Drinks: never had food here but the drinks are nice.
Big cocktail menu with a lot of different options. Only one non-alcoholic cocktail option: a gin. This is the main letdown of this place so make sure that you are drinking alcohol. Service: service is good. They are attentive and are happy making something special for you. Ambiance: this is highlight of this place. The interior showcases book cases on the boundary and interestingly lit alcohol bottles in middle. I recommend this place to impress out of towners, particularly if you are early for reservations to Bo Peep.

5This place is so cute. So so cute. Based on the location, I can't tell if it's locals or tourists but the vibe is just right for Herald Square. It will 1000% be my go to spot if I'm in the area again. That said, 4.5 because the Old Fashioned was weeakkk. And it's a "whiskey bar". Nah. The lamb samosas were verrry good. But the tartare was weird. I didn't care for the shrimp chips & wasn't necessary. The toast was alright.I will definitely come back maybe for a date & to try other items / drinks on the menu.

Could not have asked for a better place to celebrate my birthday with my family. The service was fantastic and the food and drinks were amazing. I definitely will be back and I highly recommend The Parlour Room.

I can't even explain how cozy the atmosphere was in the Parlour Room. It was a unique library feel and since we went around Christmas time it was the perfect spot to warm up in comfortable big cushioned library seats and funky booths. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was great. I can't wait to go back!

Wow. Just wow. What an awesome place that you can't pass up. I've walked by here a lot, but never thought to venture in. The bar is amazing. Cozy and classy and something you wouldn't expect in this area. We had the private room upstairs, which was incredible. Our own server, who was very attentive and amazing. The food was also incredible. Well aware how weird this will sound - - but the chairs were so comfortable! When do you sit down for dinner and the chairs are comfortable?! The best part about the private room was that there was a curtain to close you off from the rest of the restaurant. So you felt like you were in your own little luxurious space. Very highly recommended for 1) cocktails at the bar downstairs or 2) a private and classy dinner for ~15 or so people

We had tickets to see Nas at MSG and wanted dinner prior to the concert but definitely didn't want fast food so we decided to make reservations here after reading the great reviews .Ok so here we go...walking inside felt like prohibition mixed with a little speak easy and a dash of sexiness! The ambiance is GORGEOUS! After settling in on the velvet seating it was time to look over the menu. I wanted everything! We decided on the crab wontons as starters however I didn't get a picture because they were devoured immediately! Yes they were that good....lots of crab meat inside and not the fake stuff with a crispy flaky finish. For entrees we ordered the following:The Parlour Wagyu beef burger with side of friesCrispy skin Salmon with Risotto Lobster Mac & CheeseSkirt Steak with duck fat potatoes All were very tasty!!!! The duck fat potatoes are a huge portion to accompany a steak so I felt like it was overkill. The service was a little slow but very friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. Will go back!

Happened to be in the neighborhood so came back again on a whim. Absolutely loved the Catcher in the Rye cocktail. The smoked salmon mousse toast was also delicious. Service was very warm and professional. Really glad that I returned!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent decor with lots of space.
Only ordered drinks and all of them were decent, but nothing really stood out. Lots of whiskeys and you can make your own drink with a selected whiskey. Pricey though.
Be the first to ReplyHuge space with all types of seatings.
Great for group. Same owner with Bo-Peep next door.

Been to the sister property but Parlour Room is fantastic! Great service and staff and the vibe and decor can't be beat. Location is perfect and central. Can't wait to go back. My go to spot for the moment.

I have been to almost every cocktail bar and restaurant in NYC, and this was one of the worst I have been to. I do not recommend. Usually NYC has such amazing spots, but this was shockingly bad. The drinks were syrupy and made with cheap alcohol, the food was average at best, and the couch smelled like period blood! The hostess then proceeded to yell at me and my friend for asking to move seats. When I pointed out that the couch smelled like period blood, she started yelling at us and threatened to kick us out for complaining. It was truly a shockingly bad experience. If you want a bar with similar aesthetics but better drinks/service, go to Dear Irving Gramercy, Raines Law Room, The Up & Up, Beauty & Essex, Le Grenouille, or RH. Hope they clean the couch soon!

We ordered roast chicken (nice roasted skin cooked to perfection) broccolini, Brussel sprouts and Tuna Tartare, all delicious. The servers were great-attentive and friendly. Extensive collection of whiskeys, our server shared a few stories about the labels they served, very interesting. Great place to stop!
Be the first to ReplySuch a great set up.
You walk into a different realm. The drinks are very well crafted. The food is good. Oysters are ok. The beef tartare was also very good. However the pie in a cup dessert isn't as good as it looks.

