Tony's Di Napoli New York Reviews from The Last Year
Amazing dinner!
Good and service was AMAZING! We visited as a family of 4 during busy tourist season and while the restaurant was packed, we had made a reservation in advance and when we arrived 15 minutes early we were shown to a table right away. Our family enjoyed the fettuccine Alfredo and chicken Parmesan and we all agreed it was the best we’d ever had. Having 2 entrees was just the right amount of food (we have a preteen and teenager, so not small kiddos). Our server was fantastic and boy could he sing! We finished the meal with 3 desserts, which were also great. Start to finish we were in the restaurant about an hour and a $160 bill (2 entrees, 4 drinks (2 alcoholic) and 3 desserts). Highly recommend and get a reservation in advance!
Perfect for Families
This was exactly what we needed. We were looking for a place to take our kids after a matinee for dinner. Tony's has a very reasonably priced kids' menu, and the food was actually quite good. Perfect if you need a good meal that also has kid-friendly options and atmosphere. We made a reservation for our group of six, which was a good move.
A little pricey on the food but huge family style portions
A little pricey on the food but huge family style portions make it worth it. Was looking for a little quieter place for dinner but overall not too shabby.
Love those authentic Italian red sauce recipes
Sorry Chicago, but I think New York City has more outstanding Italian restaurants. At least my half-Italian wife thinks so. Before we got married in 1976, she worked in New York for five years. So she knows a good plate of lasagna and spaghetti and osso buco and veal parmigiana and tiramisu when she eats it. During our recent visit to the city, she took us to some of her old haunts. One of them is Tony's Di Napoli at 147 West 43rd Street in Times Square, between 6th and 7th Avenues. Founded in 1990, it is one of New York City's original family-style Italian restaurants offering authentic Italian red sauce recipes. Partners Herb of Wetson's Hamburgers and sons Greg and Stuart Wetanson have embraced the Broadway spirit of the neighborhood. The walls are decorated wth oil-painted caricatures, creating one of Broadway's most credible walls of fame. Open from 11:30 to 11 Tuesday through Saturday and 11:30 to 10 on Sunday and Monday, it offers indoor dining, takeout and delivery. For appetizers, we chose a full order of Tony's meatballs, a full order of Tony's shrimp and full orders of Caesar salad and Gem Salad. For entrees, we opted for spaghetti and meatballs and veal parmigiana with roasted potatoes and spinach. For dessert, we shared tiramisu with sweetened mascarpone and lady fingers soaked in espresso and coffee liqueur and New York cheesecake, a home-made New York favorite, served with an Oreo cookie crumble crust and fresh strawberries.
Magnifique
Wow! A magnificent restaurant with perfect service. You can enjoy a glass of wine in complete tranquility before ordering, without any pressure from the staff. A big thank you to Danielle for her impeccable service and beautiful smile. I hope that if you go to this restaurant, you'll have the chance to have her as your server.
Great service, food, and leftovers! The staff was very nice
Great service, food, and leftovers! The staff was very nice and helpful regarding menu!
This is a spectacular Italian restaurant.
It's big, it's loud, the energy is wild inside. People are excited to be there and they should be based on the food and the service that is first rate for the most part. The Great: Despite this being an unbelievably popular spot, we were there about 8 minutes before our reservation and they sat us immediately. The wait staff is super. Awesome service, friendly. Our waiter asked if we had been there before and then explained that they give enormous portions and that anything that you see on the menu (or on the two gigantic boards on the left and the right of the restaurant because you can't read the menu in the dark with the tiny type) is really made for 2 to 4 people (I of course looked at this as a dare). When you consider that two to three people could eat very well. The prices are not bad, especially considering you're in the heart of New York City near Broadway. The Good: The atmosphere is pretty great, although it's definitely not a date spot if you want to have a conversation. It's loud. It's boisterous. There's a lot of people in there having a really good time. When the food comes out it is gigantic. And as I mentioned the service is great. We got veal parmesan ($29) and a side of pasta ($27) which is a side, doesn't come with your meal. It's kind of like an expensive steakhouse, everything is separate. That being said, this definitely was enough food for two to four people for sure. Our waiter twirled out a decent size portion of spaghetti and put it on each plate and he cut into the two gigantic veal cutlets and put those on the plate as well. Very old school, very cool touch. The Bad: I've been all over the country and I always have Italian. And New York,, Providence, Boston and Chicago have incredible Italian food. The best. And more often than not I have chicken parm or veal parm. This veal parm is equal to the BEST I have had anywhere. Truly special. Truly perfect. The pasta? Not so much. It seems like an entirely different sauce, I truly did not like the flavor. I had about two bites and quit on the $27 spaghetti.. I doubled down on the incredible veal instead and finished half the plate meant for multiple people. Just the fact that you would charge $27 for pasta is ridiculous, but when it tastes that bad, it's disappointing. Add to the fact that they charge you by the glass for Coke... ($3.50) and make you pay for refills... When we know that's a 35x markup per glass... Crazy in 2024. I know it must be expensive doing business in New York, but nickel and diming people like that is ridiculous. So overall, despite a couple of flaws that would have turned into a two-star review for another restaurant that did not have this level of service and that incredible veal, this is a 4-star spot for sure. I loved everything about the atmosphere, the service and half of the food. I hate being nickeled and dimed. It's well worth going just for the good and the great great. Try it. You'll be amazed at the vibe and the food in this classic spot.
Friendly, efficient service.
Ample quantity and quality food. We had the caprese salad and ravioli, both were very good. Sat in downstairs area where the noise was significantly less than main floor. Opera quality waiter (not ours) sang which added to the ambiance.
Great Italian Cuisine and atmosphere just off Times Square - go hungry because you will be full when you leave!
Looking for great Italian cuisine served family style? This is it! I asked a NYPD Detective that just happened to be working uniform patrol outside Grand Central Station where the best Italian food could be found, and without hesitation he said Tony Di Napoli on W. 43rd. Robert, our server, took great care of us and we were well fed. Appetizer of stuffed mushrooms, Caesar salad, and the main course of Ravioli De Bolognese. Two thumbs up!

