Saratoga Springs Wine Bar
This is an attractive dining spot and bar with views of the main Saratoga Springs town center. There is a nice wine selection as hoped. Our server was very pleasant, but we did have some difficulty receiving our order. We were told the kitchen was backed up. We had to prompt for one of our two appetizers to come out, as we had already received and eaten the smoked salmon appetizer (which was very good.) The seafood brushetta finally came though it was only average. We never received our salad before dinner arrived. We assumed that they forgot it. They strangely brought it towards the end of dinner so the server kindly removed it from our bill. The hamburger was fine, but fries were average. Would return only for a glass of wine--not the food.
Be the first to ReplyTiny portion, inadequate and pricey.
Youโve got to be kidding me! We took clients out for dinner. We were embarrassed. The portions were so ridiculously small, that they have nerve calling these dishes entrees and charging $40+ Per.. We are from NewYork City and never have an issue with high prices, but we expect and want a meal. I feel these potions were criminal. After paying our nearly $300 bill four four, we left and went and found dinner, we were starving. If they think these tiny servings are posh, theyโre nuts. I spoke with the owner who offered to buy us a drink because of our disappointment. We could not drink, we needed food. We are all men, none under 200lbs, all fitness minded. We need calories, and protein to maintain. The have to be joking here. Iโm 60, and eat out about 3x a week and have never had such a small meal in my life. This one takes the cake. horrible!
Be the first to ReplySO DISAPPOINTED
We (four of us) had dinner on Friday night. Place was a bit busy. I was told one of the waiters were sent home because it was slow. Thinking they should have kept him on. Service was terrible. Food not so great either. We ordered Duck, Foie Gras Lobster and steak. Here is our review for each. Steak, so rare it was COLD. Server never asked how we wanted it cooked. Duck, so much fat, we could barely eat it. Lobster was a tail, not cut so I could get it to eat, We cut it open with a butter knife. Usually tail meat pops right out. It did not. Don't think it was cooked properly. Foie gras was not what we expected at all. It was just a piece of liver not cooked properly. The WORST part was the server never came to check on us when she dropped our food so there was nothing we could do. When she FINALLY came back, we told her about the food which was barely eaten and she just said they were busy. When we asked to speak to the owner, (who happened to walk by us!) she said the owner was busy and could not speak to us. Coward I say. Nothing was done for us to make us happy customers. NOTHING. Not a drink, not a discount and the owner could not bother to come over. I will not be going back again.
Be the first to ReplyOwner could care less for our business
We had actually gone there for many years in a row. Trying to support this business. A really nice bar. And in the past we have had very good food. Well this year was different. We got there and there was no bartender. He had to leave to find his dog. But the server, Sarah I believe. She was wonderful trying to do everything. After a bottle of wine at the bar. We sat for a dinner that we were looking forward to. First night of the week it was open. The special soup we ordered. They were out of soup. Five of the entrรฉes are served with whipped potatoes. They had no potatoes. It was a joke. The owner ( I think Melissa) came over and could care less. not even an apology or anything. We finished our bottle of wine and left. Unfortunately our favorite place we will never go back to. By the way we had also recommended this restaurant to numerous couples over the years. When I think about it there was only one or two tables with people inside. And every other restaurant was packed. Now I know why.

Does sommelier here itโs amazing. Very knowledgeable. We had the Charcuterie board and everything was amazing. Then we ordered the crabcakes to share and they were some of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area.
Be the first to ReplyWhat happened? Used to be great!
We used to go here all the time - interesting, tasty food, along with an excellent wine selection. We were very disappointed this time. Chicken skewers were rubbery and unspiced, potatoes in the chicken pot pie were undercooked although the biscuit was delicious. I rarely complain but I did voice my concerns to our waiter who responded, โIโm sorry to hear thatโ and walked away. Iโm chalking it up to pandemic issues - maybe a new chef?- but am unlikely to go back.

I am from the area and have always LOVED The Wine Bar. I may be a little biased, since my husband just became their head chef. He re-created the menu and I had the pleasure of eating here about a month ago. The food was delicious!!!! I ordered the tempora asparagus and the rack of lamb, for desert I had the Berries & Creme that Chef Eric recreated from the movie CHEF. While looking at the menu I thought it was wonderful they offer a vegan/vegetarian entree to the stuffed pepper with or without cheese. He makes his own pizza dough a d sauce also. The menu is just wonderful, and even the happy hour menu looks tasty if you just want to have wine. Service was great and the staff is friendly. It's been awhile since I have gone out, it was a nice evening. The ambience was warm inside. They have outdoor seating and a cigar smoke room, which is separate from the eating area and we'll ventilated. Downstairs they have a piano and fire place. I will attached extra photos of the food to show what my hubs has created. It's worth trying, you won't be disappointed. I love this place!!!
Be the first to ReplyLovely Outdoor Table
My husband and I went into Saratoga recently to enjoy a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We reserved an outside table at The Wine Bar. Happily, we were seated at a delightful bistro table in the side garden area. It felt private, but also gave us a great view of the downtown Saratoga scene. Our server, Maya, was kind and attentive. Along with our wine, we ordered several items on the Happy Hour menu. They were all delicious, but the Coconut Shrimp was especially good. We ended up getting an additional order of that one! All in all, we had a wonderful time and highly recommend a visit to The Wine Bar.
Be the first to ReplyHappy Hour is Nicely Done
Many of the restaurants in Saratoga Springs have a happy hour and we've found this is a good way to try a place out. We were seated outside along Broadway, where the people watching was entertaining. The service was polite, well-paced and friendly. We each had two rounds of wine, taking advantage of happy hour pricing. Their wines list is not the usual and prices run the gamut. We were pleased with our choices. These days ordering food is required, so we split the calamari appetizer. It was very well prepared and served with a sweet and sour sauce. We enjoyed it thoroughly though expected a larger portion.

Outdoor seating as the town opened up. Friendly service, excellent food, modest prices. And bathroom access (cannot always take that for granted in these times)!
