First Class
Wow, what can I say. The Slanted door was incredible. We dined from their new dinner menu and the quality, presentation and taste was amazing. The staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable about the new menu which is a bonus nowadays. The building is presented superbly and is decorated beautifully. Easy the best restaurant in Stamford. Finally the cocktails and wine list is first class. Must have the largest wine menu in the area and reasonably priced as well. A must for anyone visiting Stamford. Book well in advance as itโs a busy vibrant place especially in the evening.
Good food but overall experience impacted by a loud voice
This was our first visit to The Slanted Door. We were celebrating a special occasion. The restaurant was nicely decorated. Our food was very good but our overall experience was not what we had hoped. Although we were sat upstairs a man who we took to be the owner or manager was sat downstairs making phone calls and talking almost the entire time we were in the restaurant. His voice was so loud it could be clearly heard upstairs and was intrusive. Service was slow at times and having taken an interest in the menu we asked a couple of questions about the food. Our server said she would find out but never came back with the answer. When it came to paying we asked for the bill and having got that no one returned. In the end having waited too long we went downstairs to pay. All of the issues raised could be easily addressed but we have no plans as paying guests to return to find out.

Fab restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide wine and cocktails list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone!

Went on Saturday evening with my friend, we been lucky enough to get a bar table as this place is always fully booked, arrived for warm professional welcome , to be honest the bar is just opposite the door few steps away , how should be everywhere, you step in you donโt need to looking for anyone, no awkward situation, they welcome you and show you the table with wine menu drink menu etc , To be honest as a restaurant manager and ex cruise ship crew I am kind of fussy for small details, this place is faultless,the Decor you can see clearly they did not try to save money to get cheap wallpaper or cheap bathroom tiles in the toilet, the restaurant clear and look after , , - Food , I believe Damian Clarke the best chef in the area , his menu is fantastic as is use to be in Ryhall wicked witch restaurant years ago , not gonna lie his name is guaranteed for fantastic food , Staff - very professional, hard worker , polite but funny , nothing too much trouble, Reasonable price , we have a great evening, Clearly the best restaurant in Stamford area , Different level than all the Turkish grill food , and restaurant, if this place was somewhere in small village in the listed building with fire place ,easily could get Michelin award or a * , thanks for the great evening guys ,
Excellent food and service
The food is beautifully presented. We had mostly fish and vegetarian dishes. Good wine list and nice surroundings. The waitress didnโt know full details about the menu but not a big problem.
Poor customer service
After a fabulous dining experience at THE COSY CLUB in Stamford, we went on for drinks and happened upon The Slanted Door. We asked for a drinks table and were seated by waitresses at a tall table just inside the door on the left. Since it was my husbandโs birthday, we decided to have cocktails and began to peruse the menu. Five minutes later, the door flew open and in stormed an agitated man who marched to the bar. He rounded on us and shouted at us across the diners, โYou canโt sit there!โ We stared at him thinking he was a customer, however when he continued to berate us for sitting on โA table just for diningโ, we realised to our shock that he was a member of staff! Then, after I had asserted that we had been seated there by his staff, he continued to insist we were in the wrong as his staff โDidnโt know we shouldnโt sit there!โ. Worse still, he went on to put it to the public vote and announced loudly to our fellow customers, โDoes anyone mind these people sitting here?โ. Puzzled and surprised, everyone stared at him and agreed that we were quite welcome to our table! However, by this time, we had drawn the conclusion that we certainly didnโt want it and wouldnโt be staying! The man in question was informed that he had been most rude and lacked customer service skills, he didnโt care one bit. He seemed perfectly happy that the establishment didnโt need new customers, obviously they have enough already? Needless to say, if you want a relaxed and happy evening out this is not the place for you! My husband and I, along with our two adult daughters took our custom elsewhere and continued our fabulous evening at THE WINEBAR in Stamford, that was very welcoming and enjoyable ๐

What can I say. Fantastic food, amazing atmosphere in a truly lovely town. This restaurant ticks every box. Fantastic wine list.
Favourite place on our weekend
We were visiting Stamford for a weekend and ate in a range of restaurants and, while all were mostly very nice, The Slanted Door was easily our favourite. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, and they made a real effort to have a real chat with us. This definitely helped with the lovely cocktails! I donโt know if itโs the ingredients or the alcohol they use, but they really were a cut above the (many) others we had over our weekend. Food was also exquisite. Beautifully presented with flavour to match. Both of us left feeling really satisfied. If Iโm ever back in Stamford Iโll definitely be returning, and I wouldnโt mind trying the roast, too.

Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered? |
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
