overnight stay
We have just had the best time at teh Ritz, from the moment we were welcomed at the kirbside of our taxi until we checked out the service and friendleness of everyone was just outstanding. The afternoon tea was just so good as was the breakfast all made so much better than any other hotel by the extremley attentative staff. We cannot wait to come back.
Be the first to Replyfabulous Tea at The Ritz
Yet another five star review to add to the large collection but, frankly, it is so deserving of it. Went with my wife to the famous Tea at The Ritz and we could not have been happier with the experience. The setting is a delight, the food is beyond wonderful and the staff ,oh the staff, from the waiters to the door staff and beyond they are friendly, helpful and there when you need them without being intrusive. We got chatting to a few staff members and it was a common theme that they had been there for many years and had no intention of leaving anytime soon. Their standards are of the highest quality and the training shines through. A fabulous experience and one that we will certainly repeat.
Be the first to ReplyEffortless, sophisticated charm and magic. It’s our first choice for London.
Excellent stay as always, the staff are amazing and accommodating. Old school charm and sophisticated luxury. Afternoon tea was lovely. Our whole stay was magical. It seemed effortless even with the expansion of the hotel next door. I hope it loses none of its values and charm when it’s finished.

We went for afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday and we weren’t disappointed! The room was stunning and the staff as you’d would expect were superb. The selection of sandwiches and cakes was plentiful and the champagne added to the booking was the icing on the cake.. we can’t wait to go back again.
Be the first to ReplyThe ultimate dining experience in exquisite surroundings
It was our 42nd wedding anniversary and we thought our son had booked us into the Ritz for their famous afternoon tea, but in fact he had booked a lunch experience. The whole experience was brilliant from the start, from the initial greeting by the door staff to the cloakroom attendant, the welcome at the Rivoli bar to the actual meal itself. My wife and I shared the leg of lamb, while my son and niece shared the whole Bresse duck as our mains on the 3 course lunch menu. Both were carved at the table by the knowledgeable staff who took the time to explain each course in detail —this extended to the starters, mains, desserts, amuse bouche even the petit fours. The presentation, the formality and of course the exquisite surroundings of the main dining room with a pianist were beyond reproach as was the quality of the food and impeccable service throughout. Of course all this does not come cheap and our final bill which included cocktails, champagne, wine and coffee came to a four figure amount. It’s affordable only for a special occasion and as a final nice touch we were presented with a small anniversary cake and card to take home. All in all a lovely experience but unlikely to be repeated on a regular basis. We even saw some famous faces also dining there at the same time.
Be the first to ReplyJust wonderful.
I’ve eaten here twice so far in the last 12 months - once alone and once with a friend for my birthday. I have a reservation for in a couple of weeks and I cannot wait. The food is to die for and the service is consistently exceptional in both the bar and restaurant. See you soon!

It was exceptional experience. It was my 50th Birthday celebration and the staff makes me feel special. I had special cake and a very nice birthday song! Very friendly and professional. Can’t fault anything. We had takeaway cake as well. Thank you very much.

An amazing experience. Afternoon tea booked for my moms 60th birthday. It’s something she’s always wanted to do so we all went along for the fun. We received the warmest possible welcome by the doormen who I would like to give a special call out to. They could not have been more welcoming to the six of us. Nothing was too much trouble, happy to take and pose with us for pictures and even encouraged this to help us enjoy the experience. They took our suitcases with no issue at all. Clock room staff were very down to earth and great to chat to. Service continued with a sense of excellence from all. The room sang happy birthday to my mom with a special cake just for her. The afternoon tea itself was also fantastic, everything was quickly replenished upon request. 5/5 Thank you to The Ritz London team and a special shout out to the front doormen on the morning of the 12th of Feb 2024.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely horrendous customer service
We were due to have lunch and called ahead to advise our flight had been delayed and could we amend our booking by 1hr, they then cancelled our booking and changed my card €180 as a cancellation policy, I tried to see if they would allow us to have tea or a sandwich at 3pm and it refused, this is horrendous behaviour and we expected a lot better from them. I gave sine emailed the manager to relay my experience and stool had no response whatsoever from them. This really is not acceptable to treat customers in this manner and I would advise anyone to be very careful when booking here as clearly you are just a cash cow that they could not care less about

