This was a once or twice in a lifetime event for us.
On our honeymoon we tried the Stonehouse Resto and were so pleasantly surprised. The 500 acres grounds with farm to table produce, the sweeping lemon orchards, the view of the coast! It was endlessly beautiful. We started with a drink and mocktail at the speakeasy, Plough and Angel. It was the first time my new husband found a mocktail he liked that was savory, not sweet. Service was very helpful. I had a wonderful St. Germain Spritz. The dinner and wine list in the Stonehouse was incredible. Our main waiter was very knowledgeable and helped us order. We started with fresh grilled octopus and homemade bread and butter. For the entree, we shared the fresh flown in Dover Sole for two with asparagus and potatoes that was served tableside. The wine list was endless and I was tempted to try a glass of the Yquiem but I'm leaving that for next time (starting at $125/glass). Instead I opted for a 30 year old Tawny Port with a delicious chocolate bittersweet souffle' and my husband had a wonderful lemon tarte made from the Meyer Lemons grown onsite. All in all, we paid $485 including drinks, tips and dinner with dessert for two on April 15, 2024. We are hoping to go for our 5th anniversary.

Sat outside at sunset and listened to the live acoustic guitar. Ordered a perfect martini and enjoyed outstanding service. We had the rack of lamb and Steak Diane. They were perfect... and the mashed potatoes! Oh my god. Worth every penny based on the attention to every detail both in food and service.

SERVICE AND AMBIENCE 10/10 seriously the servers were so patient, so kind, the property is gorgeous, only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the actual food was not that good, and even for a higher end restaurant I would still say the portions were small, I went with a big group and we shared almost the entire menu, and none of us really loved our food and we tried each others, and we're not amazed, don't get me wrong the food isn't horrible just definitely not as good as we were hoping it would be, drinks are bad too, the cocktails tasted either way too strong or watered down, but the speakeasy is super cute but the drinks just weren't good in their either

The staff here is wonderful! The food was delicious! The views were beautiful. I did not have a reservation nor was I a guest, but regardless the staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Celebrating my best friends birthday here was a dream come true. I hope to stay longer in the future. The bananas foster was the cherry on top!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a fantastic way to spend a birthday.
From the gorgeous grounds, unbelievably attentive service (car was waiting for us upon exiting), to the delicious food, Stonehouse and all of San Ysidro Ranch are what I imagine heaven would be like if such a place existed. Well done, Montecito.
Be the first to ReplyWarm inviting atmosphere.
Loved the old world atmosphere. Food was fabulous from appetizers to desserts. Hung out at the speak easy downstairs.

Wow the insufferable hostess on the phone was horrifyingly rude this morning. Not sure how they can train their staff to speak to guests in the way she did. She had no regard for the future of the restaurant as no one would speak to a guest like that if they cared. This was gross and I'll never be back as a local who has been to this restaurant many times (and a wedding at the property). Yuck!

Where do I begin? Our dining experience was the best I have ever experienced. The property was charming and beautiful. The service was outstanding. Every employee made me feel welcome. The food and the drinks were heavenly. I am pretty speechless how great it was. I started off ordering the Smoky bloody margarita. Our server recommended it and did not disappoint. Our appetizer was the calamari and our entrees were the Vegan burger and Chilean Sea Bass. We finished off with the chocolate soufflรฉ. Everything was perfection. Worth every penny.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful ambiance, and amazing food.
Loved the scenery and the quality of the meals ingredients. I felt the soufflรฉ was the best dessert and the baked Alaska was a little underwhelming. The day was windy so the flames went out on the alcohol very quickly and so the dessert had a very strong alcohol taste since none of it burned off.

I've been to this restaurant a few times, and I noticed a common issue that has been consistent with this establishment - unprofessional and unrefined service. They set a table of 4 with 3 plates, so I asked for a 4th. After 3 more times of asking, I finally got the plate. To get water refills, we had to ask 2 more times. Also, we ordered coffee and the waiter brought out empty coffee cups with old coffee stains at the bottom, which meant they were not washed thoroughly and properly. Waiters are not as attentive or trained well. The service here is just not up to par for a high-end restaurant in a 5-star resort. Other than this issue, I really don't have a problem. The restaurant is lovely. It has a beautiful lush garden feel. I've dined here at daytime and nighttime and it's classy and romantic. Food is consistently good with lots of flavors and quality. From yellowtail crudo and calamari to cioppino and steaks- food is overall delicious. Some dishes are better than others and steaks can be overcooked at times, so it can be hit or miss. I would still love to come back here to dine. But they do need to take service more seriously for this type of high-end establishment, especially considering how much it costs. It's very pricey so expect to spend a lot of money.

