Amazing service and the food!!!! Francisco thank you for
Amazing service and the food!!!! Francisco thank you for the amazing drinks. Definitely going back :)
Be the first to ReplyMy wife and I had a date night here last night.
We started off with the Imperial Rolls and they were the highlight of my night. They were delicious! Each roll packs a punch of shrimp and pork. The crispiness of the roll plus the lettuce wrap adds a nice balance to the texture. For our main, we had Roasted Duck and Shaking Beef. The Roasted Duck was okay. I liked the juiciness of the meat but I was expecting the skin to be much more crispy. The Shaking Beef on the other hand was tasty. The beef itself was cooked to a warm medium rare. The meat did taste a little gamey but the fish sauce bordelaise neutralizes that edge. Overall the food here is good. Was it worth $175? Probably not but it was well worth the experience. I loved the ambiance and the service was good.Side note: I think the 20% Service Charge is also distasteful. As someone who put myself through college by waiting tables, 20% is always a minimum for me and this makes me less inclined to tip more. For this service charge to be shared with the kitchen staff seems like a lazy way for upper management to pair an unfair wage -- but hey, the food and service were good so that's a-ok.

We've been to the SF locations many moons ago so we wanted to get to this location near home. We booked last minute and got an outdoor table but ended up inside at the bar because it was too cold (and empty) outside. The bar was just fine and it was cool to see the action of the kitchen. The bartender was very attentive and suggested some fun cocktails/mocktails. The manager (?) took our order and made some edits to our choices which was welcomed. Overall, the food was fine... very tasty but I was not impressed by it. The value wasn't there for both food and ambience. However, having said this, my overall impression is still great because the service was awesome and my company was the best :-)What we had:The sashimi was my favorite. High quality fish and topped with delicate trimmings that balanced the taste perfectly. I'd go back for just this.Crispy vegetarian spring roll. This was good too. But nothing out of this world. Crispy duck. Very good but the sauce didn't move me. I think the sauce was a bit bland and deeded a bit more pop of flavor.Shaking beef. We were initially going to go for the rib eye but the manager (?) who took our order said we needed to go with the shaking beef. I did have this before in SF before so I thought why not again! Super smooth beef and very tasty. I'd order this again as well.Like I said, we had a great time. Overall was great; just not fantastic as I didn't think the value was there.

My wife visited their Fisherman's wharf location years ago, and raves about the clay pot chicken. So flew from houston to visit but was closed. Drove to San Ramon, unfortunately, it's not on the lunch menu. But our wonderful waitress, convinced the chef to see if he would make it for us. And we left happy and full. Beautiful establishment, very tranquil. The drinks were amazing, try the organic lemonade. Being from Texas and we love steaks, the shaking beef was cooked to perfection. Hats off to the chef. Very tender and succulent. Also it was seasoned well. Clay pot chicken was very good, my wife was extremely happy.
Be the first to ReplyIt's been a long time since I've been back to Slanted Door.
Giving it 3 solid stars for decent food (really depends on what you order), excellent service and staff, spacious and beautiful ambiance. It's also very family and kid friendly!Would recommend:- Yellowtail appetizer was tasty. Fresh tasting and thick slabs of fish in a flavorful sauce.- The shaking beef does not disappoint. Huge cubes of meat and delicious sautéed vegetables. Great with rice.- The vermicelli noodles with Dungeness crab was good. Pretty mild flavor so recommend using one of their many sauces.- Pineapple spritzer was sooo good. Really refreshing and delicious.Portions are generous, I think. I had leftovers that I took home. Our waitress was also spectacular. She checked in so frequently, was patient in explaining our options, and let us order a few dinner menu dishes for lunch!
Be the first to ReplyStopped by for lunch and didn't have a reservation.
Got seated right away. Was lucky and soon after it filled up really fast. Decided to go full on vegetarian and was absolutely delighted. The Daikon Rice cakes were so delicious. So full of flavor. Had the vegetarian spring rolls. I wasn't a fan. Probably would pass next time. For the entree had the Mapu Tofu. It was so good. Portions were very good and had food left to go. To make it a amazing meal all one needed was amazing service. Tabitha didn't disappoint. She was attentive and amazing. Can't wait to come back. They do add gratuity by default to the bill. If service is this good not a problem.
Be the first to ReplyDecent happy hour from 3-5PM.
We had one of each appetizer on the happy hour menu, the banh nam (banana leaf wrapped rice dumpling with pork, dried shrimp, and fish sauce), and the persimmon galette and citrus coupe (white chocolate mousse, meyer lemon curd, black sesame).Personally, the shrimp and garlic chive dumplings and the crispy imperial rolls were my favorites! We weren't too crazy about the tuna tartare or the desserts, unfortunately. Felt like the tuna tartare needed more sweetness, the persimmon galette had this odd spice flavor. Service was friendly but could have been more attentive. We were seated in the corner by the restroom and it was difficult to get our waitress's attention on multiple occasions. I ended up going over to the counter to ask for the check. There is a 20% auto-gratuity added on, which she mentioned beforehand, which I appreciated.Overall, worth stopping by for happy hour in my opinion. They don't serve the main entrees during happy hour, so would be down to trying during their regular hours in the future.
Be the first to Reply$40 service fee?? Why?? Also food was not very good.
The coffee even came to us luke warm. Ordered dessert and it was stale. How does this place stay open with mediocre food and to boot with a $40 service charge? The couple next to us ordered the fish dish with cauliflower and it was so bad they refused to eat it, complained and left.I ordered the ribs for appetizer and it was cold. It was fine in taste but nothing that I could get at an Asian supermarket food court. My friend and I both ordered the duck and it was dry and again barley warm. This restaurant tried to be upscale with subpar food. Our bill was $271 and I gave a $50 tip to the nice waitress.

Easy reservations on OpenTableSpacious bougie interiorAttentive service But some questionable things that I'm not sure id be backKinda seems like Americanized vietnamese food which isn't as authenticShrimp/chive dumplings had a very off taste, like it wasn't freshCaramelized shrimp was good but also didn't taste freshChicken claypot was super tender, but the seasoning wasn't the best flavorCellophane noodles with crab was greatBanh man was sooo oily, it was more authentic than anything else on the menu but it was very heavy Dessert was also heavy but goodIt was our anniversary and they comped us some champagne! They also tried to seat another couple to the table right next to us when the restaurant was empty and the other couple ended up moving to another table. It was super awkward

Food is always amazing. Service is top notch and the vibes are great with an open air kitchen and Stellar drink list. The pappy is also spectacular and highly exclusive. I recommend the egg rolls, the cod and the ribeye. Yum!!

Don't waste your money here. Most the dishes I ordered was bland. If you enjoy over priced low quality food, this is the spot
