lump crab.Last time the creamed spinach was rich and thick with heavy cream, slight nutmeg flavor and you could taste the Parmigiano Reggiano and was addictive. This time it was not as thick and rich and bit runny. I did not taste nutmeg or Reggiano and it was ok but not exceptional like last time. I also ordered Brussel sprouts and they were well charred, cooked all the way through, seasoned well and generally very good. I was in the business so I know it is very difficult to keep quality consistent and there is a big difference between good and excellent. If this is just an off night for the items I ordered I understand. I just hope it was not because someone in corporate decided to trim some fat and downgraded the ingredients. If 3 1/2 stars was an option that is what I would have chosen.
Be the first to ReplyThe meatball appetizer was good as well as the wine
The meatball appetizer was good as well as the wine selection which is why I give 2 stars. The sea bass was WAY too salty. Au gratin potatoes were cubes and not potatoes slices. So bad I sent them back. Tried to order a steak but they messed it up so decided it was better to not waste money on anymore bad food. Lots of good restaurants in the area. I would pass. Also just got my bill and $10 for aquapana water? What a joke! I wasn't even asked if that's what I wanted. Moving to 1 star. Will be ordering room service at the hotel
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant is good and delivers! It is very well
This restaurant is good and delivers! It is very well located near bal harbour... valet parking is a must..This place is nice and today missed some ambiance.... Being a Thursday, thought it was going to be packed and it was not.. food was on the good side but nothing to write home about.Salads were average, the tomatoes with mozzarella were ok, the cesar salad was a not h below average and the chopped salad was , well, awful!I had the veal chop that was good hence my 4/5! Also contributing was service... we had Maria and she was impeccable!! Thanks Maria!!The mashed potatoes I had to return as they had an acid aftertaste and was substituted with an "au gratin" that was good and for the short time needed some "gratin", but again Maria delivered! The Brussels sprouts were on the good side!!Bread, well, they can improve this too....Corkage was on the good side even though I would have expected better glassware...All in all this place is good, but sorry not the greatness that used to characterize it!! Cheers

The Palm has a great steakhouse atmosphere supported with a mostly attentive waitstaff. We enjoyed the wine list and selection which had a range of great bottles with a more modest markup. From there the main steak courses were fair - I had the bone in filet which was an above average steak. The stars of the meal were the sides - truffle gnocchi and hash brown. If you are in need of reservations it isn't a bad stop but in a town like Miami you can find something more exciting.

A regular to this establishment weekly however will no longer return due to their general manager mike Myers who is a racist. He discriminated towards certain people. He isn't consistent with his restaurant policies and is extremely rude. He doesn't care about his regulars and doesn't know how to conduct himself as a professional. He is very insulting and should be fired from this establishment. I will be contacting corporate in regards to his unacceptable behavior.
