Had a great time here! Fun Dallas atmosphere.
My family really enjoyed the cactus fries, which was definitely unique and fun for those from North Carolina! The beer can hen was also a great experience and very tender and moist. The taco platter was flavorful and I would order it again. The only thing that was disappointing was that the restaurant 86'ed 3 of their cocktails, and the waitress had a difficult time naming similar drinks to replace the ones they were out of. That comes with experience though. Overall, we enjoyed our time here!
Be the first to ReplyTried the new brunch today and these are my thoughts.
I like the crunch of the cucumber salad but I prefer the other salad much more. I like the Moya's over the frittata from the old menu. I highly disliked the biscuit and gravy. The gravy didn't have flavour and the biscuit wasn't even a biscuit it like a ball of raw dough. I prefer the old cheesy potatoes much better (they are my favorite) the chicken, bacon and French toast was good as usual same with the little sweet plate.
Be the first to ReplyNot accommodating to service animals.
Outside seating poorly planned, no sun cover. Over priced menu for what you're getting.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was amazing but the service was beyond terrible.
After waiting 20 minutes to get seated, we waited another 15 before I went to the hostess to attempt to find our server. Another 10 minutes goes by & one swings by to let us know that he's ours. Had to ask for refills & got our bar order at the end of the meal. Get our bill & instead of gratuity, it says something else about non drink which I assume is their systems way of hiding it. Overall not impressed even though the live music was a plus!

The food was great, the drinks were really good and our server (Xavier) was outstanding! A 10 out of 10 experience!! We would definitely recommend this spot. Give Xavier a raise!
Be the first to ReplyGreat service.
Waitress (Aly B) was very friendly and attentive. Made great suggestions for dinner. The appetizer was amazing. And so was dinner.
Be the first to ReplyThis spot is in Uptown Dallas was a nice spot to chill.
Highly recommend their brisket burger and spicy margarita! Their chicken sandwich and pork quesadillas water delicious too.. great selection of cocktails and drinks and live band in the outside seating was nice...

So good I ate here twice during my last work trip to Dallas! For lunch I got the Joe Leo tacos and when I came back for dinner I got the Beer Can Chicken! The peanut butter pie was also amazing and was great for sharing with my group. I really enjoyed sitting outside and listening to live music on stage. Even thought we were there until closing time, the staff was attentive and provided great service. I definitely recommend to anyone visiting Dallas.

Stopped at the door and was discriminated against by who could possibly be the front house manager or one of the host. Was asked and told aggressively before I even entered the door of restaurant completely "ONLY PAYING CUSTOMERS ARE ALLOWED" and then continued to be questioned (btw several people went inside before and after me i was the only one approached). Ive never been there before then and i don't know any of them and gave no reason or suspicion I was there for trouble I only wanted a meal....This was discrimination and racial profiling. I was offered a apology and a seat after I pulled out my phone and started recording . The host who witnessed didn't care at all these young ladies were going to stand by and watch a injustice happen if they heard the original situation or not they heard my response and scoffed at me like i was wrong. Finally two gentlemen who I think were managers one being black and the other white tried fixing the situation (I assume they were offering a free meal if not how insulting) I declined either way and I am never returning. i said because it seems the manager will be reviewing the camera and handling the situation i wont sue but by that i meant remove the gentlemen who discriminated against me before he does the same to others. If that wont happen then what i asked to be addressed hasn't and there for i might explore those options and have to report this to the department of justice and etc... not to black mail at all, but to ensure this never happens to anyone again at least remove him from all contact with any guest he is a liability to your restaurant. I appreciate his apology but it wasn't genuine he only apologized because he got caught...I have some video and so does the restaurant. Thank you for the two managers who intervened and showed respect please update me with good progress on this issue and i will remove this 100% true review
Be the first to ReplyI was on a first date in Dallas yesterday at The Rustic.
I just moved from Houston and had been to The Rustic there and thought it would be a great place for a first date. Justin was our waiter and was literally the most attentive waiter I've ever had. Never were our water glasses even remotely empty and he was helpful in food/drink recs and overall incredibly friendly. At the end of the date, he asked if we had any food allergies and then brought over the most delicious peanut butter pie to welcome me to Dallas. Overall, the date went well and Justin helped seal the deal. Loved the service and we will definitely be back
Be the first to ReplyI have been to the Rustic multiple times.
The food is always great and the staff is awesome. The wait staff and the manager (Taylor) were such a pleasure to deal with. My dining experince was amazing. Thank you for great times!
Be the first to ReplyOnly had one vegetarian option of the entire menu.
Food was mid, but the service was nice. It's a nice place to go for drinks but the quality is average at best.
Be the first to ReplyFirst let me say $15 onion rings are excessive.
We ended up there on a Thursday night - two Mom 's and our 2 teen daughters just wanting to try out the place for dinner. Our server could NOT have made it any more obvious that she did NOT want to wait on us. She was put out by every single thing we asked for.... And I mean not ONE smile... And not even ONE "You're welcome" to our "Thank you" for every single request. It was painful. The food was okay. My friend got Mac n cheese and it was really good. Everything else was overpriced and delivered with the worst attitude. We will not be back.
Be the first to ReplyCool place, cool atmosphere, good food.
Will definitely be back. Service was great even though they were busy. Thanks!
Be the first to ReplyI always enjoy myself when I visit The Rustic.
The outdoor patio is very spacious, with plenty of seating and a stage for bands. The prices here are very reasonable for the quality of the food. I also really enjoy that you can page your server from your table using a button. The drinks are also great here. The have a large beer selection and creative cocktails. The Moscow mule and the frozen margaritas were particularly delicious. The desserts are to die for, especially the banana pudding. Make sure you share it though or you'll go into sugar overload.

