This restaurant is truly remarkable, it's situated in the beautiful market town of Stamford. The food is just wonderful, the service amazing and such a great location. Myself and my 3 daughters had a lovely few hours sat on the balcony in the sun.

We visited last night for an evening meal in the restaurant. Food was amazing, venue, ambience and decor lovely and staff very attentive and friendly. Could not fault anything, good price for superb food. Highly recommend the beef carpaccio, venison and salted caramel creme brulee. Very nice for any occasion. Thank you we will be back soon!

Consistently great food

Took my wife, daughter and her friend here in January and I was so impressed by the ‘Fine Dining’ experience upstairs I booked to take 2 other couples in March. Once again it was brilliant.

What I love about this place is it is small and cosy but feels like a private club, the menu is not huge so they focus on a few things really well, food is well priced and excellent, the wine list extensive enough but the staff are just a joy - we had such good fun.

I would particularly recommend the Carpaccio (£10.95) or Thai Spiced Crab (£9.95) to start, followed by Duck (£17.95) or Venison (£19.95) - the Monkfish also looked delicious.

Only watch out is not to arrive too early for your table as there is no space in the downstairs bar to stand if your table is not ready - we arrived 15 mins early and were bruskly told by the barman to leave and come back later - so we walked to a nearby pub in the rain and waited politely :-)

Have booked again to try Sunday lunch - looking forward to it.

Visited the Slanted Door after good recommendations and it’s a shame it didn’t live up to its reviews. Staff were rude and distracting- maybe we got put on a bad table next to the bar but we could hear all internal conversations, including those that were about other customers and not nice ones either. Food was okay, nothing special. Rice in the sushi and arancini extremely over cooked. Shame really.

We have visited here two times now and both times the food has been excellent. This is a must try if you are in Stamford. The only improvement would be an online booking system.

Had such a marvellous visit to the slanted door yesterday evening. Great Food, remarkable design and even better staff.
The overall presentation was full of design and flavour, it was cosy and quirky, the food was fast paced and the drinks kept flowing. Was served by a lady Tia, she was cheerful and affectionate and ensured we had everything to carry us through the evening.

Lovely lady in Simply Stamford recommended it to us. We gave her a selection of the places we were choosing from. Met up with friends and lucky to get in. Upstairs really nice seating arrangement, lovely friendly staff and wonderful food. We had the small plates on the lunch offer for starters between us. Beautifully presented and unusual. Prawn toasts, beef sliders ,chicken lollipops. Lamb kofta main dish was so tasty. Friends Thai curry looked amazing too. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Stopped for lunch half way to Gatwick and so glad we did
We had 3 “small plates” plus the best Caesar salad we’ve ever tasted. Braised beef just fell apart and had a lovely oriental flavoured sauce, chicken lollipops were very tasty and the mini beef sliders were juicy. But the salad was amazing!!
Good bottle of house Rioja very reasonably priced
Sarah looked after us so well, we had a fabulous time - we are probably going to call again on our return!!

Amazing cocktails and service

My partner and I went here for the first time at the start of the week and we’ve been in everyday since. This Friday night was amazing - we had a great waitress called Tia who went out of her way to make sure we had enough drinks and we were happy with anything. Couldn’t fault a single thing, food and drinks were absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait for our next visit!!

Positives
Exceptional service from our primary server, Tia, who kindly assisted me in pairing a new red wine with my main course.
There is a separate vegan/vegetarian menu.
The crème brulé with salted caramel ice cream was fantastic and would highly recommend.
The duck breast with celeriac and cheesy croquettes is also delicious!

Negatives
Some tables are very close together with little privacy (and not great for COVID).

Overall
Lovely meal. Would return. We tipped our secondary server after the meal and hope it was distributed accordingly between Tia and the team.

Best Answer Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Best Answer Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Best Answer Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

It's fine if the sellers are just individuals that can't use the reservation. But just curious: 1. What's preventing people from creating lots of email accounts and write a script to book all the reservations FOR FREE then resale it here? 2. Since restaurants can be partners, can they benefit from the bidding? If so wouldn't this just be ridiculous? So a restaurant can sell reservations just like selling a ticket? And customers not only need to pay for the reservation also need to pay for the meal?

Once you place your bid, all sellers with a connection to the venue will start to work on fulfilling your desired time and date of the reservation. This process can be instant or may take a few days as most locations are either fully booked or hard to get! Stay tuned!

Best Answer Hey @HolisticQuestion30, whenever a bid expires, can't be filled or is cancelled by you, your funds are deposited in your AppointmentTrader Main Account in real time so you can use them for another bid instantly and don't have to carry multiple authorizations on your credit card for a number of days. You can access the funds with the credit card number that is shown next to your main account (labeled 'Show Card Number'). The real-time access is also true for any funds you earn from selling or reselling a reservation. You can use this card-number at any place online that accepts credit cards. (Currently limited to USD, multi currency support is planned.) AT is currently working on implementing a push-to-debit function, if you would like funds sent to your bank account before this feature is live, please email support [AT] appointmenttrader.com The team is usually very responsive and happy to assist with bridging any tech gap with their service :-)
