Overall a great dining experience, good luck getting a reservation. The staff is super friendly and attentive, ambiance is classy and elegant. Website states strict dress code but it was not enforced the night we were there. Started with a cocktail at the bar before my party arrived, bartenders were very nice and offered great recommendations. I had the margarita which was light & refreshing, when the table was ready they transferred our bill and brought our drinks downstairs to the dining room. Complimentary bread was very good & flakey, similar to a croissant. For appetizer we had the oysters, crab cake & salad, all good. I highly recommend the crab cake. Entrees- party of 3 we shared the burger & branzino. The burger was cooked to perfection, it seemed like everyone in the restaurant was ordering this! I would pass on the Branzino, a little overcooked and bland, served with broccoli rabe. Mushroom side was very good! For dessert we shared the brownie and opted for coffee ice cream instead of vanilla per our waiter's recommendation. It did not disappoint.

Although it's super hard to get a reservation it's definitely worth it! Everything was great from the moment you walk in. Love the old school vibe. The wood, the leather, the ambiance is everything & more. The margaritas were great although drinks are pricey. Everyone is super attentive & the food was great. Started with the oysters, crab cake (AMAZING), & chopped salad. Entree we tried the infamous polo burger which is great for sharing (very thick) & the grilled branzino which was ok. (Nothing special). For dessert we had the polo bar brownie & opted for the coffee ice cream which was soooo good you could actually taste the coffee beans in every bite. I would definitely come back to explore the menu.

Excellent service and food! Our sever was so personable and knowledgeable. He was fun to visit with about our upcoming Broadway show too! We had the shrimp cocktail (5 huge shrimp) mushroom soup, burger, fries, and corned beef sandwich all of which were so good! We will definitely be back!

Finally got a chance to cross off this restaurant this time twice .insert. smug face in the amount of time I'm in town. I totally get it. Everything is delicious. From bevies, starters (prawn cocktail- yum), seared scallops and its delicious glaze, pigs in a blanket (totally different than the ones you buy frozen from back in the day), Oysters were juicy and perfect sized, burger was juicy and not overwhelming, my favourite corned beef sandwich in New York (the others are overwhelming portioned too large), all the desserts were amazing, esp. the chocolate cake. Decor is very comfortable, clean and old school. NYC is a whirlwind, and at polo bar it's easy to forget to take some more photos and just focus on the food and company. I'd love to come back and try the rest of the menu.

Finally had the opportunity to try the infamous Polo Bar - Ralph Laurens restaurant m. I gotta start off saying it totally makes sense how exclusive and hard to get a reservation here is as the service and crowd was absolutely perfect. Immediately upon entering we checked our jackets in and waited in the saloon for our table to be made. While waiting in the saloon we were given delicious snacks to munch on - some of the best nutts, chips, and fried olives ive ever had! Once seated at the restaurant table we ordered oysters, pigs in a blanket, corned beef sandwich, truffle fries, and the brownie cake to share between myself and my friend. All the food was sooo good and classic american. The truffle fries had a strong truffle flavor - probably the best truffle fries ive ever hadthe corned beef sandwich was juicy and tender, sooo great and the perfect portion to split the pigs in a blanket were honestly nothing special - but still an american classic. was really cool to see it on the menu the oysters were classic and very meaty and firm - the vinegar and cocktail sauce were so fresh and paired welllast was the dessert. the brownie was very warm and chewy. paired well with the fresh classic vanilla ice cream. the perfect way to finish a meal10/10 recommend - that is if you can get a reservation;)

The atmosphere and fact that it's one of the hardest reservations to get, I surmise, adds to the whole appeal of dining here. Can't even get inside the door without reservations. May-spot-a-celebrity kind of place (did see one despite only being able to snag 5pm reservation on a Saturday). The service is also great and I didn't feel too rushed, despite being told I had to leave the table at 7pm for the next table. There is an option to find a seat at the bar upstairs after dinner, if needed. If I was able to get a other reservation in the future, I would visit again.

This is a beautiful restaurant that happens to also have a solid menu of classic "all american" food. Our table of 4 Ordered the cauliflower, the Caesar salad, corned beef sandwiches, and tuna tartar to start. My entree was a burger which was cooked perfectly. The dessert menu is similarly classic and although we didnt order dessert this time, I am sure it would not disappoint. Each dish was strong and id be happy ordering any of them again. I consider it high end comfort food similar to the food at Hillstones, (which I happen to love!) but in a more posh swanky setting. Take a date here to impress them, or dinner with the parents- but on a midweek night it was quite crowded, although Im not sure when this spot is ever quiet!

