The menu changes regularly (generally with seasonal availability of ingredients) and is well curated with an appealing variety. The food is very well prepared and imaginative with attention given to clever and unique plating/presentation. Service is excellent. From the warm greeting at the door, to the well trained wait staff, to the informative but not pretentious explanations of the food, to the helpful and friendly bus staff, everybody is kind and on-their-marks. I especially appreciate how each course is served precisely - the dishes are placed in unison, oriented so they have the best presentation, and silverware and wine glasses are matched appropriately. The Sea has a wide selection of wines and a nice variety of craft cocktails. For those who prefer to dine outdoors, they have expansive seating that is pleasant, quiet with a nice ambience and service is still spot-on.

A nice place for special occasions.
Good food, great service and awesome desserts. Video: <a href="/redir?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2FCHsbZFlsfzU&s=e6f078ecd2c3cdc9ca1c5324d02f0fbbb62f62a4a5e006c718488eef6f5a95aa" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">youtu.be/CHsbZFlsfzU</a>Here's what we ordered: Joh. Bapt. Schรคfer Riesling and Strawberry Jubilee - both good Wagyu Flat Iron - it's ok, didn't like the bordelaise and the corn tempura was interesting. Overall this dish felt a bit heavy. Grilled Catch of the Sea - the fish and caramelized cauliflowers were good Truffle fries - a little too heavy on the truffle aioli this time, usually it's really good Seasonal Vegetables - very good, mix of brussels sprouts, green beans and carrots Pretty in pink (Lychee panna cotta) - delicious! light and silky Rise n' Shine (mandarin soufflรฉ) - my favorite! super fluffy and really good with the vanilla creme anglaise Their house bread basket is so good and I wish I can take a basket home!

Came her for a company party and then had to come back with my friends. People may say it's overrated but for the price the quality of food does not disappoint one bit. The drinks are also top tier definitely recommend if you're planning on dressing up

Been to Alexanders in Cupertino many times but decided to
Been to Alexanders in Cupertino many times but decided to come to The Sea to celebrate my mom's big 60th birthday specifically to try the tasting menu. Unfortunately when we got there, we read the fine print that only 6 people maximum can order the tasting menu. We were a party of 8 so we kindly asked if the chef would be okay with a party of 8 all doing the tasting menu. They said the chef was too busy (it was a Tues night), but we understand. Since my mom really wanted to try the tasting menu, my husband and I decided we would get a separate private two person table nearby and not eat with the family so that it could be a 6 party table and that she can try the tasting menu. But we were told we couldn't do that, which I don't understand why. It would've been two separate checks and if they were worried about us trying the tasting menu, they could've made someone watch over us for all I care but what is the logic in that?? Made no sense to me and it really ruined a night of celebration. My mom never got to try the tasting menu, and we were all pretty disappointed. Wish The Sea could've been a bit more understanding and accommodating.

I am absolutely love this restaurant! We came here to celebrate our anniversary on a Saturday with a reservation at 7:30pm. They sat us down right away after we checked in. They have different menus for wine, food, and desserts. They also gave us an anniversary card, which was super sweet. Since it was our anniversary, they gave us complimentary champagne and our waiter helped me decide which wine I wanted to try. My bf ordered an old fashion and I got the Riesling white wine. The drinks came out pretty quick. The breads came out after, it was a combination of housemade lobster biscuits, sesame mini croissants and crackers. Lobster biscuits was our favorite. It was super flavorful and soft. The rest was alright since I don't like crackers that much. For food, we got the lobster rocks, hamachi shots, seared scallops and medium rare wagu ribeye along with truffle fries. Everything was so delicious!!! My waiter was the best, she checked on us often and gave us details of each dish. After our meals, we ordered a pretty in pink for dessert and they also give us complimentary anniversary cake and cotton candy! Overall this is prob my fav restaurant so far! I would come back here to celebrate other events like birthday or holidays!

Amazing flavors for each dish.
Reservations is booked few weeks in advance for any special occasions otherwise you will not be able to get a spot. The food was really good. Love the scallops and wild mushrooms.

