The customer service was amazing.
He helped with modifying my sandwich and was so gracious when I spilled my coffee from next door and cleaned it up for me. Food was great.

Amazing food, amazing service, amazing people! Best Turkish food I had in OC. Special shout out to Baklava's what is to die for. I liked baklavas but never was my top dessert, Turkish kitchen changed my views, I love love love them now, and together with Turkish coffee or tee it's really good. So far every single thing we tried was worth to return and eat again. My kid loves their rice and wraps.

We jumped off the freeway on our way to San Diego and found this wonderful gem. We had the beef donner wraps and kibbeh. Delicious! So glad we decided to stop!

My husband and I enjoyed the Chicken Doner plate and a Chicken Kebab sandwich. The Turkish wheat rice was very good and melded perfectly with the tzatziki sauce. Look forward to going again to try something else!

For months now my husband has been wanting to try authentic Turkish coffee. We came here after running an errand in the same shopping center because his blood sugar drops and he needs to eat properly and quickly to restore his equilibrium. We do have a language barrier, so we didn't quite understand the explanation about kokorec (even though it appears tasty in photos). Spoiler alert: if you're not down with intestines, offal, and the like, it's not the dish for you. Otherwise, though, friendly service and items clearly marked in display cases helped greatly.Husband opted for a chicken doner sandwich and the aforementioned coffee *during* his meal. Fabulous grilled bread, delicious filling, and bangin' garlic sauce, not to mention the generous portion size had us nodding appreciatively (because it's hard to talk when you're chowing down). The coffee did not disappoint, either! A few minor mentions: while the place is clean and inviting, you'll see spray bottles of cleanser and paper towels out in the open; these can easily be kept out of sight nearby. There is a large TV on the wall tuned to the news, but it as well as food preparation and enthusiastic conversation contributes to an elevated noise level. They also keep the door open without a screen, so keep this in mind when the warmer weather returns. No problems with pests on our visit but again, just something to keep in mind. We're definitely putting Turkish Kitchen on our Eat Local list.
Be the first to ReplyJust the best experience ever.
Super savoury, flavourful food. Extremely nice owner and staff. They stayed late to make our meal because we came in just before closing, and even gave us an extra baklava. They are so kind even though so many of them have been through so much lately with the earthquake. Their rice and Adana kebab is SO perfectly flavored and don't even get me started on Muttabal zomg where has this dish been all my life? They have so many different varieties of sides and food and I'm really looking forward to going back. Great for people who work at the local hospitals and need a quick but really tasty meal, especially when you're tired and getting out of a shift.

Happened to see this place while being in the area and wanted to try it out. Turned out to be really really good! We got the hummus, baklava, and fries. The man who took our order and brought the food was also really nice and you could tell he really cared. We will definitely come back to try everything else since they all looked really delicious.

It doesn't get any better than this! We ended up stopping by before our Aldi shopping spree and omg we are so glad we did! Everything that we tried was phenomenal!! I usually don't like baklava, but it looked so pretty on display. I had to try. I'm telling you this is the absolute best baklava I've ever had! Even if you come to just try this, it's worth it. Also, the owners are just so sweet. This is our new favorite place in the area!
Be the first to ReplyI am Turkish, living in the US for over 20 years.
I hardly eat outside but usually cook myself. We discovered this place completely by luck as it is hidden in a shopping mall. This is the best place I ate Turkish food outside of Turkey. We wanted to eat Turkish breakfast, they didn't have it in the menu. They prepared the best Menemen I ate ever - and I prepare at home all the time- way better than mine. They had the Turkish sokak simiti (street food, not patisserie style) They brought tahin, kaymak, everything. In Turkish tradition, restaurants serve Turkish tea (cay) as a courtesy and at no cost to their customers after food. This place is the same, they brought tea and they refreshed teas several times for us.I went to a nearby more known so-called Turkish grill, they ask customers "would you like tea?" Then they charge for each tea. When the bill comes, customers are shocked that they can argue for each tea, which can make a big difference in the bill! The Turkish Kitchen is not like that. They smile and offer tea, which really IS Turkish tradition! Many Turkish people come to US and out of a search to make money, they open a Turkish eatery - even though they don't specialize in it, that, they came to US to finish school or something like that. This place is different. These people came as a cook straight from Turkey. They have hard to find items such as kokorec and it is done right! They are chopping kokorec with zirh (big knife) There is constant Turkish music tv on. It made me feel great. For those people who want to enjoy true Turkish food, I highly advise it. Even last night we stopped by, there were some Turkish people drinking soup (corba) late at night - this is a classic Turkish restaurant! Another commenter wrote that they have best Doner (shawarma) in town. I will be back for it.I am NOT getting paid for writing this. We ate so fast, didn't have chance to take lots of food pics. It was really good.

I was all excited after seeing the 5 stars but now after I ate their best plate, filet mignon kebab plate I'm highly suspicious of the high rating. Is that possible people have no taste buds? Anything is possible maybe the ground meat would be marinated, to say I was disappointed would be an understatement, sorry to say but I had to ditch it, a total waste of money. The meat was not marinated, it tasted beefy n it was not grilled like in most Mediterranean restaurants here. I must say I have eaten at every single Middle Eastern resto in SoCal, furthermore I have been in Turkey, Santorini, Mykonos, Greece plus many more n going to Istanbul this summer. When we were in Germany, my husband ate wurst but I ate doner n gyros that was how much I love kebab n have experience in this cuisine. The entire plate was bland n they didn't have any delicious sauce but I have 20 hot sauces I bought from my trips n none could help. I should have bought kebabs from next door, Sofra Urbana, we dined there once, I think they are from Bosnia, I'm debating if I want to go back here to try an Adana.