Came on a Friday night and the place was packed! My friend and I already grabbed dinner somewhere else so we only got drinks but the people next to us got the lobster mac and cheese and it smelled so good. Will definitely try the dinner menu next time! For drinks, we tried Catcher in the rye, Dorian's temptation, sazerac, manhattan, and the raven. Dorian's temptation was the lightest with citrusy notes. The raven was really cool because they fill the glass with smoke and cover it so you can lift it yourself to allow the smoke to come out. All in all, I would definitely be coming back here. The bartenders are really great at making the drinks and I feel like you can't really go wrong with any of them.

My friend and I stumbled upon this place after grabbing dinner in K Town. ย We had cocktails only but the dinner menu also looked delicious. ย They have an extensive whisky list. ย Friendly bartender, cocktails were really good. ย Good scene to meet people in the bar. ย Space is also well done; reminds me of a British colonial style. Will definitely be back!

The vibe was great, the bar is beautiful but the food is at best, fair. ย The sea bass for 2 was over cooked and nothing to write home about. ย The chips and dip - the same - nothing special at all.
Be the first to ReplyVery cool place.
Running on all cylinders here with good energy. Great cocktails with bartenders taking pride in their craft. The design, decorations, seating, etc. are intricate and reminds you why cocktail lounges in NYC are superior.
Be the first to ReplySolid experience overall.
Great decor and good drinks and service. HOWEVER, the $50 "Steak Frites" came out as a whole, uncut, low quality steak. I could have cooked a better one myself, which is saying a lot. Not what I would expect from NYC, nor for the $50 price. "Cutting" the steak would be more appropriately described as hacking it up.
Be the first to ReplySuch a beautiful, sexy date night option.
Definitely go for food next door (Ragtrader, their sister restaurant) then come visit Parlour Room for after dinner drinks. If you're a whiskey lover, then this will be your heaven! They have non-whiskey options as well.
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance and drinks were good but the blond hostess
The ambiance and drinks were good but the blond hostess with wavy hair working the night of 02/19 was the rudest hostess I've ever encountered. We wanted to add one chair to our table but because we already were at "capacity" she refused saying that there isn't enough furniture although there were three open tables next to us. She was not accommodating at all. My friends and I won't be returning.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant had amazing ambience.
Comfortable furniture, gorgeous pictures, a great place for a business meeting or first date, in that regard. Our server, Dinamarie, was outstanding! The halibut was fine, flaky, prepared well, but lacking in flavor, and my mixed drink was perfection. The lobster wonton appetizer was good, mild, and unoffensive. My spouse ordered the beet salad which was good, and scallops that were undercooked, and when they recooked them they were quite mushy. We really wanted to love the duck fat potatoes but they were charred like small briquettes. As a substitute, we ordered the fries and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I definitely recommend those. To make up for our bad experience with the scallops, the manager comped us with a free chocolate cake for dessert, which was a nice gesture. I think we will return for a pre or post-show drink, but there is better dinner to be had in Manhattan.
Be the first to ReplyI'm really Impressed by The Parlour Room.
At first glance it looks like your eating in a dim light library. But it's really cool walking through seeing the chandelier, the long bar to the left, cozy couches to the right. I felt like I was eating at friends house with very nice furniture and amazing drinks. The polenta fries are amazing. Thick cut with chive sauce. Their filet mignon was so tender it cut like butter. The lobster mac n cheese was really creamy. Everything was perfect. The food match the atmosphere and the customer service helped make the experience even better.

O.M.G. This place is sexy. Like, drinks in Halle Berry's bedroom sexy. Hell, I felt like I was DRINKING Halle Berry herself. Mmmm-mmmmm!Once you get over the incredible "Wolf of Wall Street private penthouse" sexiness, you realize there's also substance too. To be fair, we only came here for post-dinner drinks. But boy did they deliver. Get the El Matador for heavy whiskey nuances. And get the Catcher in the Rye for whiskey that's been foamed and sweetened to please the most alcohol-averse palate.I want to come back here to christen every corner of this gorgeous venue.

If you are looking for an intimate, whiskey bar/lounge with a speakeasy vibe, I would definitely try out the Parlour Room! We stopped in for drinks and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I can't attest to the food, but the drinks were great. The handcrafted cocktail I tried was Game of Love and I loved it - very refreshing and spicy! The establishments next door are also part of the same ownership, so I'd definitely like to give them a try when I'm in the area next.
