The Perch Kitchen and Tap Chicago Reviews from The Last Year
The front desk staff was not very welcoming or
The front desk staff was not very welcoming or accommodating. Arrived for Mother's Day brunch and the receptionists tried to seat us at a table that were up some stairs, and when I shared that my husband was coming with a stroller, the receptionist staff (girl with curly brown hour) looked annoyed and told us to come back to the front and she'd ask her supervisors for another table...instead she just walked away and left me and my son in the front. After 10 minutes, I asked another staff member for assistance and she was more helpful and actually got in contact with the main receptionist staff person and got us a seat. When our food arrived, my husband's dish had bacon in it (we don't eat meat) even though their menu did NOT mention any meat in this particular dish. And for my toddler's meal (pancake w/ fruit), it came with a side of bacon/sausage and when we said we didn't want the meat, they said he could have an extra pancake--to which we responded, yes please. But when his dish came out, no extra pancake. The waitress was nonchalant about it and was like we actually can't give an extra pancake. And I'm thinking, why offer something that you're not sure of (?) Overall, this place caused my Mother's Day to start off on a bad foot, and I have no plans to return here.

The drink purple rain here is a hit! So are the lobster deviled eggs and the calypso shrimp. The rotisserie chicken needs more flavor, it was bland. Whomever created that signature in house seasoning need to go back to the drawing board or go sit in their grandma or auntie kitchen to get some lessons in seasoning because that ain't it. Nice location with a cool but small outdoor beer garden style area, with its own entrance and exit. which is nice. Our server, heavy set woman with black hair appeared to be overwhelmed with larger parties so maybe she should stick to smaller groups. Food and drinks came out timely tho. I would come back to try other items on the menu and sit indoors. They're two different vibes. Parking sucks in this area but hey it's Wicker Park so that's to be expected.
I love this place.
Best old fashioneds. I love the chicken dip and French fries. All of the appetizers are really good as well. And everyone is always super friendly.

The food was good but the personal was rude and begged for money. Sad that this is the case.
Went for Sunday brunch and had an excellent experience.
Sever was new but did a solid job. Patio was a vibe and plenty of seating options outside. Overall the food was above average but we LOVED the selection available on the doggie menu. Multiple options served warm in a cute little bowl, we loved it. For my entree I got the biscuits & gravy, egg, and side of hashbrowns. Taste was on point, biscuits moist with a nice exterior, gravy thick with chunks of sausage. Sausage they use is over spiced a bit and def the main flavor of the gravy. Also didn't get enough gravy but really no biggie. Wife enjoyed the wicker park omelette, pretty standard. Got my dog some kind of scrambled egg, spinach, chicken bowl. She devoured it. Would highly reccomend if you'd like some nice patio action with the pup, otherwise wouldn't be on my radar as the food is above average, and the beer below.

I called this place requesting a patio reservation for brunch because of my dog. I was told patio was first-come first-serve, which I totally understand. Over the phone, however, they said that I should be able to get seated on the patio right away because it wasn't usually crowded. But we were still told to wait 30-40 minutes when we showed up. We probably would've left if it actually took that long. Luckily it took less time, but still a weird situation. I liked the vibe of the patio though! There are fun decorations, and there were many dogs hanging out. The service was great. The brunch items are made to order, so the food came out fast. As for the meal itself, it was mediocre at best. The Wicker Park omelet was kind of dry and lacking flavor. I had bites of cinnamon roll, pancakes, and cornbread from my friends who ordered them, which were pretty good. I would definitely lean towards sweet breakfast items rather than savory here. I live pretty far from here and it was honestly not worth the drive.
Everything is awesome.
Food spectacular, great service. Favorites, corn bread, Wrightwood salad, Oreo ice cream dessert, croquettes, carrot cake, salmon.

The Perch has excellent food and local craft beer! I had I think the best crab cake in my life here! It was so fresh, well seasoned, and filled with crab. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu.

We went to dinner at The Perch last night with our 3 young children. The immense hospitality throughout our entire visit was so appreciated! The gentleman at the front got us set up with a high chair and booster for our kids and they even have a stand to put a car seat on. The kids cups of water with fun straws and little wax sticks to play with made our kids smile. Our server Tim was excellent and kind. We always love the food there - a great menu of options and delicious flavors. The free kids meals from 4-6pm is a nice offering too! We may make a visit to The Perch a weekly thing!
For the service and price of the food it was outstanding.
It was on the more classier side for a brewery. Well thought out for the layout on the inside & outside (for summer). I had the Baby back ribs with fries & mashed potatoes. It was smoked & or cooked (can't remember if both or one) over 2 or 3 types of wood. Had that hint of cherry flavor. Would definitely comeback.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.

Reservations could be posted for a variety of reasons. Most likely, the person who secured the reservation can no longer attend - to avoid accruing a "no show" fee, they can find someone to take their place.