Fabulous. The Live at the Ritz on Friday night was everything we had hoped for. Fantastic venue. Gore at service. Fabulous food. Live music. Dance exhibition by professionals. And plenty of opportunity to get up and dance to great American standards. It’s extremely posh but not at all stuffy or snobby. Felt welcomed and relaxed.
Be the first to ReplyRip off Ritz charges 2-year old £45 for breakfast.
We traveled from the US to London and wanted to experience the famous ritz English breakfast. The food and service was great but I was charged £45 for my 2 year old who ate 4 bites of my yogurt and 2 bites of my toast. C’mon Ritz….that’s a poor showing and ruined our experience completely. We didn’t order him anything at all and I was shell shocked when I got the bill. Hard to recommend a great place with such a bitter taste.
Be the first to ReplyAvoid - life is too short
Where to start… Go to the Ritz Restaurant if you enjoy cruise ship-style entertainment during dinner, prefer not being able to hear the company that you’re with, have little interest in seeing the food on your plate (the lighting is terrible), want to be harassed by technically-trained waiting staff with the emotional intelligence of a sponge and if you have a morbid distrust of vegetables & desire for gout. The menu is dull, grandstanding and uninspired. The amuse bouche and petit fours were fabulous but I’d actually pay not to be subjected to this entire experience again. One of my party ate the lobster and was violently sick later that evening. Wild horses couldn’t drag me back
Be the first to ReplyJust WOW!
Just WOW WOW WOW! Amazing experience from start to finish. We dined on a Friday evening for the ‘live at the ritz’ and it was outstanding! The food, entertainment and service was just out of this world. We went for my husbands 40th but just can’t wait to go back!!!
Be the first to ReplyFour star food, three star service
Myself and my wife enjoyed a meal here to cap off our weekend in London. The restaurant were happy to cater to our gluten allergy. My wife had the crab to start which she thoroughly enjoyed. We then each had the lamb which was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! Following this we each had a souffle, which was okay at most - definitely the low of the meal. The food on its own was definitely nearer 5 stars. A happy anniversary card was a lovely touch. What lost the restaurant its stars were the service, which it prides itself on. For all of the glitz and glamour of the waiters, their actual one on one service was poorer than expected. Whilst I understand the restaurant operate the usual ID'ing policy, we were a little surprised to be both ID'ed when ordering wine. The waiter then passed us a comment that it's because we look young, which was a tad unprofessional for a restaurant of this standing. On two seperate occasions the waiters dropped plates / trays, one of which included a smashed glass. The selection of coffees was also disappointing - my wife ordered an irish coffee yet they did not listen properly and gave us two - a harmless mistake when they're not nearly £25 each. The waiter also refused to take a picture of us as it was against policy - all disappointing aspects of service to bring down the delicious meal.
Be the first to ReplyA wonderful dining experience
For a "special birthday" treat London provided a multitude of choices. My wife is a great fan of executive chef John Williams' TV appearances so the choice was made and we were able to get a dinner reservation on a Sunday evening from 6 30. We arrived by Black Cab and were greeted by the doorman. We spent a few minutes drinking in the opulence of our surroundings, especially the newly refurbished Palm Court. Our table for two was ready and we were shown to the far corner of the dining room. I was glad that I was wearing a jacket as being seated by a large glass window overlooking an atrium it was a little on the chilly side. We had chosen the seven course tasting menu accompanied by sparkling water (Hilden of course). As expected each dish was an absolute delight, not only pretty as a picture but packed full of flavour. Cold dishes were served on cold plates and warm dishes on warm plates. More often than not the cutlery provided included an additional spoon allowing us to make the most of the excellent sauces. The waiting staff, dressed in frock coats were very professional particularly when it came to the two dishes, pigeon presse and crepe suzette which were prepared at the table. Pure theatre! Although I was not watching the clock the meal lasted around three hours and would have been longer had we opted for coffee. A nice touch was a birthday cake packed for us to take-away. Dining at The Ritz is never going to be cheap, but reflecting on the whole experience nothing disappointed and the food was cooked and served to perfection definitely 10/10
Be the first to ReplyA very special experience
The service is impeccable from the moment you go through the door. You are met immediately by someone who takes your coat and in our case escorted us to the bar for a pre lunch drink. The Rivoli bar is beautiful and the drinks are perfectly poured and the snacks generous and delicious. Our bill was transferred to the restaurant and we were taken by a member of the bar staff. We had a wonderful lunch. Everything you are served is delicious. The canapés and after lunch handmade chocolates are a nice touch. We had the Sunday roast and the quality of the produce was excellent. A starter of cured salmon was particularly good. As it was a special birthday we were served crepe Suzette at our table which was a lovely treat. A selection of cheeses followed and with the Champagne and wine a perfect birthday lunch. With the service and quality of the food it is well worth the cost for a set lunch. We will go back at some point because it is so special. Lovely to see the dress code upheld.

