Very busy coffee shop in a very nice section of BHam.
There were a bunch of people working in here when I stopped by. Staff was nice and friendly. I ordered the Blue Russian latte. I would have liked more peppermint in it, but was still a solid choice.

This is my go to coffee shop, I love to stop here after I finish at Pepper Place market. I have tried the smoothies and the chai tea lattes. The iced chai tea latte is my go to. This coffee shop normally has a long line but they move very fast and it's never a long wait for your order. I have to try the food the next time I visit bc it looks pretty good. There is plenty of parking options, street parking or the parking lot. The prices for the coffee are reasonable. I would highly recommend trying this location the next time you need a caffeine fix

I rented The Red Cat at Pepper Place for our rehearsal dinner. It was absolutely perfect. Mike (owner) was super easy to work with. All communication was by email. The space was exactly what we wanted. The bride wanted casual, intimate and fun. At the end of the evening she said it was perfect and she wouldn't change a thing. Tre Luna (HIGHLY recommend) was the caterer. Only one glitch...but it all worked out...the owner mistakingly put down the wrong date. But when I say that EVERYONE pivoted on a dime that is not an understatement. It all worked out. Don't hesitate to rent for your event (just make sure to triple check the date :) ).
Be the first to ReplyThe coffee is 5 stars.
I am a black coffe drinker. But I saw the list of those tasty lattes and thought, hmmm... after chatting with the cashier who graciously walked me through the menu, I decided on the Abyssinian with sugar free vanilla, extra cinnamon and an extra shot. It was one of the best cups of coffee I've had in years. I was shocked. It was strong, but not bitter, spiced but not sweet. Part of my four star rating was that it could have been a bit warmer. There's plenty of seating including tables and a couch and outside tables. I chose to do some work, but the wifi wasn't working, hence another reason for 4 stars. A coffee house with no wifi is just wild to me. However, I'd definitely be back!

We stopped at this coffee shop in Birmingham on our way to Memphis. My sister and I got coffee (cafe au lait and an chicory latte) and my son had a hot chocolate. We all loved our drinks. The coffee was fresh and flavorful and the hot chocolate wasn't overly sweet. It must have been our lucky day because it was cookie happy hour or something - all the cookies were half off so we got 3 chocolate chip cookies which we delicious - warm, soft, sweet and melt in your mouth buttery. The decor is eclectic and fun and the staff are really friendly and fun! I live in the Atlanta area so I can't say I'll be back, but I recommend this place for locals and passers through alike

Great coffee, excellent breakfast burrito with turkey sausage. Pastries from Birmingham Breadworks, so you can't go wrong.
Be the first to ReplyI got a smoothie today.
Banana, mango and strawberry and it is tasty. Normally I get a mocha but since I made a change in my plans today and glad I did. Service is always fast.

Blasted hot on a 100degree death March across Birmingham before the convention tomorrow. Nice guys helped me choose my first iced coffee. I'm definitely sitting and sipping, well guzzling the first few ounces and then going to sit and enjoy it as I cool off and contemplate the walk back to the hotel. Great little place and if the coffee cups didn't weigh anything I'd buy one!

Thank you! Delicious coffee, gF options for breakfast in a fun atmosphere. Seating table top, high top or watching out at the people passing by or in this case, Farmers Market was going on outside this Saturday and it was so much fun! A rockabilly duo. Is there anything better? Well some things yes, but for regional Americana tastes and enjoyment this is great! Street and lot parking, made it easy to stop in and enjoy.

Phew. Where to start? I can't exist without a Pepper Place Persian. Extra hot. Even tho this place gets slammed, they always show up and make sure everyone is taken care of. Super nice staff. Love the windows, vibe is solid. Find me there on Saturday.

RESTAURANT REVIEW THE SPOT The Red Cat Coffee House 2901 Second Avenue S, Birmingham, AL 35233FoodBuffalo Chicken Wrap Loaded Potato SoupDragonfruit Lemonade Let's talk about it!! So if you're looking for a chill spot to grab lunch at and maybe do some remote work, this is your spot. It's a very open environment and quiet if you don't like too much noise. The food is good but nothing too heavy so you can get through the workday. The Buffalo chicken wrap was very good! It had just the right amount of Buffalo in it. The loaded potato soup was good as well. I would've preferred a more potato-ey taste but it still got the job done. To wash the meal down I had the dragonfruit lemonade and it was sooo refreshing. I highly recommend. Check them out and be sure to let me know what you think! Be the first to ReplyBeen here several times.
Before today I ordered off the menu for a ice or hot drink but today I wanted a hot chocolate mocha with caramel and they accommodated me with my choice and it was good. I make my own and theirs was close to my own.
Be the first to ReplyPretty decent.
I enjoy lattes from here, just wish they had a bigger selection. Yes I know it's a all place but a little extra variety couldn't hurt, right? They are great for a midday pick me up

