My spouse and I visited The Raymond during their happy hour on a Friday. Valet is available, though we usually park on the street and make the short walk to the restaurant when we come here.We were seated on the patio next to a water fountain; a peaceful spot to enjoy a sunny late afternoon inPasadena.Together, we tried four drinks off their happy hour menu. The old fashioned and G&T were both perfect and generously prepared. The cosmo and daiquiri were both lighter, sweeter, delightful. We have learned to expect high-quality drinks when we come here, so of course, even their $10 happy hour cocktails were excellent. We also tried a snack from this menu: the tater tots. The tots by themselves were OK, but the fresh-tasting ketchup is what made this a pretty good dish (maybe we'll opt for the cauliflower with tzatziki on our next visit for happy hour). We also ordered a few items from their dinner menu. What has made ordering the baguette fun for us is the rotating, flavored butters (on our visit, ours were pimento cheese and espresso). The acorn squash dish was a memorable highlight to our meal. It's an excellent meat-less option, and I am excited to order it again in the future. And for dessert; one cannot go wrong with classic crème brûlée!A note: though their offerings are usually quite good, I've found that, historically, their dinner menu tends to be a bit limited. This may be something to keep in mind if you intend to bring people who may benefit from a few more options.Thank you, The Raymond, for a lovely experience!
