Brickhouse-esque American restaurant with healthy food portions but slightly expensive price tags. The Mac and Cheese + NY strip were a solid 1-2. Roughly $25 a dish. 3.5/5 stars as a lunch spot.

Service was good and friendly. Food was good, especially the starters. I plan to go back.

The food was amazing I got the burger and Prosecco (what a combo I know), but it really was great. I'm not a burger person but I was STARVING and wanted as much food as possible and it was just that. The service was GREAT. I'm a server in Texas and this was just as welcoming and on top of it. Ok our servers name started with an M and she had short hair maybe Melissa? She was so delightful if we had more money to spend I would tip tf out of her. The ambiance was nice, a bit loud but other than that it was a great experience. The prices are a lil much but I loved it.
Be the first to ReplyThis place literally has all my favorite foods.
The apps all taste great. The burgers are fancy Big Macs, but better. Everything here has me coming back more than 1x. Only want them to bring back the delicious hummus
Be the first to ReplyProbably one of the top 3 worst place I've ever eaten at.
Old fashioned was great. The chips with blue cheese and the burrata were good. Salmon tartare was nasty (salmon wasn't fresh and smelled). The burger was dry. I ordered medium rare and the inside was indeed pink, but the meat was dry and tasteless. The WORST burger I've EVER had. McDonald's should get a Michelin star compared to that. Good thing I ordered a side of salad which was good.

We were a drenched mess and were greeted with the kindest people who treated us so well :) Food was fantastic! Everything we ordered was perfect. Will definitely return next time we're in NY.

Casual American Brasserie with multiple locations across New York City, tried the one in Midtown East. Popular brunch spot, however not completely worth the hype. For a sweet dish, we ordered the Vanilla Bean French Toast, dusted with powdered sugar and served with caramelized bananas, which seemed to ruin the dish for us. To help balance it out, as a savory dish we ordered the Steak & Eggs and opted for the ribeye steak. This was bone in, served with mixed greens, hash, and sunny side eggs. The hash was flavorful however the steak was basic and nothing differentiate the steak from other brunch spots. Food looked better than it actually tasted. Definitely should reserve in advance as the restaurant has tendencies to be booked.
Be the first to ReplyI just had the absolute best burger hands down.
It was 60° in the city and we ate outside. I started with a Caesar Salad which was super delicious. Our server was pretty amazing. She bent over backwards to make sure we left satisfied. I'm coming back to this place next time I'm in town.

This restaurant has a lot of great options on the menu that I would like to try. Our waitress provided great service and made sure we were taken care of.

The shrimp grits were fantastic and the beer selection was on point. The menu made it tough to make a decision with lots of tasty options.
Be the first to ReplyI'm gluten free.
The waitress was versed in the menu and was able to explain which appetizers and mains were gluten free vs gluten via cross contamination only vs gluten as an ingredient in the dish. I chose to have the duck wings appetizer which I loved. My husband also liked it. I asked the waitress whether she liked the salmon or chicken. She said the chicken was her favorite so I ordered it and the jus was great. The plates that were gluten free came to the table with little red flags on them. These were for the kitchen staff to know not to put any gluten on a dish with a red flag. The red flags meant "green light" for me to eat! The manager stopped by our table to explain the red flag convention. Being gluten free (but not celiac) all of this was so helpful and made for an enjoyable and truly delicious meal in a lively environment.

Been coming here for years around every 2/3 weeks and I'm so disappointed with the service, over time I've noticed how the employees are moving much slower and taking 20-30 mins just to get my drink order. It's pretty disappointing because i will watch the workers talk and hang out instead of watching around for the numerous customers that are waiting more than 20 mins just to order a drink. I see that the busboys have been more attentive than the waitresses. I've been coming here for a few years and I'm extremely disappointed with the service. 0/10. Will not come back to this location ever again. It's been like this for a few months and it's only got worst.

Huevos rancheros - this was served on a soft taco and with avocado. Delicious but pricey The smith has multiple locations in the city. This one got fairly crowded for breaking as soon as they opened at 930am. Plenty of options for everyone but I don't think the dishes are worth that price!

