No better place!!
I’ve been dining here for so long and somehow it keeps getting better. The food is fantastic and gourmet. Homemade. Delicious. Fresh ingredients. Even during the pandemic we had great takeout. With their new location, indoor and outdoor dining, live music and daily specials, this is just an incredible place. Don’t miss the desserts too. Love love love. I can’t say enough great things!

A wonderful little joint that punches above their weight In the tiny town of Hopewell. Everyone should get there ASAP! Chef Barry makes everything fresh. Today I had the Fridays only fish fry. Top notch! The Pastry Chef, I didn’t catch her name, delivers the goods. You need her Caramelize Apple Cake. Looking to return in the fall!

Not our neck of the woods; a friend recommended for a local lunch spot and we were not disappointed. Great lunch, great selections, very fresh. Very happy we swung by, and if/when we're back in Hopewell area we'll return.

Casual vibe, very clean, tasteful decor. Best cream of tomato soup I have ever had as a starter. Spinach salad for main course was very fresh, perfectly dressed, enormous and with so many candied nuts it could serve as a dessert as well. My DH ordered meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. He said it was very good, and he was only able to eat half because the portion was so large. Coffee was good, service was excellent and we will definitely be back.

For me the best part of TPG menu offerings has been the desserts. Across the board the pastries and cakes are top notch with my personal favorite the carrot cake. So when I ordered the brownie for $3.25 on 6/12/21 and the result was a DRY WEAK mess it was a surprise. When the counter person stated that one of the two female bakers had recently left it all came together.

Everything I have had has been very good. Try the BLT, you won’t be disappointed. Also the deserts are very good.

My Husband and I had a wonderful lunch today. We started with the best salad. A lovely sweet balsamic dressing over greens, walnuts, delicious. I had the turkey special. Best cranberry sauce to compliment the delicious sandwich. Even the bread. Soft on the inside with a little crunch on the crust. You could taste the freshness! The split pea soup was delightful. My husband had the blt. and it was great. Needless to say, we took some home, as the portions are large:) We sat outside. Very nice gardens surrounding the patio. They made sure to wipe all tables outside after folks left. It was such a safe and friendly environment. The Owner, Barry, took some time to talk with us, which made for an even better afternoon! The lemon bar was a delicious treat! The whole experience was just what we needed. We left happy and full. Thank You

Went there for lunch. Looks like a nice place . I came from Pennsylvania , she came from past Toms River . We were told we could not use the bathroom WHAT REALLY! We are women who drove far to meet each other and we can’t use the bathroom . Very upsetting. We are not men able to use a bush. The manager came out and said he was sorry but no one can go inside !!!! I must be crazy but if you serve food and drink I thought you were to provide a bathroom. We went across the way to the Blue Bottle Cafe . We had a great lunch , service and were able to use the bathroom.

The Irish Soda Bread IS amazing and at twice the size of competitors and only $1.50 more it's a bargain as well! We picked one up at our regular weekend breakfast outing and it was gone in hours at our house! I only wished it was available year around!
Breakfast at the grill has become our new Sunday tradition. It was worth waiting for as the specials ARE special, serving sizes are quite ample and the cost is more than reasonable. TPG is value and our first choice when dining out. We love it even more now that breakfast is on the menu!
Waited a full year to be disappointed
Went to fill a void for really good Irish Soda Bread. Was told it was baked the same day by a former baker from a now closed competitor that I enjoyed in the past. The product was spot on, The Best in my opinion, but the price $7.00 plus tax was a BIG downer. It is a simple bread not French pastry with few ingredients.

My husband and I love eating here. I love the roast turkey special but the highlight is the PMS chocolate cake! THE BEST CAKE I HAVE EVER HAD!!
Be the first to ReplySimple and complex at the same time
This cozy eatery lives up to its name: simple, delicious fare served in ample quantities, in a pleasant setting. The Peasant Grill takes everyday food choices and turns them into complex, culinary delights.
I had the portabello sandwich on a whole wheat bun that was excellent. Maybe it was the home-made pesto which added all that flavor? My side was broccoli rabe, which is notorious for its possible bitterness, but the Grill's was tangy and delicious. A friend had the baked salmon which she said was great. Another had the quiche made with bree, which was super creamy. The soups were wonderful and the meatballs, lovingly made by hand daily, according to the manager, Barry, were huge and scrumptious. At the end of our meal, several took home substantial doggy bags to enjoy the next day, but, unfortunately, none of us had room for dessert. That looked like a real loss, because there were two cases full of home-made desserts and baked goods to choose from. Oh well, I guess I will just have to go back for a mid-afternoon treat. Him, I think I'll do that sooner rather than later, and probably often!
A Wonderful Casual Restaurant
The restaurant offers a varied menu. The food is consistently good. The desserts are out of this world and service is good. My friends and I come here for dinner and sometimes lunch multiple times a week. This is our favorite go-to place for a quick meal.