We loved dining here! Perfect choice for a family meal for a pre-theater meal. We've dined at Carmines a few times in the past and wanted to give Tony's a try. Well, we are so happy we did! Food was superior to Carmines and we had a fantastic time! Make sure to ask your server about serving sizes on specific dishes because some are smaller (like for 2) and others are quite large (for 4-5). Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for a family meal.
Great restaurant near Times Square
This is a great old-fashioned restaurant very close to Times Square. The food and service are excellent. I would highly recommend it.
Excellence cuisine!.
We were in a hotel, as my husband was in Sloan Kettering . Tony's delivered us an amazing meal......we ordered a lot.......and they made our difficult time in NYC a true delight
Great family style restaurant.
They were able to accommodate a party of 10 in Manhattan which was hard to find last minute. Table settings are elegant and service is quick. The food all came out at the same time, (which unfortunately is becoming rare). Food is good, nothing special or outstanding from the entrees we ordered. I woyld eat there again.
Bread is good.
Stuffed mushrooms were average. Calamari wasn't good at all just standard calamari nothing special about it. Chicskn francese was actually pretty good. Tiramisu was fine but drenched in liquor surprised I didn't get drunk it actually burned going down. Overall is this place solid? Yes. Would I go back? Hell no.
Delicious and so much food.
I will be back soon. Very nice ambiance. I highly recommend Tony's. Service was outstanding.

So good!!!! Dren is the best! Had the Meatballs! They were incredible. Will definitely come here again. The next time I am in New York City! This is a must stop. Watch out little Italy Tonys Di Napoli is coming for you.
Brilliant
A beautifull expirence. The food was perfect and the waiters just as good! Always on the go and asking the coustomer for refills. Highly recomended.

Restaurant was crowded and tightly packed but they sat us promptly because we had a reservation. Food was average, nothing to rave about.