The coffee here was alright, but entirely overpriced for the quality of food we received. We ordered a ham& cheese croissant, the croissant was overbaked and hard. We also got a bacon egg and cheese and my partner said the cheese and bacon both had no flavor and was pretty sure the eggs came from a box. I also ordered a BLT for lunch later and i could attest to the bacon lacking flavor and also not being crisp. Overall lackluster and for $36 with the amount of food/drink we had...I wouldn't come back.

Breakfast is the best meal of the day! How anyone starts their day without coffee is beyond me. I love a good cup, especially a latte. I went outside my usual and got a Burmese latte, which has coconut and vanilla. Life changing! Seriously the best latte of my life!Add a fresh egg, sausage and cheese croissant sandwich and I was ready to rock my day! The entire ambiance was so nice - way cooler than any franchise coffee shop you'll find. The staff was great and I savored every ounce of this latte and sandwich! Can't wait to be in the area again so I can go back!

This place is so cozy and I can't believe I didn't know about how extensive the menu was for food!! I will definitely be coming to work from here more often. Came here after a walk at Jemison Park for some lunch and it was the perfect Saturday. I got the chicken panini and tomato soup and he got the italian panini with the potato soup - all very good!! I think the tomato soup is more of a dipping soup, but they were decent cafe soups if that makes sense. The sandwich was fantastic.

Red Cat is the best place to get a cup of coffee when you feel like you need a pick-me-up or want to indulge in a fun holiday/seasonal drink. No matter the location, the baristas are incredibly nice and relaxed. The ambiance is entertaining! It makes a corner in Birmingham feel like I had just been transported to a swanky coffee shop in SoHo. Definitely one of my favorite places to go!
Be the first to ReplyFound myself driving around Birmingham the other day
Found myself driving around Birmingham the other day looking for coffee. This place had the most reviews, and good ones. ย So I (as I usually do) put my trust in the yelp community as they put theirs in me, and went over the bridge, made a left and a right and there it was. ย Spacious, well appointed and inviting. ย An oasis in an otherwise (mostly) commercial neighborhood. ย I ordered a Cafe A Lait. ย For breakfast I was told the croissant sandwiches cant be beat. ย I ordered a Turkey Sausage, Egg and cheese. ย No mention of the panini press they put in the sandwich which TOOK IT OVER THE TOP. ย It was delicious, filling and craveable. ย The coffee was very good, how bad could it be right? ย I also took home a piece of Banana Nut bread which smells great but have not eaten...... YET! ย Go and enjoy.

Very good! They were packed because it was in the morning at the market. Coffee was good. I had the Bengal (all their special drinks are named after cats. ย We ate the breakfast bowl. More than we could eat. But I have to say that the best was the pumpkin chocolate chip muffin...so good

The ambiance of this place alone makes it worthy enough to pay a visit. It has very warm embellishments and a cozy feel. I tried an absynnian frappe it was one of their specialties. It was good, a little too icy and that took away from the flavor a bit. My girlfriend tried a caramel apple latte and said the flavors didn't really pop. I'll try different menu items until I find a favorite because I do feel like there are some quality items here. They also serve cafe food crepes, pastries, etc. Service was super friendly. You walk in and head straight to the counter to place an order so I do suggest checking the menu out online prior to your visit. There are several 4 top, a few two tops, a laptop bar and a couple couches so plenty of seating for a variety of groups. Busier on weekends but probably a great place to study or relax on week days. If you're in the pepper place market area stop by. Some Saturday's there are even vendors and a farmers market so make an adventure out of the day.

Red Cat is super cozy and a perfect place to enjoy your coffee. If you like coffee with a tad of sweetness but not too much this is how they make most of their drinks. They also have cat themed coffee names which is really fun. I love pairing their drinks with the pastries sold at the farmer's market but they have their own food as well. The prices are great and it's one of the best local coffee shops in Birmingham!