Yet again a stunning meal... Saturday night dinner & Dance. Food simply divine and every dish service was simply perfect. Service was slightly less polished than last time we ate here (prob 9 months ago) which was a shame... but none-the-less it was good. If you want a treat, stunning cuisine and to enjoy a restaurant where people actually dress for dinner, look lovely and don't turn up in trainers, T-shirts and jeans this place is it!.. Ritz - Keep up the dress code, and the food... a firm favourite.
Be the first to ReplyAnd unsurpassed Michelin star restaurant
This Michelin star restaurant does not disappoint. With a maximum of 60 covers a day, you have the table as long as you need. The dress code is very formal without exception. Men must wear a jacket and tie. There are several options on the menu, but if you are feeling adventurous try the 5 or 7 course chefs menu with a wine paring. This is not cheap $$$$. The level of service is impeccable.

go here alll the time its absolutely amazing the wait staff are amazing and the courses are spectacular

There's a parade of staff, moving in an unfathomable way, swishing about in a way that reminded me of Madonna and Vogue. So that reflects more on me than the service. They explain every detail of each dish, which is just splendid, albeit somewhat incomprehensible and had I asked for an explanation would have dragged the meal out and taken the staff away from fellow diners. So I'm not entirely sure what one dish was. It was all just lovely. Everyone at our table had a wonderful time, and clearly, a little wasted on me.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food but don’t bother going for a la carte at lunch
Lunch on a Friday. Was toying with whether to go for a la carte or the £70 lunch menu (3 courses). Have had bad experiences of “lunch deals” at other places (small size portions, not the full experience). With some dishes overlapping between the lunch menu and a la carte (eg the lamb) I asked the waiter the difference in the dishes and there was “some difference in the sides that come with it” so I thought okay, this is secret code that best to go with the regular menu. Given a la carte starters are circa £40, mains are £60-70 and desserts are £25 (so circa £125 per person) it is 80% more expensive than the lunch menu. Yes you get langoustine and lobster choices which you don’t with the lunch menu but still is a quite a difference…. I think I was expecting a whole load of between course extras which never came. The langoustine and lamb were delicious, the banana parfait was not great with a wedge of too thick caramel underneath that was almost inedible. So a A-/B+ for the food (downgraded for the dessert) with a slight disappointment that should have gone with the lunch menu or the 5 course epicurean (which is £150). We had paid almost as much as those diners who had gone “epicurean” and had a constant stream of interesting looking dishes including between course extras!! Was a bit jealous. At dinner you obviously do not have the option of a special deal but for lunch the strong advice is go for the lunch deal or 5 course epicurean. Great service by young, super attentive waiters. FYI, outside the restaurant (which is looking great) the hotel needs some serious updating.

I had dinner here in the summer of 2022 when London hit 104 degrees and was extremely happy. The dining room is stunning and very spacious. That itself adds a sense of graciousness that one hardly finds elsewhere. Wonderfully classic, the Ritz offers a French haute cuisine menu that is rarely found anywhere today. I pre-ordered the Beef Wellington, had a starter of sweetbreads, and ended with Crepes Suzette. One hardly ever encounters these formerly mandatory menu items anywhere, at least in serious restaurants. This is the real deal and is superb. The service was very welcoming, and even sweet, by younger English and Italian servers, with an equally-excellent wine steward. There are other entrees, and an impressive tasting menu is also offered. Yes, it's expensive, but one pays for a total experience that's worth the cost. Can't wait to go back.