We tried Tony's because of the proximity to the theater we had tickets to, but I'm glad we did! The food was simple but so flavorful! Portions are more than ample and the service was stellar. My only complaint is the prices are a bit high. But it is Times Square!!
Tony’s for the win! My NYC go to!!!
This place never disappoints!!! I just love Tony’s Di Napoli. From the moment you walk and in and see Ciro, you know you are in great hands. He is so friendly and makes you feel like family. My friend and I just came in from seeing “Back to the Future The Musical” and came to celebrate my birthday. The food was delicious, our waiter Kush served us with kindness and was a professional, great waiter. The nice lady took our picture so I had a memento from my special birthday dinner. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant, except for go!!! You will not be disappointed. Tony’s is my go to and I can’t wait to come back. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Authentic great city Italian
Really authentic Italian. Singing waiters with a big menu. Family dining so huge portions so better with a larger party as wasted food for two . Really good tasting food in lovely setting with years of history . I would go back
It was so good and flavoring and it enjoyed it and
It was so good and flavoring and it enjoyed it and comfortble and the bathrooms look a little weird but ok
The best Italian food ever!!!! If you're craving some
The best Italian food ever!!!! If you're craving some authentic Italian food this is the spot for you!!! Every time we're in New York we come to this spot a few times for dinner. The food here is amazing and the service is also great. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. You'll find that they have a waiter that will start singing some opera which they sound really good. Tonys has a bar good luck trying to get a spot but if you do you'll not be only able to order drinks but you'll also be able to order food. They have the smaller portions or half portions. This place is somewhat loud just like if you were having dinner with the family. I ordered the stuff mushrooms which were nice and cheese. Ordered the shrimp Parmesan which was amazingly delicious and the rigatoni Ala vodka with extra sauce OMG!!!!! This was AMAZING!!!! This place is great every time I have eat here.
Massive food and atmosphere!
Fantastic service, great value, real vibes! Great food and atmosphere. The portions are huge - when the say "all plates are made for sharing" - believe them! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Very good food.
Two dishes easily feeds for people. Good service. The calamari is particularly good. Not too breaded very fresh.
The food is always consistent .
The food isn't amazing but it's acceptable. I usually get the Pina Al Vodka. Portion are usually good.
The food is phenomenal! Must try spot if you're visiting
The food is phenomenal! Must try spot if you're visiting with a group of people. Family style plates and the service was great.
Nice warm family feel
This place gives you that warm Italian family feel. The dishes are large and serves 2 to 3 people and the deserts were really good. A great way to spend a birthday meal in NYC. It appears to be having some redecoration work currently, but this didn't affect our visit. Our waitress was also really friendly.
I was very disappointed when I went last week.
The pasta was undercooked, the dishes had no flavor, and the waitress was r
Delicious Gluten Free Pasta
We visited here on the recommendation of friends and it was delicious just wished they had warned us about the portion sizes! Would highly recommend reserving a table ahead of time as the restaurant was very busy when we were there creating a lively atmosphere. Although the restaurant was busy staff were attentive and never rushed us at all. Gluten free pasta was easily available and staff were knowledgeable regarding sauce pairings. We never opted for starters and upon seeing the size of the entree portions were so relieved! My husband and I ordered separate dishes busy easily could have shared!
Food was absolutely delicious!! We sat at the bar and
Food was absolutely delicious!! We sat at the bar and everything was fantastic! Excellent Fra Diavolo mussels and the chicken parm was tasty as well. Highly recommend!
best meatballs ever !
My partner had been before on his last trip to New York but it was my first time and I was so impressed! Definitely book as the place was super busy - we booked for 7:30pm on a Thursday and the restaurant was full. We had a lovely waiter who was really helpful and attentive. We shared the Spaghetti & Meatballs as my partner had had this last time and I’m so glad we chose this as it was unbelievable!! The portion size was great for 2 and we actually had to take some home between us as we were so full. I would love to return as I don’t think we had the full experience as we were both super tired after our first day in the city, so would love to come back and experience it properly!
Back again and still satisfy
Vodka sauce is beyond wonderful. Blows the competition out of the water. Chicken piccata was great as was the service. Wine pours were very generous. Got the house Chianti was exceptional. Only downside is that all the dishes are family style so count on mammoth servings. We we unable to order half servings which would have left us both stuffed as it was. Come back every time we ate in town and will continue to do so.
Honestly very enjoyable.
We went here because we have been to Carmine's a little too many times and wanted to try something different. If you've ever been to Carmines, it's very very similar in both quality and style. If you have not, the style is family style with big plates that everybody shares. It's good to go in a group of at leasr four people but the more the merrier. We had the eggplant Parmesan chicken Parmesan and the rigatoni with mushrooms and vodka sauce. Service was attentive and friendly.
Was surprised a birthday dinner here last week.
Food is incredible, we got the calamari, Caesar salad, chicken francese and steak pizzazoli. All delicious. We were a group of 4 and the food was more than enough. Service was good, we sat downstairs. Crowded as always. Ambiance is good, doesn't feel like you're in the middle of Manhattan. Would definitely recommend! Make reservations
Tony’s will not disappoint if you crave some quality Italian cuisine. Delicious!
When you go to NYC, there’s plenty of great Italian food to eat and many places to choose from. This visit we chose Tony’s for my daughter’s 18th bday and we were not disappointed. This was our first visit here and we all loved it,….especially the bday girl. We had to wait a bit for a table but it was worth it. The service and the food were outstanding and we all agreed it was a place we would recommend to others. Be prepared to have family style portions and to spend a few bucks, but if you want quality Italian food and a great dining experience, then this is a place to consider for sure. And the dessert was equally as impressive. It’s also very easy to get to while you are walking around Times Square.
Tony's Di Napoli is better that Carmine's
The restaurant accommodated 18 people comfortably but service was mediocre. We had to keep asking for water refills or bread. The ravioli and fried calamari were delicious but the veal marsala was overcooked thereby too tough. The portion sizes are decent for the entrees but for the price of the appetizers the portion sizes were small. The strawberry ice cream shortcake is a must try.
Family night Italian style
We had an amazing time here. We were a group of 8 and had a mix of kids and adults. Yes, the place was crowded. Definitely get reservations. The service was attentive where we didn’t feel rushed. We had the flounder and they were also able to accommodate the kids preferences for buttered noddles. We got the mousse and the brownie sundae to share. The waiter brought over extra cherries for the sundae because the kids started fighting for the 1. It was also a nice touch with a professional photograph. We liked the pictures so much, we bought 4. Overall, it was a nice night to remember.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!

Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