A solid dining experience with high quality ingredients,

A solid dining experience with high quality ingredients, delicious dishes, and robust drinks menu, despite the uneven service and gruff maitre d. The family and I stopped in for a 530PM outdoor deck seating. Was welcomed by a nice young lady at the table and promptly escorted to the table by a gruff gentleman. No "welcome" or obligatories provided. Charming! (/s). Sat us down and when I inquired about a high chair for the littlest one, he roughly grumbled "we don't DO high chairs" as he hurriedly walks away. Last I would see of this warm gentleman (and certainly one I can do without the next time I come). One may take away that young children are not necessarily barred nor welcomed at this establishment (though there were a number of parents with kids at this Sunday evening). The outdoor deck is well-covered to be insulated from the elements but still cool. 2x Heat lamp coverage at each table was ample - scorching was how I'd describe it. Drinks ordered of a light Pilsner, yuzu lemonade, and a couple passion fruit yuzu Mexican sprite (nonalcoholic) cocktails. Did the crab popcorn, yuzu tuna tartare and octopus. Quite delicious! The crab popcorn was solid lump crab meet and fresh - no "sea" stink. The tuna tartare was absolutely lovely that was elevated by the yuzu drips. I especially liked the tender, delectable grilled octopus - could have done without those beans on the plate, however. Mains were the catch of the day - a Japanese snapper which was absolutely lovely - over a bed of cauliflower. I had the miso black cod that was executed beautifully and was perfectly moist, oily, and savory-sweet. I especially liked the little seared rice cubes. Amazing. Had mac and cheese, haricot verts, and ANOTHER round of crab popcorn. Yes they are that good.Rounded the evening off with some mochi doughnuts - just fine. The panna cotta was absolutely amazing! Too damn small but a nice clearance for the palate. Of course, the Alexander close of Apple cotton candy - kids loved the sight though too sugary for my taste. I neglected to the mention a quite unmemorable amuse bouche. It was I believe a little round sushi of soggy seaweed and rice with some salmon? Was the weakest item of the evening.Service was quite uneven. Good when it came but sporadically distributed. We had a nice male server but he seemed to be stretched both indoors and outdoors. A woman came by to drop off waters and breads. There was a soft spoken gentleman who would bring plates and decrumb between appetizer and mains but seemed annoyed when I made any inquiry. I also witnessed a lot of other folks congregated indoors. There were times where we were done and just waiting to order the next round... used plates were stacked, waters unfilled, and attention... just a bit wanting. Again, perhaps this was due to us having children at the table and not welcome? Perhaps. On balance it was still a solid $400 meal (pre tip 25%) with quality on the plate and good service but which was provided a bit sporadically - took us 2.5hours to get in/out. We will definitely be back for the food but will likely leave the kids behind so we might be a bit more welcomed at the establishment.

Started great ended poorly
I am on a business trip alone, working long hours and I really wanted to take myself out for a nice dinner. But unfortunately, that is not how this story ends. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were amazing along with the food. It ended with a rude hostess who made me feel uncomfortable and silly for asking the time the restaurant opens for the following dinner. Who knew I was an idiot for having to ask?! Next, walked outside and was greeted by the valet who I remarked to that the night would have ended better if I didn't have a rude comment from the hostess. Well, the valet also decided to yell out rude comments and make me feel even less wanted. For an expensive restaurant with a tab of nearly $150 for a single person you would hope to have fine dining experience from all employees. Thank you to my lady and male bartender up until the end it was pleasant.

Absolutely phenomenal! No kidding, you have to add this
Absolutely phenomenal! No kidding, you have to add this steakhouse for your next special dining choice. Celebrated our 4 year anniversary dinner and without hesitation, it was well worth it! The staff was extremely attentive and courteous but also personable. We've been to other high end restaurants and while the service is amazing, it's been on the serious straight to the point service. Food and Drinks - amazing! Everything was cooked to perfection. For starters, we received complimentary Prosecco to toast our night out. Ordered the "Lobster Rocks" and "Crab Puffs" - both delicious but the lobster rocks were def one of a kind. For the main course, the Waugh Rib-Eye (chef's kiss)! Along with the Shishito Peppers and Lobster Fried Rice. The peppers added the perfect balance for our meal and definitely would order again. Overall, 10/10 recommend! From David and I, we truly appreciated how attentive and unique the service was to make sure our night was special.

Went for wife's birthday.
Service was excellent. Waiters knowledgeable and attentive. Food was good but expected better for the $$$$. Disappointed that they don't enforce their dress code. Guy next to us wearing jeans, t shirt, and baseball cap! Guess they wanted his $. Plenty of better restaurants for the money. Won't go again.