We came to have dinner but it was very close to closing time and decided to go somewhere else because they didn't have what I wanted anymore. However, when I asked the owner if he had rice pudding he said yes and said that he felt very bad that they didn't have what we wanted for dinner and so he gave us free rice pudding and ashura (not sure how to spell it). They were both amazing. Highly recommend the desserts and hopefully the food is good next time we come back. Thank you for being so nice and will definitely come back.

I do not have enough words to describe how amazing my experience was eating at Turkish Kitchen. The owner was beyond kind and the food was amazing. I had the Iskender kebab which tasted so authentic. Reminded me of my time in Bursa. I also had the birds nest baklava and it was amazing! Turkish baklava is far superior over any other baklava but the baklava here was one of the best I have ever tasted. Tasted just like the baklava I've had in Turkey. Not drenched in syrup, overly sweet or heavy. I look forward to trying more dishes here and I look forward to trying the çay next time. Thank you again!!!! We will be visiting again, soon.
Be the first to ReplyI'm on a mission to try every Mediterranean wrap in town.
These are some of the best doner wraps I've had. I love the pickled turnips they include. I'm not 100% sold on the tortilla style wrap they use vs the pita bread wrap most other places use but it didn't take anything away from how delicious this was. The sauces, meats and veggies were all great.

. moist, flavorful and very generous serving for $15.99. Hummus was very tasty. Will be back!

WOW, THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! we are here right now and this is our third day in a row. The food is really flavorful, the Turkish delight and baklava are delicious plus this incredible soup like dessert (Asure) which I have never had but will be ordering regularly. The business owners/employees are more than kind and help describe the dishes I was unfamiliar with. The restaurant is SUPER clean and comfortable and during dinnertime they had a Turkish TV show on which we enjoyed watching. This will definitely become a weekly outing!! Highly recommend this place!!

Food is delicious and fresh!Unfortunately the portions of the sides are small especially for $15 dollars for one kabob and compared to other mediterranean places in the area

This place has very authentic Turkish food, including the best Turkish delight that you can buy anywhere in So. Cal.I visited them a few days ago and this is what we ordered (party of two):APPETIZERS:Lentil Soup... It was really good, with the right consistency and just the right amount of spices. We ordered the small portion and split between the two of us.Baba Ghanoush... They just knocked this out of the park!! Absolutely the best Baba Ghanoush I have ever tried anywhere!!. I know that it is a bold claim but you must try this to experience it. Chunky, freshly made with the right amount of Olive oil and Lemon juice mixed in with the correct seasonings and spices.Tzatziki... This is Greek cucumber yogurt sauce that came with slices of Pita. Again, it was very good and exceeded all expectations.Note to staff: Appetizers need to be served before the main course. Two of our appetizers came with the food and the other we had to get up and fetch for half way through the dinner. The restaurant was not busy and we were the only customers, so there should be no excuse for this.MAIN COURSE:Adana Kabob Plate... It came with some vegetables, hummus and rice. The Kabobs were quite good. The rice were quite ordinary. Filet Mignon Kabob Plate... This was just alright. The Kabobs could've been a bit better (more flavorful) but they were not disappointing. Both the plates above were very small in terms of portion sizes. If it was not for the appetizers, we would have left hungry.DESSERT: Turkish Delight... We took a sampler of all of the various varieties they had on offer. I believe there were 7 or 8 various types and they were ALL really GOOD!Rice Pudding... It was just alright. Not bad at all but when compared to the Turkish delight it was not just outstanding.Summary: To sum it all up. They have excellent appetizers. Even the Hummus was fantastic. All appetizers were freshly made and not the premade variety out of a can.The main course portion sizes were unusually small. For $17.99 or $15.99 (Filet Mignon and Adana Kabob plate prices), I can go to any nice full service Persian restaurant and get enough food to satisfy anyone and even have left overs. If it was not for the multiple appetizers and desserts that we ordered, we would've left hungry and we are not big eaters. So if the owners are reading this, please be a bit more generous with your portion sizes. I am still giving the restaurant 4 stars despite of the service issues and small portions as this place has real potential.

This has got to the most authentic doner wraps in California! (Compared to the ones I got in Belgium) This is a new restaurant that just opened about a month ago. They offer different kabobs, different meats including chicken, lamb and beef. They use different sauces that you can choose what you want inside. I definitely will be back to try the other items too!I ordered the baklava as well but unfortunately when I got home, I realized they forgot to place it in my bag. They looked really good though!! They have an assortment of desserts and Turkish sweets available for purchase. I'll have to buy it again, but double check your order before you leave- mainly for the little items. All in all- will be back for more.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious! We got the combo plate with beef and chicken.
Really enjoyed the wheat rice that came with it. The baba gahnoush and tzatziki was refreshing as sides and balanced the beef/chicken/carbs perfectly. We didn't eat our take out immediately so the meats were a little tough by the time we devoured it, but still yummy! Be sure to eat everything rigjt away!
