Overpriced average Teppanyaki
Canโt say the food tasted bad, the seafood dish was nice, sauces were great, and service was friendly and no complaints there. But the steak I got was very ridiculously expensive and Iโve had tenderer steaks from the coles meat section cooked at home. Was supposed to be 300g, more like 200 if that, over $100 and not tender melt in the mouth wagyu in any way shape or form!

Service.
The 2 Vietnamese ladies that served us were very nice. However service was extremely slow. Seat at 8 given drink menu , 8.15 took order, 8.25 wine & beer arrived 8.34 cocktails arrived while being served the 1st part of the meal.
Meal.
The Nepalese โ teppanyakiโ who was very nice & worked very hard didnโt have a clue. Iโve been to teppanyaki all over the world & the chefs showmanship is the main reason you do it. The whole meal was VERY ORDINARY & the beef highlight still had whip marks from the jockey.
Just terrible meat full of gristle & fat.
I know about marbling & this beast must of been eating marble.
Toilet needed ropes to clim down the stairs and it need to be serviced if you catch the drift.
This was the most overpriced bad value for your for money restaurant
I have ever been to anywhere in the world.
This restaurant is about as Japanese as I am. The chef was Nepalese, the waiters Vietnamese l, would be nice to see 1 Japanese person.
$840 for 4 for 1 drink & 1:4 bottle of wine each (1 of the cheapest wines $68 )
What a ripoff never again
Disappointing
It's overpriced and sterile.
Staff are very set in the way they serve food and can't adapt to special occasions or simple requests such as dividing the food up equally to include a child.
Food was very bland but fresh.
Best experience ever
Yesterday night I had a chance to have a dinner with some other people in this beautiful restaurant. The food was just outstanding and cooked perfectly. Staff is professional and attentive. Good value for money, I will be back

I want to start by saying the staff and service were lovely.
But I was disappointed in the food, and the ambience. The restaurant lacks the vibe of my other teppan dining experiences. The building is a lovely historical place, but inside feels sterile and not Japanese at all. The downstairs area had an old fat smell to it, that thankfully was not in the dining area.
Priced in the higher range for this style of restaurant in Sydney, the quality of the food was much lower. The seafood was nice, but the 'extras' on our set menu were so basic. Minimal vegetable, no egg, and the rice smelled like dirty cloth. Most disappointing was the meat - not in Japan, or anywhere else in the world that I have enjoyed teppanyaki, have I had fatty beef. Yes, I know wagyu has fat, but It was chunks of fat on my little bite-sized bits of steak. The chef also served up the fat off-cuts, which I'm sure people enjoy, but why it was also on the rest of the steak I don't know.
Way too much money to spend to be left feeling disappointed in the food.
The best in Sydney!
The best teppenyaki in Sydney! We keep coming back for more. The food is amazing, fresh and high-quality. It's such a great dining atmosphere with lovely chefs and staff who goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best dining experience. Most of all, the customer service is first-class. We'll definitely keep coming back.

We have been to the rocks teppanyaki countless times and have never been disappointed. We often have a voucher for one of the set menus and have enjoyed every single course. The flaming special number 1 is our absolute favourite. The service is always excellent, especially Daniel (maitre d). He always makes us feel so welcome and special.

Its hard to believe how bad the food was.
I had the vegan menu which basically consisted of a few fried veges, a thimbleful cup of cauliflower soup, fried rice of sorts, a huge plate of cold tofu and a dessert of an eighth of a banana on an inedible small crepe with a teaspoon of ordinary ice cream.
Fine dining no! My 12 year old grandson could have prepared a better meal. It was shocking.
Fine dining price, Mcdonalds quality
I couldn't have picked a worse dining experience for the money than this restaurant. It was 100% pathetic.. It was my birthday today, which we let the staff know. They cooked one piece of protein and some veggies, no show, no knife skills, no personality. Simply meat cooked on a grill, a side dish and it cost $160 for 2 adults and one child. While I understand that location matters, at least try to make an effort.. I have had better meals which were frozen from Woolworths and cost 2% of the price.
We should have taken notice of the sign above. I would suggest you do the same.
No show, cold and bland food!
No show, cold and bland food!
The Chef showed up about 45 minutes late, they knew this was going to happen but lied about it. Grossly overpriced, unseasoned food, cold soup, absolutely no entertainment which was expected for a teppanyaki restaurant. Completely let Sydney down!!
DO NOT come to this restaurant, it is truly awful!
Average food for an extravagant price tag
My partner took me to dinner at The Rocks Tepanyaki and we left rather disappointed. We chose the seafood menu and added a lobster tail each for $38 per lobster. We wanted sparkling with our food and were horrified to note that the least expensive bottle was $82. The seafood was OK but for this expense, I expected way better. The bill was over $200 and that was WITH the 25% off on my Entertainment Card! We won't be back.