Our cohort of foodies were pretty happy with the food but I think the service and ambiance of this place almost overwhelms the food...almost :) The location itself is a treat and having never been...let's just say I was kicking myself for not coming here sooner. The grounds are absolutely charming in a way that feels inviting. Don't get this mixed up with casual. There are some strong indicators that this place deals with the well to do on a regular basis. Not being from Santa Barbara and only going by what I can read and research I have to say this was a good choice. You will drop a few of the large coins but it's well worth the price of admission. Some of the highlights include the never ending wine list, the sea urchin, the wedge salad and the john dory fish. The service was first rate and I can't imagine a more perfect evening.I can't wait to come again and maybe sit outside right before sunset!Just FYI, the cocktails are off the chain.Stonehouse is one of those places that will live in my memory for a long time.
Be the first to ReplyUpdate -stellar evening at Stonehouse last night.
Definitely "A" game. Service s always impeccable. Food spot on. I love there are never any "surprises" that are usually not good. During Covid they created a combined menu for Stonehouse that was the best of both restaurants-- the downstairs a little more casual. I love that if you're in the mood for upstairs and the that mood you can get a hamburger or ribs or Korean lettuce cups. Or even steak Diane and special smoked cocktails- go enjoy have fun. I'm

Just absolutely fabulous all around!! One of my favorite experiences ever. Came after a morning at LotusLand. We self parked and had a nice short walk to the restaurant. Request the upper deck! Incredible views!!! Blood orange margarita was delicious and all the food was fresh, flavorful, hot, and just delicious. Service was impeccable. Take time after your visit to admire the artwork and gardens on the property. A must do!! Cant wait to go back!

(Overall: 95% | A) - For the most part, the food quality is very nice and has some elevated takes on classic American dishes. The main draw of the ranch is of course the ranch itself and it is simply breathtaking. The service is beyond well and this is a restaurant that is definitely worth the sightseeing!(Crab Cake: 100% | A+) - This crab cake was exceptionally well made. The crab was sweet and abundant, driving the natural tenderness of the cake. It paired extremely well with the mango and salsa verde, which added much needed acidity to balance the fried component.(Smoked Blood Orange Cocktail: 107.5% | A+) - At the time I tried this drink, it was $33 but well worth it! The cocktail invites fruit filled flavor from the blood orange, which is then smoked tableside to infuse an intense smokiness into the drink. Personally, I would've preferred the drink to be a little sweeter, but the presentation and technique of this drink was flawlessly executed, from the ice to the salt waterfall to the choice of glass! Highly recommend trying your favorite smoked drink of choice as it is a thrilling and unique experience!(Angus Burger: 60% | D) - This problem may be exclusively a me issue as I opted out of the blue cheese sauce, but I felt the burger to be a bit too diner like -- the plating and the burger itself left a lot more to be desired as I am confident that the chef is capable of elevating this classic into something more innovative and exciting. The truffle fries are nicely done though.(Black Lavender Spirit: 90% | A) - I like the fruit flavor coming from this spirit -- its fruity without being overpowering. The mint is a dangerous infusion, but was a surprisingly moderate flavor that nicely complemented the drink.(Fresh Bread and EVOO: 97.5% | A) - The bread is soft, phenomenal, and absorbs the flavorful extra virgin olive oil like a sponge! Very lovely high quality bread!(Maple Glazed Salmon: 62.5% | D) - At such a refined establishment, one would hope for the quality of food to match. Unfortunately for this dish, the salmon was overcooked and a bit dry. Additionally, the plating here does not make sense unless the greens cover the salmon as if it was an attempt to hide the dryness. The redeeming factor here is that the wild rice and other sides that paired with the dish is pretty decent. However, the main ingredient of this dish is by far lacking.(Kobe Beef Slider: 92.5% | A) - A kofe beef patty paired with flavorful caramelized onions, a handcrafted bun and a secret sauce that adds some bold flavor to the dish! The sliders are well made and pairs well with a refreshing apple, fennel slaw, which is reasonable given the luxurious price point. However, I do feel that there is room for people presentational improvements to match the price point sand quality of food, especially as the slaw collapsed on the plate.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is good but probably not as good as the price
The food is good but probably not as good as the price suggests. But you only partially come here for the food. It's really all about the *vibes*. By that, I mean the stellar view, cool waiting area (think ron burgundy's rich mahogany and leather), and the opportunity to walk the grounds of a hotel hardly anyone can afford. It is beautiful up there. So with that out of the way, the burger is ok. Quality ingredients but they give you a mix of ketchup, mustard, and mayo. I think when you've thought out a lot of the menu, you should also think out the sauce. Also, like most very large burgers, it's kind of too much of a handful to eat before it becomes a soggy mess. The crabcake appetizer is really good, though the portion is not large. They do not skimp on the crab. The salmon salad is a good size and well made. Weirdly, the house ice tea is the highlight. It's got some passionfruit in it and is extraordinary. The service is also unsurprisingly excellent.
Be the first to ReplyMyself and my partner dined at the Stonehouse restaurant
Myself and my partner dined at the Stonehouse restaurant and had an exceptionally disappointing experience.Entering the grounds was truly magical - the ambiance and the scenery lived up to every expectation we had. We were warmly greeted by the hostess who was very kind and prompt; unfortunately that's where our positive experience ended. Our waiter was brusque to say the least. The few times he stopped at our table he seemed preoccupied and displeased at our very presence. After about half an hour he finally asked us for our drink order - two of the smoked cocktails. We were happy to pay the $33/each for the tableside experience; however, our waiter decided upon himself to forgo the recipe and smoke the (very different) cocktails simultaneously using the same wood to save himself time. Had we known we were going to receive a rushed and sloppy experience, we would have opted for another drink on the menu. Additionally, our waiter never brought nor did he instruct anyone to bring the complimentary bread basked to our table. One of the bussers noticed that we had been sitting at an empty table while all of the surrounding tables had been taken care of and took it upon himself to attend to us.Despite the abysmal service up to this point, we were still looking forward to enjoying our dinner and a couple of glasses of wine; however, it would be another 45 minutes before our waiter returned to take our food order. In the same time he visited the adjacent tables almost five times each. Further, he never inquired about additional beverages. In fact, we sat at our table for the remainder of the evening with empty glasses that constantly disrupted the delivery of our plates. On top of all that, another one of the employees used my name to track me down on social media and requested to follow one of my accounts. I find it incredibly shocking that someone on your staff would feel that violating one of your guest's privacy was an appropriate thing to do. I have never left a restaurant more dissatisfied.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best fine dining experience we had.
We went here for our 5 year wedding anniversary. I had talked to them few days in advance to prepare special Jain food (no onion, no garlic, no potatoes, no mushroom, no egg etc the whole deal). Chef prepared artichoke cake and vegetable lasagna for us. They even had special bread (eggless) for us. We had a table outside and it was just beautiful experience. They even made a delicious eggless cake for us. Would love to go back again!
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely the best restaurant in Santa Barbara.
Ty has outdone himself on the menu and setting of this gem of restaurant. Everything is delicious and of highest quality. It is not cheap but well worth the price. I recommend to go there for special occasions. I like the sea bass from the menu most although everything even the hamburger is world class. Try few of their deserts and you don't want to go home after that.