I had not visited this establishment in ten years and was unaware that HOGSALT was now the proprietor of the NYC CLASSIC. I have been waiting to try Polo Bar since I moved to the city 7 years ago! My friend made a reservation for four people at 8pm on a Friday. We arrived early to have a martini at the bar upstairs. They provide a few snacks that shouldn't be overlooked. When our table was ready, we were escorted down to the dining room. The service was fabulous and the room feels old time, quintessential New York. We started with the free popovers, tuna tar tar, pigs in a blanket and Caesar salad. All were great.For entrees we tried the branzino, veal Milanese and strip steak and a side of mushrooms. No bad dishes. We finished with espresso martinis and the coconut cake. I love Polo Bar!

.. you can feel the exclusivity just by passing the place let alone stepping inside. Yes, the reservation process is a hassle but I feel we still need some of that these days! When everything can be experienced through a tiktok or Instagram reel, the Polo Bar still keeps that air of exclusivity with their tough door, and it honestly does make your dining experience feel a little more elevated. When I do have a reservation here, my favorite thing to do is arrive s little early so I can sit at the bar and have a cocktail. While their drink menu has a nice variety, their bartenders have no qualms about whipping up whatever you like. The fried olives, nuts and potato chips to snack on are also one of my favorite things, too. Now, on to dinner... going down the sweeping staircase (or taking the elevator) down to their buzzing dining room is such a sweeping energy filled rush! If you're able to get a corner booth, enjoy the people watching you can do while you dine on their dinner menu items. My pro tip? Don't come here without getting something off of the specials of the evening b/c you'll absolutely regret it if you don't! Some of my favorite things eaten ever come from their specials... from the tuna burger to the salmon carpaccio, their specials are amazing. As for menu items? I'm a big fan of their ribeye and their tuna tartare. Now because of the hustle and bustle you may feel that the service can be a tad bit more attentive but I always feel they do what they can while dealing with the volume the best they can. Long story short? Go if you can as it's certainly an experience - especially if you like to dine out. Polo Bar... you're a classic!

My wife and I went here with my son and his partner during a week long visit to New York.We had the early 5.15pm sitting but despite this on descending down the stairs to the restaurant the place was buzzing.A well dressed clientele were being attended to by a battery of staff.Of particular note was our water was topped up continuously.Our choice of wine was aided by an expert sommelier.Prices reflect the super experience of dining there.The appetiser clams special was super.The main course burger was extremely filling especially with its side of chips.Service was excellent

We visit NY regularly and were told this was a great place to go. After months of trying to get a reservation, I finally had the hotel concierge get us in on our next visit a month later, but only at 5:30. That was fine since we just came back from Europe and we’re not yet fully on Eastern time. When we arrived, there was a lady at the door with a tablet, and you couldn’t get past her until she checked your reservation. We then checked in inside, and were sent downstairs where we had to check in again. The place was packed and noisy. We were seated, but the noise was so loud, we asked to be moved to a quieter place which they did, but it wasn’t really any quieter. The tables were so packed together, that I had to move my table in order not to be hitting the guy’s back next to me. The waiter came to tell us the specials and he was screaming it at us. He was probably hard of hearing from working here. We ordered a shrimp cocktail that was good and medium hamburgers. We will always order medium anywhere and hope they do not overcook it. These could have been listed as steak tartare. The fries while greasy may have been hand cut, but were so so and salty. We couldn’t wait to leave and went back to the hotel where we had Lady M strawberry shortcake in the refrigerator. It’s a joke that you cannot get in here, and isn’t something I’ll have to worry about in the future.

We loved the food and service at the Polo Bar and would recommend it to anyone. One note, however: I never wear "hard" shoes anywhere unless I have to. But I was told when making the reservation that hard shoes were part of the dress code for this restaurant. When we got there, I noticed that half the people standing in line were wearing sneakers. I mentioned the "hard shoes" requirement to the host who said he had never heard that before. I wish I knew that before packing for this trip. Hard shoes are NOT required....but the restaurant is great. Don't miss it.

Enjoyed the service, food and atmosphere before heading to a show at the Hudson Theater. To be honest, I didn't think I'd get a reservation. My friend called and gave up waiting on hold so I said I'd give it a try. As I was waiting, I thought there must be another line for VIPs that gets answered. But then I read the Yelp reviews and regular ole people said they got reservations so I was hopeful. I waited about 25 minutes before Austin answered the phone. I got through! Run, don't walk to this iconic establishment! The ambiance is old meets new, classy and classic, and many many horses on the walls. Right across from the st regis hotel. Call the reservation line 30 days before you want to go and make it happen! Wear your best (men were mostly wearing suits, women were in nicer dinner outfits) and enjoy. Hosts upstairs and downstairs were so sweet to us. We started with dirty martinis, then we ate the complimentary popovers. Then we ate the fried olives, caesar salads, & pigs in a blanket. We split the burger & fries, and had the vanilla ice cream sunday with candied pecans and chocolate sauce. Food was epic. Service was lovely and frequent - there must have been 300 waiters and busboys! They all had excellent customer service. Go for a special occasion or just if you're feelin fancy. Best experience!!!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

Best Answer It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?

Best Answer Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

What happens if my bid expires unanswered?

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