My boyfriend misplaces his phone and first thing the arrogant gash hostess says is can put a pointless piece of virtue signaling fabric on his mouth, as opposed to assisting him in finding his personal property. RUDE. Piss off and go smell your own farts. Your food isn't worth it.
Be the first to ReplyWent for brunch on sunday and wasn't particularly impressed.
Food was fairly overpriced for what I got. Ordered a burger and it was good but nothing to call home about. The thing that annoyed me most was how the tables were right on top of each other. I understand it is NYC but there wasn't even enough room for me to comfortably slide into my chair. You could easily just join the conversation of the table next to you which was it a little odd. Will prob head to other spots moving forward.
Be the first to ReplyI always love coming to The Smith.
I've been to two locations and this one is my favorite. There's ample seating inside and outside. My friends and I had no problems getting a reservation at 7 on a Saturday. The chips with blue cheese are always a staple but my favorite thing this time was the salmon tartare. It's to die for! I could have eaten 5 orders by myself. Highly recommend. For my meal I had the burger which was cooked exactly how I asked. It was tasty, super juicy and enough fries for the whole table to share. The sticky toffee pudding was an incredible ending to the meal. My 3/5 rating is solely for the service. Our waitress was incredibly slow and never once came back to check on us. She gave us the dessert menu and didn't come back for about 15 minutes to see if we wanted anything.

Must try: Pot of Mussels and Burrata! Why: Mussels in the Chardonnay, dijon and tarragon broth was amazing! Loved dipping the fries (and extra table bread) in the broth. Also loved the Burrata, especially with the toasted almond pesto! We also tried Spicy Salmon Tartare and Crispy Sesame Calamari, which were both really good. I was in a whiskey mood so tried their Triple Threat and Eye Opener, which were both strong and great to sip on throughly my meal. Notes. We had a large party celebrating a birthday so made reservations ahead of time. Appreciate they checked our vaccinations and IDs at entrance. They gave us the back area, which was spacious. We received great service from start to finish.

I added the steak to a salad which was really delicious. I'm not in a rush to go back here, but it's a good option
Be the first to ReplySome of my favorite American food in the city.
Yes it's a bit expensive, but the food and drinks really deliver. I went with two friends and we split a ton of food. We started with their insane mac and cheese (definitely worth it), the calamari (the aioli on top was the highlight), the brussel sprouts (just ok), and the crispy rice with salmon tartare (delicious). For the main my friend and I split the rigatoni all vodka. Honestly some of the best vodka pasta i've had. It was creamy, and suprisngly light. Lastly, we finished off with the sticky toffee pudding and the honeycrisp apple pie. The toffee pudding was amazing. So rich, warm, and carmel-ly. The apple crisp was just ok. It was a bit tougher, and wasn't as gooey as I like apple crisps to be. Their drinks are also great. Highly recommend their espresso martini!

Food is reasonably priced and there's plenty of space
Be the first to ReplyI've always loved The Smith.
Who doesn't? Tried the veggie burger this time around- it's quinoa based and comes with fries. I'd rated it a three out five stars. It was good, but it could have been better and to be fair, I took off the beets, onions , and special sauce. Will I order it again? Yes, but next time I might add some guacamole or avocado to liven the burger a little bit.

I love the ambiance of this location, and I like that they are for sure checking vaccine cards for dinning in! Staff are super prompt and friendly. I was a bit iffy the portions would be enough especially with the Pot of Mussels. It was a perfect and generous amount. Not only will I be coming back because of that but their pasta is something I was left thinking about all week. The texture of the noodles was So good, I have no words left to describe this perfect dish. I trust The Smith to try their other dishes but tbh our party's menu is something I would order again. I look forward to visiting this location again!

Honestly the smith is always a solid choice at any of the locations. They have a great menu that's pretty fairly priced overall, the ambiance is pleasant whether you are there for brunch, dinner, or a quick drink, and the staff is always kind and accommodating. It's a good spot for really any size party, and all age groups. In general, I go to the smith when I'm with a group of people who can't decide where we want to go to eat and everyone is down for standard American fare and they never disappoint. Normally for a restaurant like this I would give them four stars but I'm giving them the full five stars because they are just so consistent every time I've been!
Be the first to ReplyLovely brunch place.
Good selection of food and decent service. The portions are huge so aim to share. The cocktails that I tried (cosmo spritz and espresso martini) were also good. It is a good choice unless you are looking for bottomless.
Be the first to ReplyI'm so impressed with my experience at the establishment.
It started once I pressed reserve in OpenTable. I kid you not, but 15 seconds later I received a phone call to confirm the reservation. Maybe they were in the process of confirming everyone and my name just popped up, but I was impressed nonetheless.I booked a table for 6 on NYE 3 days prior. I couldn't believe my luck that they still had availability! $75 for a prix fixe menu is a steal! Food portions were generous, drinks were excellent and the vibe was definitely festive. The noise level was also tolerable for the entire evening. No need to yell to have a conversation! But the best part was the service! They were so attentive and understanding. I was highly impressed and my night here celebrating NYE far surpassed my expectations. Will definitely come back!
