Timber is the gem of Petworth and I will never get tired of their pizzas! You can't go wrong with any of them but I love the Penelope most. I really love their salads too. Only wish they had more seating! Feel thankful to have this in the neighborhood.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious pizza, especially the Green Monster.
Their gluten free crust is great, too!
Be the first to ReplyGreat pizza.
Nice bar area. Cool (but small) little place. The salads looked amazing. Only negative was that my hair and clothes really smelled like pizza after we left, but I will still definitely be returning haha.

... I highly recommend, parking can be a bit of a pain and they get busy. So as long as you plan it out, it's worth a visit
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite pizza in DC.
Thin crust and crispy with delicious pepperonis. I highly recommend the Bentley.

Timber Pizza has been on my list ever since I moved to DC, so I was so excited to try it out recently! We started with orders of the empanadas. They have 2 different flavors, and we tried both. 1. Slow-roasted pork, pickled shallots (spicy pineapple chups to dip) and 2. Butternut Squash, Sofrito, Spicy Pumpkin Seeds (Spicy Cranberry Jam). Both were delicious in totally different ways. I'd get them both whenever I come back.We also split the THE BENTLEY (Tomato sauce, provolone and mozzarella blend, cured chorizo, soppressata, Peruvian sweet peppers, spicy honey (made with Little Red Fox hot sauce) which was delicious. I love any pizza with a honey drizzle, and this didn't disappoint.THE SHIRLEY (Provolone and mozzarella blend, pesto drizzle, tomato drizzle, jalapeños, cured chorizo, green onions) was tasty, but not as delicious as the Bentley. The interior is really small and it gets very crowded, loud, and warm bc of the exposed brick oven. They have some alcoholic and soft drinks as well.

Yummy wood-fired pizza in Petworth! This past weekend was my first time trying Timber pizza and it won't be my last. We walked in around 5:15 on a Friday night before heading to a local concert and were easily able to get a table. This place does a brisk carry out business. Inside is super tiny and you may not find a table. You order and pay at the counter and they serve you your food and drink. Due to their small size, they have a small menu. They only offer Pinot Grigio as their white wine. It was average and the pour rather small. But the pizza is above average with a nice char and decent amount of toppings. I also tried their squash empanadas and they were served with a berry sauce that paired well. The employees were friendly and helpful.

Say for instance, you planned to visit a global chain to accrue your last few points for a free pizza. Say for instance that plan was upended after a visit to a farmer's market outside of your apartment, and you're okay with it.That's how I discovered Timber Pizza.People who know me well, know how much I love wood-fired pizza ("the barbecue of pizza"), and all I needed to see was that beautiful brick oven in the parking lot to dart over there and see what they had. Conservative with my toppings, I chose a simple pepperoni pizza, which came up to $12; luckily, one had just come out the oven.I raced upstairs to my unit, indulging in the thin, well-charred crust and the best cheese, sauce and pepperoni I've had in a while. I had devoured the 12" pie before I knew it. So I'll keep this short by saying I'll definitely check out Timber Pizza in their actual location one day.

Literally my favorite pizza spot in the area!!! Omg I love them, such a vibe on the inside, very small and intimate but the aromas, the brick ovens, the conversations all make the experience amazing. There's always great customer service and the quality of the pizza has never faltered. I need to head back here soon!
Be the first to ReplySome of the best pizza in DC! My favorite is the Bentley.
Also, they always accommodate my high maintenance husband's requests for half pesto, half pepperoni.

TIMBERRRRRRRRR!! (my former favorite pizza joint has just gone down in rank)Came here on a Wednesday night and ordered The LRF and The Bentley. The LRF was a nice salad with ingredients that complimented each other well. I especially loved the hot honey dressing which wasn't too hot and added a nice twang. The Bentley was amazing. The cheese, sauce, meats and peppers tasted delicious. The crust was nice and pliable for folding or eating normal-style. Would love to return and eat my way through the menu

Be the first to ReplyJust fantastic food.
We've tried most of their pizzas and all are delicious. Green monster and the Bentley are our favorites, but tastes differ. Their crust is really superb. Also try the empanadas--the cauliflower ones are incredible. Salads also excellent. You can't go wrong and they are super quick and fresh for pick up. Best pizza in Petworth for sure.
Be the first to ReplyAlways a pleaser.
Stopped in late afternoon on a Saturday to a busy kitchen, happy to take our order and it was ready within 10 minutes. I got the The Taylor - lamb, peas, pesto and almonds. I nixed the cheese, (I'm dairy free) even though they do now have vegan cheese!! I added roasted cauliflower instead. It's not a cheap pizza, but high quality and unique, ample toppings. I easily ate the whole thing. No regrets.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing pizza! One of the pizza i've ever had.
Very crisp and light crust. I love this pizza because it doesn't remind me of any of the pizza i've ever had. There are the thick chewy type like papa johns. There's the thin and crispy and slightly chewy neopolitan style and New york style but this pizza doesn't fit none of them. I love pizza and I love Timber pizza because of uniqueness and it's flavor. Overall amazing pizza! I've tried them all and my favorite is the green monster. Definitely Recommend!!!