Most expensive anniversary dinner ever, but it was nice to
Most expensive anniversary dinner ever, but it was nice to go out for a special night! We opted for an appetizer and the tasting menu by YuMin Lin which cost $195 per person including four dishes and dessert. We felt like divers exploring of sea sampling all its fruits, finally reaching land to...find ourselves suddenly in Japan! The dishes were collectively weaved into a tale, connected by umami!Service: 10/10. We were checked in very often by service staff and offered complimentary Prosecco and a beef amuse bouche sushi-style roll which captured the essence of beef, texture and umami! I think this was my favorite overall food of the night as I enjoyed the richness of the beef and the crunchiness of the roll the most.Bread bowl: 8/10. sesame crackers, sesame croissants, lobster biscuits with butter - all fresh as if they came right out of the oven! Appetizer: truffle fries 6/10. A strong truffle smell immediately wafted from the fries with a generous portion of parmesan grated on top. The truffle aioli was a true marriage with the fries. The smell was pretty strong and did sometimes "clash" with the odors of the other dishes we picked. This was our fault for ordering it. Main courses: 1. Japanese Yellowtail Sashimi with sea urchin, radish, yuzu: 8/10. this was my favorite dish as it highlighted the seafood. The uni was rich and creamy, and the yuzu added some brightness to the yellowtail and overall dish.2. Seared scallop with truffle, squash, vinegar, and lime. 9/10. This was my fiancรฉ's favorite as the scallops were large with good texture. I liked trying the scallops with the different sauces of the plate and took some bites with/without truffle. The fun was in trying new/different bites!3. Seared Mero Sea Bass with kale, radish, paprika, melon: 7/10. the sear was good and crispy but tender inside. The flavor was not too strong, although what I wish would have been present was more of the lemon/citrus flavors. The (baked?) stiff kale presented a delightful texture change that contrasted the softness of the bass.4. Grilled Wagyu Tajima with asparagus, mushrooms, artichoke: 9/10. the Wagyu Tajima was very flavorful with great seasoning. I opted for the Miyazaki A5 upgrade which was $80 more. The A5 was tender with each bite bursting with juice. I did find the Tajima it was originally paired with more flavorful. The asparagus, mushrooms and artichoke were each cooked to perfection and paired well with the smooth squash sauce.5. Banana Cream Puff with butterscotch, vanilla cream, candied pecans, banana ice cream: 8/10. This had a choux au craquelin texture that was super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and overall a mild dessert which I needed after the strong flavors of the Wagyu meat. The vanilla tasted like it was room temperature while the ice cream was cold, so the two contrasting temperatures made for an interesting sensation. Complimentary dessert and vanilla cotton candy were provided after the meal which was a very nice gesture. We appreciated The Sea for the amazing service and a special night!

Maybe it's because I haven't had a nice meal in so long
Maybe it's because I haven't had a nice meal in so long because of well, the pandemic, but this was a fantastic meal. We celebrated hubbie's birthday. Our server and rest of the staff were attentive and friendly Bread basket was plentiful and warm Apps: We tried the grilled octopus, lobster rocks and uni. All were delicious but the highlight was the uni and brioche Entrees: The special grilled fish of the day was red snapper - simple but prepared well, Scallops done 2 ways, Wagyu ribeye - all satisfying. They even gave us complimentary lobster fried rice which was a nice surprise Soufflรฉ was perfect
Its been a long while since our last visit to The Sea by Alexander's and it was the same exceptional level of service and quality of food!! Price is a little on the high side but we had a lovely evening!! We made a reservation and requested Grand Marnier Souffle for my birthday dessert on my reservation. We decided to dine at the bar and watch the second half of the Warrior's game. Greeted by the manager right away, inform him our birthday reservation, he got me a birthday card and two glasses of Champagne to toast!! Very nice!!! We went with all the appetizers, Hamachi shots, dozen of Oysters, Tuna Tartare..The flavors was amazingly delicious!! Lobster Rocks was so crispy outside and tender inside. Popcorn crab was so yummy and the crab inside was so sweet. Grilled Octopus was tender and lemony. Uni was just ok. I prefer its cold and fresh. Then came my Grand Marnier Souffle and a birthday chocolate mouse cake!!!! So nice of them to be able to accommodate my request without any issue!!!
From time to time the manager came and ask if everything was good, same with the bartender!! Love, love, love The Sea by Alexander's!!! We came here for our friends' company Xmas party. There was no parking space. The soup was lukewarm. The steak was too salty and dry. The dessert and coffee was not even worth trying. Very disappointed.