The family-style brunch is my favorite meal here! I highly recommend. I also enjoy the spaciousness of the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyNot impressed nor satisfied.
I had a waitress that no longer wanted to serve me for idk what reasons. I mean i did tell her I didn't like the lemon drop because it tasted so tart. When I ordered my food I wanted the salmon burger but I guess they didn't have no salmon. No problem I'll get something else. After we ordered the waitress wouldn't even look our way nor check on us. Meanwhile we're trying to figure out why she's checking in with all the other tables but us. "We'll i guess I'll never know". This place is a no go for me again. But then again from the aesthetics I'm quite sure they didn't want my kind in there anyway. Oh and I forgot to mention, I had to eat my food cold because I needed sauce but she never checked on us so after two bites I was done. I mean i could go on but I won't. I hope you enjoy your experience

It's like a poor mans Katy Trail Icehouse without reasonable prices. The music sucks almost always, service is trash, you can hear the highway, the food is mediocre at best, and drinks come out sloooooooow... Hard pass.
Be the first to ReplyI was in town for our sales meeting.
What a fun place to have a casual dinner. The outside patio was great as well as the inside dining area / bar was fun and clean. The food tasted well and they have a nice selection of beer and drinks available. Our server seemed new and forgot a few of our orders but that was ok. If I'm ever back in the area I would stop again.
Be the first to ReplyThe rustic is a great go to spot for out of town guests.
Very Texas vibe, large menu to satisfy everyone, and they always seem to have live music.I was disappointed by the brunch though. Service was very slow and I felt like since we were sitting outside the waiter might have actually forgotten about us. We had to flag him down every time we needed something which was annoying. We ordered the mimosas and the champagne tasted like it had gone bad, it was not drinkable! Also, the yogurt parfait from the brunch set menu was missing. Instead of replacing it they just said sorry, you dont get it today. I felt like it should have been replaced or comped by something else since the cost was the same.

I have frequently gone here with friends and colleagues for happy hour as well as dinner. They have very solid appetizers, the house made chips as well as the queso/cheese balls, meatballs, and deviled eggs are all delicious and we order them every time we go. They have a decent beer selection and a fair portion on draft. Their craft drinks such as the old fashioned and lemon drop martini are also good, but steer away from the espresso martini. The main courses can be a bit more hit or miss. Personally I like to order the tamales three ways in place of an entree. They are not what I would call true tamales, more like soft cornbread with meat and sauces, but it is still delicious.Great ambience and excellent service. Definitely recommend.