Came back a second time to introduce my girlfriend to Timber! We came right when they opened on a Saturday and grabbed a seat outside because the weather was nice. My group was vegetarian so we only ordered vegetarian pizzas! We ordered three pizzas: Cheese Please, Green Monster, and The Lucy! The Cheese Please and The Lucy were new to me as I came during a different season (they rotate flavors every season I believe). I really loved The Lucy and the Green Monster, can't go wrong with any of the pizzas, they all seem to be amazing. The Cheese Please was a basic cheese so that's give or take. The roasted cauliflower on The Lucy was great and matched well with the flavors on the white pizza. Overall great place for pizza in DC, they are flavorful and consistently good! We will be back again!
Be the first to ReplyIt's expensive and it's not that great.
The pizza is unmemorable. The dough seemed overly sweet, and there was essentially no sauce. Two pizzas and two beers cost $50, which is also too much. Menomale and All-Purpose are both better. I would not eat here again.
Be the first to ReplyWe order two pizzas and a salad via Door Dash.
And we got only one pizza and the salad. The Dasher claimed innocence or ignorance. But these things happen! But I got a cold reception when I went back to the restaurant to check on the missing order. A pizza was missing and they weren't even apologetic. Didn't even offer anything to make amends. I'm visiting from out of state, but definitely won't be ordering anything from here for the duration of our stay. Advice to management : Please make sure you check on the orders before handing them off to a delivery service.
Be the first to ReplySome clients suggested this place, so we met there.
I got there a few minutes before them and was able to snag two seats in the front window. There's not a lot of tables inside for sitting so I'm thankful for the two seats we had. When I got there there was no line so we were able to walk right up and order. I love all kinds of pizza - Detroit, NY, Chicago, thin crust, & wood fired - so love trying new pizza spots. We had the Lot and a half Shirley / half Bentley. They allow you to order the pizza in halves so you can try 2 different kinds on one pie. Cool. Since it's wood fired, it didn't take long at all. Let's start with the Lot. It had slow roasted pork, pineapple, and jalapeños. It's supposed to have cilantro but my guests don't like it so we opted without it. However I know it would've tasted great on this pizza because I love cilantro. I definitely like combination of the pork with the pineapples & a little spice from the jalapeños. The Shirley had chorizo, onion, jalapeños, and pesto, which I love. The Bentley had chorizo, sweet peppers, spicy honey, & salami. It was good too but my least favorite of the 3 because I'm not a huge salami fan. They were all great options with unique flavor profiles that you don't see it the average pizzeria. I came here expecting good pizza but what I was not expecting was the desert. Since it was just ice cream I wasn't expecting much, but it's the small details that really made this dessert the unexpected star of the night. According to the menu, the small serves 1 to 2 people. Lies! Three of us shared it and we could've easily add a fourth. We did add an extra cone though because a small only comes with two. I love a sugar cone or a waffle cone, but I've never had a wood fired cone. I could taste the hints of the wood in the cone. Genius. This was my first time having Dolcezza vanilla gelato and I'm definitely a fan. The ice cream was topped with granola, jam, chocolate shavings, and green apple slices. I've had all of those things before but never on ice cream, with the exception of the chocolate of course. It was really good. I'm not surprised but the combination was unexpected. Next time I would get extra granola because I really enjoyed the taste and the crunch. The tart green apple slices gave it a little balance, and they were so fresh and crisp. I'm glad I can add Timber to my list of fav pizza places.
Be the first to ReplyTimber is some of the best pizza in the area.
I first tried them at the USDA Farmer's Market. I once ate here in person with my fiancée and also loved their beer selection. I even considered them for my wedding but ended up with a more traditional caterer. I've ordered from them twice on DoorDash since and loved it both times. Last time we had the Green Monster (my favorite) as well as The Turu. Definitely try this place either in person or via delivery.

Delicious pizza! The gluten free crust is great and it's a normal sized pizza unlike a lot of places that charge a lot for GF and then give you mini pizza. The vegan cheese is tasty too! Highly recommend this spot

Holy moly, I have finally found a pizza place to love the way I loved the now-closed Pizza CS. Hallelujah! Got the Green Monster and just enjoyed everything about it. Perfect amount of pesto sauce, cheese, and veggie toppings. Oh, also, I never eat pizza crust (I'm secretly still a child) but I ate every piece of crust--even the burnt air bubbles. Please do another drop in Kensington soon!
Be the first to ReplyTimber doesn't need me to review it as there's already
Timber doesn't need me to review it as there's already plenty of glowing reviews from far weightier sources but I try to review places I've been a bunch and so here goes. Timber is my local pizza place and the thing I like most about timber is the warm, cozy, inviting look of the space. It's a beautiful place to walk by on my daily walks. Their trucks are whimsical and a fixture of the area. I do think their pizza is extremely over hyped and if it weren't my local place I would have gone once and not returned. But as it is my local place I've been quite a few times and so have developed some opinions. I feel like none of their pizzas quite live up to the promise on the menu. I want the Bentley to be spicier, I want the pepperoni to have more of the indulgent feel that can come with the right saltiness and crispness, I want the salads to be substantive and not feel like I'm paying for some lettuce on a plate, and I want the menu to change every so often to bring in fun new pizza options. But they haven't changed those things in the past few years and others clearly love what they have to offer so I'll just continue enjoying the smell, smiling at how beautiful and happy people look at their outdoor seating, and being slightly disappointed when I actually eat their food myself.