Our favorite restaurant in Santa Barbara! We love coming here and being treated like royalty. Emanuele, our waiter, took very good care of us. He was very attentive, caring and made amazing food recommendations. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Be the first to ReplyWe came here tonight and loved it.
The hostesses were very welcoming and gave us an amazing table, ย all tables at this place are absolutely gorgeous. Marcus and Manny showed us around the drink menu and suggested some delicious drinks such as the blood orange margarita which was so good.Adam was an exquisite server and made great suggestions through the night, we tried the Quail which was absolutely delicious, unlike anything we have had before. We also enjoyed the Wagyu which was so tender, moist and delicious. Everything we ate was to die for. The special, which was local Santa Barbara Uni, was absolutely amazing. The Meyer lemon tart finished our night in the best way possible. It's is the perfect combination of tart and sweet. Above all, best dinner experience I have ever had. The ambience made everything that much better and the food was the best I've ever had. Great service, we felt so taken care of!

Stonehouse at San Ysidro Ranch is where elegance meets surf and turf. ย The romantic lights on the patio and classy atmosphere set the stage for the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or splurge on a night out. The service was immaculate, with a great balance of refined but comfortable. To start the meal, the wine list is extensive at 70 pages but the sommelier provided very helpful recommendations and details on the few we were eying to try. Their cocktails are divine, I personally enjoyed the paper plane with the initial starters of olives and trio of bread. Started off with delicious calamari, which was incredibly tender and flavorful. The sea bass was light and delicate, and the Parmesan crusted halibut was delightfully flaky. To top off a wonderful evening, we were treated to a table side flambรฉ of cherries over velvety vanilla ice cream. Stonehouse is now one of my favorite restaurants for celebrations!

One of the hidden gems of Montecito village with award winning cuisine and alfresco dining that will have you back again not only to explore the menu but to take in the views and sounds of this hidden oasis. An unrivaled dining experience that brings a culinary excellence without having to travel far from our gorgeous coast. Enjoy the seasonal bounty of the west by the fireplace or overlooking the view of ancient olive and citrus trees with lavender fields in the backdrop. I started off with the cheese plate and it was everything I was hoping for. Presentation and taste satisfied my eager palate and when I was done out came a gorgeous yellowtail crudo that was just the right portion and beautifully plated. Could it get any better than this? Of course, and our came the king salmon with all its glory on a bed of spinach. It's simply amazing what creative minds can do with our food. For dessert I had the chocolate crunch cake with a banana latte. And oh what a tasty twosome that was. To elevate your dining experience they're recipients of Wine Spectators grand award so check out their selection from their wine cellar. The service was impeccable and the pacing was on point. And that's my take on this culinary experience, Peace...
